How to fix projector flicker and image problems. Home theater

  • home cinema, dolby atmos, dts x, I was able to fix my projector flicker problem by simply changing the hz in my Oppo uhh player from 60hz to 50hz.
    Originally I changed power cables, power outlets, hdmi cables and power conditioners. Which all helped, some better than others but none of those were an actual solution until I changed the settings in my player.
    If your player doesn’t have a setting an option to change the hz then you may need to adjust it in the projector itself.
    Hope this may help you. Thanks for watching

    Flickering/jumping is usually caused when the power cable is too close to the hdmi cable, or when the power is on the same circuit as something like a fridge freezer - try fitting ferrites to both

    Hi, I recently brought a projector off of Amazon, and I don’t know anything about projectors. When it arrived I was pretty satisfied quality was good and everything, the next day it starts flickering out of nowhere…and I’m clueless about what should I do to fix it?

    • @Audiolympian
      @Audiolympian  2 роки тому +1

      Projectors can be fussy. That kind of flickering can be a few things. Hdmi cable or port, the bulb could be bad especially if it’s an led bulb. The good news there is those are fairly low inexpensive. Or the source of what you use could not be that compatible or just need to be adjusted But mostly it comes down to the quality of the projector. I’d say most no name brands under $500 are pretty low quality. Not sure which one you have but I’d check those things first. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

      I got a RCA projector not super cheap but not super good it was like 400 bucks I think I didn't pay that but that's the retail anyways I used it for about 3 hours now it was brand new in the box I still have the plastic on the power bar and it's already screwing up when I power it on the white RCA screen comes on no problem but when I hit the source button nothing happens it won't go to the source main screen tried a bunch of different HDMI cables that work still says no signal and the source button doesn't do nothing but I noticed if I go to the menu which works some of the letters and numbers are distorted while the others are still perfectly clear almost looks like the screen is cracked or broken only in a few spots but I looked inside and all of the filters and everything are fine no cracks but I didn't open up all the way to the light so that's what I'm going to do next. all the other buttons work but no source screen which means I can't watch anything and I only watched it for a total of probably 3 hours didn't know RCA was that garbage . ...any idea what this could be ? maybe the bulb I'm going to open it up and check it out. Got no warranty on this one bought it off a friend .... model is RPJ-275. Thank you for your time if you can reply!

    I'm curious like my cats. I have a Canon EOS750D and I know where your going with this as the camera can also see IR the remote control inferred IR. It can see the flicker on the tv or projector or other sources I guess?
    I can see flicker on my tv not tried the projector yet. But I can see flicker on the tv using presently techwood 49" LED UHD 4k.
    If I switch the camera from manual mode to another mode AV I don't see any common flicker maybe I should check the camera settings. But I do see where your going with this.

    Nothing helps if the led driver (leds power source) gives that. My DLP has a battery and even if there is no ac power source, hdmi etc connected it gives that stroboscopic effect (like some LCD screens have) in menu screen.

Are you referring to an image burn in, meaning those circles show up on the screen when your apps are not there or are they only there when the apps are?

      Could be the bulb is dying, depending on how many hours of use. I think that is a DLP projector, those use something like a halogen bulb instead of a projector lamp. The dlp bulb can be very cheap and can fail quicklyThe good news is they’re fairly inexpensive to replace. Budget projectors can have a variety of issues like not getting enough ventilation, fan motor issues or even something as simple as needing to change the hdmi cable. I’d start there or even change the power cable if you haven’t yet. Then Change the projector’s placement, see if that helps. If the problem is still there I’m betting it’s your bulb. Hope that helps. I have the issue I noticed with my epson 6030 (white screen mostly, not 100% regular rate of flicker) but only on ECO (lamp low).
    It seems that as the bulb age they can have issue with the arc that it produces. The anoids apparently can seperate just a bit that the lower voltage and current causes it to flicker. Switching to normal or high lamp output solves the issues. I have over 2k hours on my bulb and even though I have a brand new bulb but my old bulb still looks crazy bright and great colors so I have not switched yet.
    It looks like 2 different causes for sure, what you did is what I though was going on and hours spent trying to solve it.. I found out about the bulb flicker issue that is common on many projectors in low power as the bulb ages.

    • @chrisj9008
      @chrisj9008 2 роки тому

      @@smileychess that sucks. Is it a factory buld?. Then I wonder of the drive system is working right.(capacitor / rectifiers / ballasts etc) sending out consistent voltage.
      Does the problem go away on high or normal output level?. The only real downside are a bit faster bulb burn out (really its small when you look at the cost over its life), and the fan runs in high which is the biggest downfall for me.

    Hi my projector doesn’t come with a remote or settings but it’s been flashing black

    • @Audiolympian
      @Audiolympian  3 роки тому

      Most projectors come with menu control buttons on them. The flashing could be a few things
      1. Your cable - hdmi or which ever cord you using
      2. Bad or weak bulb. Flashing usually occurs when the bulb life is reaching its end
      3. Bad fan, so it’s overheating
      4. Source. Perhaps a faulty DVD player or whatever you have connected to it.
      Hope that helps.
      Start with changing the cables first. That would be the easiest thing to do if you have extra ones.

      Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience with your projector. A couple of things here. I don’t think it’s the bulb, it could be but usually when the bulb goes out you won’t have any picture or activity but it could be. Im thinking in traveling with it perhaps the color wheel got out of alignment or the wheel motor went out so it’s not spinning or your input board went out both of those issues are common problems among budget projectors. You could get replacement parts but it would probably be better to get another projector. Those parts could cost up to $200. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting

      @@trevorjames5493 I agree that Sony projector would be noice! The color wheel (which looks like a small fan)can be a couple of places sometimes out in the open near the bulb or they can come as a whole unit in its own housing with the wheel and motor and a wire harness connects to it. They are a bit fragile so messing with them can make matters worse (speaking from experience) however, that’s how we learn stuff. Can’t make an omelette… ya know. Hope that helps.
