- On this weeks episode Johnny is joined by the singer of the influential Swedish metal band In Flames, Anders Fridén! The two reminisce on the UK tour they did together with Disturbed, as well as some festival stages they’ve shared together, and Johnny shares his early fandom of Anders and the In Flames shows he went to. With In Flames about to embark on their US headlining tour, the two dive into the beginning of the “metalcore” scene and its influence in Southern Californian bands. As the conversation between two friends continues, Anders shares his love for electronic music, collecting keys and synths along the way. From Johnny seeing the band a couple times in his youth at the Pomona Glass House, to sharing the stage together, these two have a lot to discuss on the music life.

having seen in flames before and after Broderick…. He was an amazing addition to the sound, the show, and songwriting of the band. I love when older bands get a new member and it revitalizes them, like Alex Bent for Trivium! ❤

In flames old music reminds me of dragons and castles. medieval times😍😆. their music is so amazing tho. I don't mind some of the new stuff at all but MAN every single early album was AMAZING and still gives me chills. I always try looking for melodic death metal bands that sound just like in flames..so if anyone knows any bands, comment!
There is some good Melodeath. There really is nothing that sounds exactly like In Flames which is something I've looked for. But Eyes Wide Open gives me new In Flames vibes. Heart of Gold by VILT is a good Melodeath song. All of Unearths The Wretched The Ruinous album reminds me of In Flames, especially Into the Abyss and Aniara. Pandora by Fit For An Autopsy has In Flames vibes too
