    These remind me of magnetic name badges waitstaff have. Same set up, and excellent way to reuse them!

    Even though you were very clear about how to be able to use these on a machine, I would gravitate more to using them with hand-sewing. Using them for hand sewing would make it easy to keep track of the needle also; just rest the needle on the magnet if the work had to be set aside, etc. Especially traveling in a car or on a train -- a nice way to keep track of such tiny things.

    I started using SewTites 6 months ago to hold my stabilizer to my paper frame for my machine embroidery hoops. I prefer the HD to the regular ones, as I found the regular ones were not strong enough to hold my stabilizer to the paper. As for the cost, they recently had a major price jump so I’m glad I bought them when I did. Because I agree they are now too expensive for what they do.

    Good Morning Laura from Melbourne. I looked up "Sewtites" for sale here in Australia. They are VERY expensive!!! I think I can manage without them. Cheers

    A cheaper option is to buy a set of name badge magnets. If you cover them with ribbon it gives you something to grab when you want to slide the magnets off their steel backing plates.

    I'm kind of surprised it took somebody this long to figure out to market those like that those are named badges they're pinless name badges and they were probably something before that

    I'm thinking of putting a command strip on the metal plate, sticking them to the wall, and then hang my quilt holding it with the front magnets. No rod needed.

    hi laura!....love your videos!...would these hold 6 layers of fabric?....i love making kaleidoscope quilts...using 6 layers of a repeated print and these would make it much easier after i line up the layers of print...it would lay much flatter and i think would hold the fabric tighter than pins for cutting the strips i would need for cutting out the equilateral triangles...plus i would be able to slide the magnetic instead of having to remove pins to cut which could shift my lined up print

  • @CaleanWsh

    Or, you can buy some strongish magnets and to it that way. A LOT cheaper too! These are VERY expensive for magnets!!!

  • @JuneDodge
    @JuneDodge 2 роки тому

    Hmm - around 4:30 you put the rectangle pieces on and they do not line up. So when FMQing one would have to be aware of where the bottom piece was so you wouldn't hit it with the needle. Perhaps it would be easy to do.
    Another thing to perhaps use these for would be to find pins that get knocked off a table - or a stray staple.

    • @ellenhofer3343

      By the needle, yes.
      I have started reading posts from people who use magnetic hoops saying the computers are going out on their machines. I'm concerned its the hoops & glad a rarely used my monster hoop. I gave it away.

    Be careful with these as they could be a serious problem if swallowed by young children…especially those smaller magnets shaped like hearts…

    Хрень полная. Покупать эти магниты, чтобы только с одной стороны скрепить... или по углам. Вес-то какой получается из-за магнитов!... еще и к пластине будет "липнуть", если попадет на нее. Даже не рассматриваю эти штуки.
