The crazy thing was that I turned 18 the day before I went to the academy. So they let me in. I definitely felt the age difference believe it or not. Especially when you’re living with these people. I ended up actually getting my high school diploma there. Really turned my life around. Ended up joining the marine corps afterwards.

The difference was I stopped after leaving camp and then I didn’t stop the next year. I took diet pills and didn’t eat anything- nothing. I mean nothing. Not one bite of food- for an entire week when I was 15 and I developed acidosis. That’s when your blood becomes too acidic too support life and you slip into a coma. Diane mentioned something about her Thyroid, and that breaks my heart. I knew a bunch of rich kids that got sent to "troubled teen" camps. If my parents had the cash they 100% would have sent me to fat camp while changing absolutely nothing that contributed to weight gain for me *and* them.
My dad always threatened me with military school. Always. I had a short streak where I wasn't caught doing anything so he hadn't mentioned it in a while. So I wanted to test the waters. I printed out some brochures for some schools and told him I wanted to go. He basically tripped over his words for 40 seconds and then told me "maybe next year". He never used it as a threat again. When I was a teenager, this show just taught me that curvy girls are hot. But you should also keep healthy!
Hey Oompa, I'm significantly older than you and my parents too used to threaten to send me to military school. It's a tale as old as ...military school. 😂
How is it you say exactly what I’m thinking the whole time I’m watching the outtakes…what a joke of a show, feel sorry for those who thought it was going to help but instead exploited them. Once again you nailed it
Funniest thing ever. Caleb was talking about how Petey was talking bad about Marissa and when Caleb went to say that Petey is also in fat camp, my phone switched to an ad and yelled AAAAPEEEE!!! It was so funny. “You know Petey, you’re also- AN APE!!!” Funny.
MTV post music era is something else man lol i remember 16 and pregnant playing one time and i felt the brain rot. Oh just bought some candy pretty excited to try it out!
I liked watching that one house flipper type show where they went “MOVE! THAT! BUS!”
I did too lol.
Extreme makeover: home edition ❤
2:25 I loved spike and deadliest warrior plus 1000 ways to die those shows were just crazy and I loved them! Not even forgetting River Monsters! So many memories
I knew a bunch of rich kids that got sent to "troubled teen" camps.
If my parents had the cash they 100% would have sent me to fat camp while changing absolutely nothing that contributed to weight gain for me *and* them.
3:50 petey had no hope 😭
They need updates on these people now and see how they’re doing a few decades later
Are you talking about my Chunk?!? Goonies say never die!”
The kid in Goonies was 'Chunk'
And his dance HE DIDN'T LIKE DOING was the truffle shuffle. It wasn't fun for him he was just being dogged on for being fat by his friends
sloth luv chunk
Interaction with Frankie and guy is hilarious😊
Bazinga
OH NON!!!
Why does bazinga become "They are surronded" when i translate it

My dad always threatened me with military school. Always. I had a short streak where I wasn't caught doing anything so he hadn't mentioned it in a while. So I wanted to test the waters. I printed out some brochures for some schools and told him I wanted to go. He basically tripped over his words for 40 seconds and then told me "maybe next year". He never used it as a threat again. Instead he just beat me when I did something wrong.
Real Life “Heavyweights” with Ben stiller lol
That was my first thought. lol That was a great movie! Stiller makes a great crazy person.
@@abovethenorm6521 i mean after all the “allegations” against him, you have to think he is crazy
Bruh. Do Bully Beatdown next. Best MTV show ever.
but always sunny is a show that i'm so surprised hasn't been cancelled yet because that one is wild 😂😂😂
Well they have removed a handful episodes of the show from streaming sites. I'd say that's at least a form of censorship against the show.
"It's so weird she's just lying like a psychopath, very odd, very odd behavior." 8:40 clearly Caleb has never talked to a teenage girl before. They lie a lot.
12:44 Obesity was declared a "global epidemic" in 1997 and is caused by multiple factors including larger portions, sedentary lifestyle and socioeconomics to name a few. ☮️
species bulking season, preparing for the overpopulation famine of 2044 (the cut)
Fat
I went through my senior yearbook with my daughter to show her the difference in weight between now and then, there were 2196 kids in my school and there was 16 fat girls and 1 that was morbidly obese, the guys it was 15 fat and 1 morbidly obese, in her yearbook 345 kids and half the kids were fat and 5 girls and 7 guys were morbidly obese( when I say morbidly obese I mean 100 lbs or more , and yes I was just guessing, I didn't go around and weigh them all)
@@sawkmicoc4287Cut gonna be biblical FR
Thing is most people think every thing on TV back then was ok at the time because they trusted the networks not to over step on anything. And we wouldn't have known when they did over step because nobody questioned what was put out from anyone at that time
After coming back from the fast paced videos from 2021, I'm loving the direction you took this channel
The transformation of TLC from an actual educational network funded by NASA to what it is today is as fascinating as it is disheartening.
You should really check out a reality show for kids where they lived in the wild wild west and competed for a gold star by being the best kid. Pretty sure it was called bonanza or something.
Kid Nation!! That was a wild show..
I grew up overweight and I went to a fat camp that actually really helped me then and I still used some of the things I was taught there now as an adult, it was nothing like what I just witnessed 😂
Nice to see oompaville going back to his favorite places
What I find interesting is that I was bullied for being really thin growing up. I barely used to scrape past 110/115 lbs (i am 5'3.5"), getting on hrt slowed my metabolism and now I sit at around 170-180. I am very happy with my weight and my lil tum :33 everything needs to be in moderation, too much of anything is bad for you. Even water!!
The Duggars are so gross. There's quite an expose' about them on Prime Video.
Your editors editing style is more unhinged than a teenagers door after her alcoholic father kicked it in (he found out she hasnt done his dishes in 30 minutes so that door is really unhinged)
Sounds super specific.....
blink twice if you need help lol
I feel seen
I went there when I was 10, it was my only camp experience. The work outs were brutal for kids to have to do and I was too scarred to finish the obstacle course. My mom worked as the receptionist for the owner to get me a discount, the dude was super mean and yelled alot. I always get excited when I see people talking about it. I think this was filmed the year before I went.
"I'm from a bad place" shows Virginia😂 can't be that bad is it?
As someone who also grew up in Virginia, yes, it surely can.
Nah, I've lived in Virginia my whole life. It's beautiful. We get all four seasons, we're on the coast, but we also have tons of forests, lakes, rivers, and mountains, and the wildlife is pretty tame and pretty. We're also in the middle between the northeast and the southern states, so there's a lot of different people and personalities.
It's not bad unless you live near Richmond or Danville or near DC
Oh... yeah, Richmond is pretty bad...
My parents also threatened military school when I was younger. Jokes on them I joined 12 years ago…… wait I’m the fool here.
I wanted to go to fat camp so bad after I saw this show. I was about 10 lbs from being underweight at the time, but body dysmorphia and all.
What makes this video even better. I had my son sit and watch heavyweights with me today. Haha
WAKE UP! OOMPA posted
Im awakeee
Grab a brush and put on a little bit of makeup
My sister seen this, went to the camp. Lost a ton of weight, came home and my dad learned from her.
It’s wrong, but it did get the gears turning in some teens heads.
You mentioned Jack ruby. Back in the late eighties his niece was my girlfriends BFF. Tall blonde, very pretty
NICE
nice
thanks for reminding me how awesome MTV used to be
bae wake up-a new oompaville video just dropped (im single)
Oompa being home schooled really shows lol
I loved watching Silent Library. Hilarious show man.
Me too, when we used to hang out with my cousin, all the time, before our family, went downhill,he would come over, and we sometimes did our own silent library,it was fun,and hilarious
The fruit and walnut salad may not have been "healthy", but I sure do miss it 😭😭 Wish they'd bring it back.
Aunty kris sent me❤

Calling me out on pizza rolls when I’m taking them out of the toaster over😂
Instead of watching the new we all just need to watch oompville😂
The Bowling for Soup song in the background near the beginning XD
Such a sign of the times then lol
Oompa's videos fill me with their WIDE GIRTH
Yall remember the nightmare that was world's strictest parents. That show was WILD
Franky plushies when
Heavyweights!! That was such a great movie!
Let's not forget about the show teen mom
My dad was my biggest bully about my weight. I can't imagine that any of these kids felt safe at home, let alone at that camp.
Fatdemic 2: The Chubbening
I unironically watched these shows when I had an ED; my sit-up entertainment
Okay
Why is this now the first
I actually felt really bad for the girl getting bullied, you can hear that sadness in her voice. I have a young daughter and her being sad is the worst thing in my world. she’s someone’s child :,(
Watching this as I eat an entire chocolate bar
🦛?
My parents used to threaten selling us to Gypsies if we were bad haha 😆
ALPHA
Glad you pointed it out, oomp. The craziest thing about all this to me is just that... these kids just aren't that overweight...
Especially for uh... HELLO? PRETEENS?
I know more than a few people who put on weight when puberty hit in jr high that are at a healthy weight as adults. And I bet they'd be worse off today if they'd been subjected to something like this...
I love that in the last 40 minutes the thumbnail has changed lol
What was the original title? I imagine thats why he pinned the bot. As call me out for... while this is here.
@@steve7814 nah I think he had to change the thumbnail because it was against community guidelines
@@findingmyspitfire2441 I agree with that. But pinning the obvs bot is also calling out how the algo dings him for this, while bots are rampant and obvious.
Also the sad reality is that camps treatment of bigger kids (I was one of them) was very similar to the way Diane was treated. You have no contact with the outside world, everything is confiscated, some kids hoard food in their room because they don’t eat enough plus all the bullying lol oh CPT our summer home 😂
bricked rn
one time my older sister made me mad or whatever and a commercial for this came on and i said "you should go on that" and got the beating of my life (deserved)
bro looks the same after 4 years.
