To those complaining about the video, what I have presented here is the troubleshooting process I used to identify the issue of microphone irresponsiveness as concise as possible to not waste anybody time. I tried all the solutions or ideas I proposed, and finally ended up with the solution I found! It might be unhelpful for some facing different issues, but beneficial for people experiencing the same problem. It would be appreciated if you could also share your experiences here if you've found other solutions to the problem! Thank you, and welcome everyone!
For whatever reason even with mfi certified adapter my iphone 12 is still not taking audio from the external mic or maono podcasting pad I am trying to connect it to :(
Tbh i don’t know, it is my first time I know about those mics, but from the pictures, probably yes with the correct adaptor, let me know ur findings if you will try it☺️
My blue yeti works great through Filmic Pro app on my iPhone but the normal iPhone camera does not pick up the full audio from the blue yeti. Why would this be?
I have the official lightning to TRRS cable and I bought a TRS to TRRS cable (by DUKABEL) and plugged my Audio Technica mic into it ( with a new battery). Still won't work. Any ideas?
You were right, mine was certified but in the description on Amazon it did actually say it wasn’t for OTG :( it’s just for charging (which is great because I still needed it, but i unfortunately still need an adapter for my iPhone and iPad)
Brother i want to connect my mixer audio to my iphone i purchased original connector from amazon but it is not working with 2 pin aux connector but it is working with android please solve the problem
Sorry for late reply, were you using a TRS connector to connect the mixer to the lightning to headphone jack adapter? If yes, you have to use the TRS-TRRS cable where the TRS connected to mixer and TRRS to the adapter.
Nah irrelevant if you have direct lightning to lightning. There are no external mics that work with that, just a load of badly designed shite. I have tried Boya and Rode. Both shit.
i have 2 mfi certified and still not working! work at my other iphone 8 that doesn’t need the adaptor so the mic is good! i don t know what to do anymore
Have you tried with something like the Movo MC3 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable. One side must have 3 lines on its connector if it does not it is not the correct cable and will not work with a lightning to 1/8 audio adapter.
@@RandomInfo03 the adapter dongle said it was certified. Mic finally worked when I purchased an actual apple dongle. Thank you for the video and your response.
ah really in my case, it was the adapter that I bought at the beginning wasn't MFI certified even though it has a similar price of the certified ones. Could you tell me how you are connecting it ? is your external mic defected? have you tried it on other devices ?
@@RandomInfo03 i have too mics, olde onr (with 3 circles on the jack) and a brand new Rode. Rode has just 2 circles so I think that could be a problem as well. So my adapter is from target. Do you think it may not be certified?
Another thing, my old mic now, when I plug it in iPhone and I start recording just starts Siri, without me asking for it, does it mean I broke the mic or the adapter?
@@AnastasiiaKing the old one with the 3 Circles has a so-called TRRS connection which is useful when connecting your mic to your "phone", while the other one with just two circles called TRS is for camera/ stereo. check on the box or online if they have stated that your connector is " MFI= Made For Iphone" and has the logo i showed in the video.
@@AnastasiiaKing try the old mic without the adapter on your laptop ? if it is working, then it might be an adapter problem. But to be honest, I'm not so sure! do you have the same problem if you plug a wired headphone ?

Bro thank you so much! I figured that might be the issue. I'm using an aftermarket adapter. You're only video that has this information. Thank you!!

Have you find a solution?
Apple= very selfish
It's not just apple, it's doing it on my android too :< samsung flip6
This didn't help me.
sorry but i did what you said and still not working...on an iphone 14 pro max.....
Same here
..
And luck? I’m having same problem.
Any luck?
Mine works on the voice memo app and a mic testers online but wont work when recording a video
Same, I think we can't fix this issue
same with mine
Does irig voice mic (not irig mic) work with iPhone 13 thought the correct adaptor?
Tbh i don’t know, it is my first time I know about those mics, but from the pictures, probably yes with the correct adaptor, let me know ur findings if you will try it☺️
I bought original adapter, but it is not working!
I've got a box full of MFI certified adapters. Some work, some don't. Seems random.
ohh seems like some are pretending to be MFI by sticking a logo on the box ?
My adapter is MFI and doesn’t want to connect (hollyland Lark M1)
My mic has an aux and headset split in the back. It was working for months and randomly stopped working a few weeks ago… I can’t find a solution

use a regular lightning cable with an OTG adapter, they are like $10. No need for 3.5mm jack at all.
@@JunkBondTrader The mic has a male 3.5mm so I can't ignore it. I finally figured it out.
@@jcstevegigswhat does that mean?
@@kingdrift1136 It means the Dukabel brand i bought had the right connections but wasn't compatible with Apple products.
This worked!!!!!!
