- We will write an equation of a parabola in vertex form and standard form. Remember the vertex form of a parabola is y=a(x-h)^2+k and the standard form of a parabola is y=ax^2+bx+c.

acctually helped a lot (my teacher cannot teach but you can)
yes
You are a great teacher. This video helped me understand how to write an equation for a parabola and how to solve for a.
Lynette Boling you're welcome 😊
Doing project last minute didnt know how to do it and I am now in love with this man.
you forgot to add no homo
Same here 💀💀💀
@@playgorund299 maybe he didn't
This just shows me that I was way overthinking and overcomplicating this when I learned this in high school. Thank you for making this much more coherent and simple to understand!
Taught me more in 5 mins than my teacher did all unit. Thank you!
My teacher does it a different way, but I understand this way much more. Thank you sooo much!
this was super helpful, thank you for teaching so clearly and explaining every step and for having so much enthusiasm! this was actual interesting to watch and learn from!
Really helpful thank you! I was trying to find how to solve for "a" and finally found this video! It seemed really complicated but now it makes so much sense. Thank you again!!
Thanks a lot bro I have a test in parabolas and that stuff tomorrow morning so you were really helpful, thanks!
That's a great video - thank you; a clear and concise explanation!
Thank you so much, this was the one question for my culminating task I couldnt figure out, you have blessed me with your knowledge, I don't know how you explained it so well but it worked! :)
This helped a lot thank you
Very helpful video!! Thank you!
Thank you so much! i was having trouble understanding this part of quadratics until i found this video.
you are a blessing to UA-cam
Just wanna say thanks you helped me so much
this helped so much! i have a quiz tomorrow and i am excited to try it out
thank you so much!!!! i was stressing last minute not knowing how to do this but now i do, so thankful!!
Thank you so much I wish you were my teacher
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER THANK YOU
Thank you, now I get it better. But is there a way to get the standard form without getting the vertex form?
this helped me a lot, thank you so much
in finding the compression can't you just count how many times the dots move over if its on a line
TYSM ILY (good teacher)
I’m using this 4 years after it was published and it’s still usefull
His printing on the whiteboard is so much better that mine and he was hold two things while doing it lol. Aside from that this video was super helpful for me I have my exam in 8-9 hrs I'm doing some late night reviewing/studying
Thanks, helps a lot man.
this helped me a lot thank you
my teacher sucks at teaching so this helped me a lot :))
Omg, you explained what my teacher explained in class the same way but I was distracted in class making me binge yt videos about this tyyy
Thanks for your help :D
I love you i think u just saved my life
Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks this helps a lot
hi thank god i saw this video!!! this is so helpful 😍😍
general/standard form begins at 4:06
THANK YOU, YOU SAVED ME
Thank u so much sir!!!
I’m not sure if this is gonna sound weird or not but, I’ve been a subscriber for quite some time and honestly, you’ve gotten me through high school pretty much...Ive always struggled with math and your channel has always been there for me when there was nowhere else to go and no one to turn to , I’ve never really received a genuine “ I’m proud of you son “ from my parents and seeing you smile all the time kinda makes me feel like I’m receiving an “ I’m proud of you” ...my parents were always busy, working people and rarely ever were free to have even a small word with me ...so I kinda took care of myself for most of my life after my grandfather past ...I just wanna day you’ve been the best father figure to me💜 much love sir...I hope you’re staying safe during these times ...I hope all of you are.🌸
Head up dawg We’ll all make it
( x - h)^2 = 4p ( y - k ) [ for a parabola opening up or down ]
( x - 3 )^2 = 4p ( y + 4 )
(0, 5 ) is on the parabola, therefore : ( - 3 )^2 = 4p ( 5 + 4 )
9 = 36p
p = 1/4
so the parabola is : (x - 3 )^2 = y + 4
Can’t believe that a simple 5min video is now gonna make me pass my algebra class after 2 months failing 🤪
THANK YOU
yeo this guy is the real homie thanks !!!
thank you so much
Hi, Sir. Hopefully you reply to this. What's the difference of formula of parabola in (× - h)²=4a( y -k) and to the vertex form of y=a(×-h)²+k. Thank youu
This was exactly what I was looking for thank you so much you're beautiful 😭😭😭
Does anyone know the transformations he used?
saved my math grade thanks sm!!!
Tysm bro
Wow I didn’t even know we can do this even tho I’m at my year 10 and just learned this, I thought the only way to get a was to get the root and expand to quad form and get its a from the axsqur+bx+c,
Didn’t know we could use the any x,y value to sub in the equation
Can you please tell me what is the name of the form (y-k)^2 = 4p(x-h) ?
For this kind of parabola, It would be easier to do it in double bracket form
y=(x-1)(x-5)
Plugging the (x-3) (x-3) in a square would be easier for most people :') great video thanks. (Helpin me with my exams)
Lol a month later but I'm using this for my exam in 8-9 hrs from now
This man saved my life
1:21 be like a Minecraft villager. But actually thanks, as I did not know how to do this when my teacher explained it
Thank you so much. My teacher was not a good explainer .
mans is holding a thermal detonator
Am I the only one that clicked on this video thinking, he's Asian so he has to be smart
yep
I did that
Hell yeah man
cant we just use this equation?:- k[x²+(alpha+beta)x+(alpha*beta)]
ilysm
Ima give u a kiss I almost cried doing hw
Hello Mr. Blackpenredpen
My guy
i almost lost my mind
Did you
Did you make a mistake by saying (1,0) should it not be (0,1)
Deewas Timsina no, because 1 is on the x axis and 0 is on the y axis
I’m fucking autistic or dumb for math I can’t remember and idk if it’s from childhood ptsd because I know other things make me sad but FUCK I HAVE A FINAL and I can’t explain because if I get cps called on me my family will whoop my ass and I don’t take therapy
what?
i mean, if you are in highschool and you still can't understand this then you must be real dumb
hand in marriage?
i cant hear yu clearly
