Or maybe a fighting type run again would be interesting, the last one of those was a year ago. And in terms of interesting games to do it on would be X, Y or one of the newer games like sword, shield, scarlet or violet If no better plans though
Love your vids as always. Can i suggest one nuzloke run here? It would be amazing if you can do a only bug crystal nuzloke run alm the way until red. And as a 2nd part of the run (maybe you could do a new series of this as a post game series) try to do a complete run at the battle tower after beating red with softlock rules (if your team loses you cannot use same 3 pokemon together anymore so you have at least to change 1 in order to try again). So if you beat red you pokemon should do the lvl of the closest lvl posible (probably lvl 70) That would be amazing cos the battle tower cheats (3 horn drill in a row is one of my darkest memories back them when i was a kid playing battle tower with a supper slow pc so i watched that hp bar dissappear in lile 15secs) Best regards!!
Just something I wanted to point out: in the cliff cave you can actually repel manipulate encounters to get a Steelix, you just make sure a Pokémon at level 23 is at the front of your party which I can understand if you couldn’t do it
Ground type is high among my favorite, and heart gold and soul silver speak for themselves as the most incredible games in the franchise. I'm so excited to see this one!
@@mjja4783I agree though. Pokemon following. Beautiful scenery. 2 regions. Many legendaries to catch. Challenging postgame because you can re battle the gymleaders and battle red. But for me its mostly the scenery
Just want to give a shout out to the grinding you do for these vids. Whether it be the game corner, EV training or just getting your pokemon leveled to Red's pokemon, the work you put in is next level. As always, cheers for the content.
WOW dude. Giving props to Giddy, Entity and the Nidos at the end, but straight up NOT acknowledging Ric *completely invalidating* your team's biggest weakness? #JusticeforRic
The Golem line is one of the best early game pokemon you can obtain. Strong against Falkner, Bugsy and Jasmine, also a female geodude with rock smash and defense curl is good against whitney. In Kanto is good agaisnt Brock, Surge and Blaine
Could've easily saved that dugtrio against red if you had switched your quagsire in on his laprass and then could've yawned it beat it then continued the yawnin until victory
I needed a new Silph Spectre episode today. I started watching like a month ago and I've watched every one twice at this point, Monotype nuzlocke content is my comfort thing at the moment I guess? And you have some of the best out there, keep it up
The way you approached the Red battle was weirdly clumsy. Pikachu was set-up fodder for Donphan. His moveset could've been modified to solo sweep Red pretty easily. Could've set up sandstorm with Quagsire, swapped to Donphan with a moveset of substitute, rock polish, earthquake, and a coverage move for Charizard.
27:53 most competitive players have never had a Sub last as long as the one created here, and the only reason it broke is because you were forced to switch
Gliscor is my favorite ground type Pokémon ❤️ wish I had more opportunities to use it through a play through though :( Also it’s shiny is amazing! ♥️♥️♥️
@@onslaught6677 I meant in the scope of a casual playthrough, not competitive. my point is it’s very well documented how good a mon like gyarados is for a casual playthrough or nuzlocke, but i think gliscor is just about as good. at least to me.
Okay I have a question. Are all my games glitched because every time an enemy opponent used roost and I hit it with a move that WAS ONLY SUPEREEFECTIVE against FLYING types, I still get the super effective damage
I just heard that a few days ago when you go in the cave before Safari zone and get a Pokémon at lvl 19 in front of your team with repel you have a chance for a wild Steelix. I love the remakes as I started Pokemon with Crystal in 2001 and for me they're the best Pokémon games, together with Emerald and Crystal
Another cool run. Ground Type is the only type that doesn't have a specialist in Johto, so this was exciting to watch. Cool to see Donphan, Quagsire, and the Nidos together used. Shame we couldn't see Gliscor used, but considering how much of a pain it is to get in most games, it's understandable.
I'm currently standing in front of red in ss on a poison type playthrough. I've always loved poison types(crobat tentacruel nidoking and gengar have always been hard-core favs of mine) but I've never used a drapion and I haven't used a victreebel since I was a child(silver first play through). I have a very deep respect for sniper nights lash cross poison drapion and sunny day solar beam leaf blade chlorophyll vicreebell. Sweepers for sure!
I wouldn't go for allowing pokemon that will gain the necessary type unless it's the first one you catch and there's none for a while. By these same rules, why wouldn't Altaria have been allowed in the normal run?
I can understand if it was due to time pressure for the video, but i just got to mention it. Dont recall which day but one day a week there is no hail on mt silver so you wouldn't have to waste a turn on sandstorm and just OHK the pikachu and have dugtrio at full hp.
At this point, I'm sure the only reason he decided to give the rival Totodile and not Chikorita is because the rival fight in Azalea would've been impossible to beat with the team Silph had at that point, going against a potential Bayleef. He had a Geodude, Wooper, and Sandshrew. I really, really can't see him defeating a Bayleef that has Razor Leaf with those guys. But also, giving him Totodile is a joke, given that his Wooper had water absorb. So Bayleff would've been impossible to beat in Azalea, and Croconaw is a joke with water absorb wooper. Though I agree that it would've been interesting to see him try and strategize and come up with a plan to try and beat the rival's Bayleef. Would've made things more interesting and challenging.
Honestly I don’t even know who would be the mvp of this team. Every Pokémon performed exceptionally well and all of them did what they were supposed to do with some surprising results. If I have to pick one I would have to also pick giddy just because I didn’t expect a dugtrio to be that useful but he did amazing. Finally I would consider this a deathless run because it’s almost impossible to keep a deathless monotype run when facing red. This was one of my favorite runs you’ve done and I’m excited to see some more. Maybe more scarlet and violet ribs? :)
Bro no way, I just did this run myself! The Ground type is the only type without a specialist in HGSS (Giovanni is gone and Green/Blue has no preferred type), so I became the master of grounded, or based, Pokémon. That’s awesome Silph, I wonder what you’ll do differently from me
I was missing a lot those runs I saw you post something about kingler on Twitter, how about a Water team on HGSS with only water pokemons you never used in a hardcore nuzlocke

Deathless until Red...yep, this was one of your best challenge runs yet. Always good to see you upload. 😁 So, just curious, how has life been treating you? Hopefully things are good with you. Haven't heard anything about your 'big project' in quite some time, is that going well?
Great video as always! Have you considered trying out a hardcore nuzlocke with older generation games like RBY or GSC? I imagine a mono bug type nuzlocke in RBY would be very challenging and fun.
I kind of miss when he did solo runs. The Nuzlockes are fun in their own way. But these challenges had a fun kind of personality to them. Again this was a good run. Ground Pokemon are strong.
Could you do a gen 1 playthrough please? Also best part about the pryce battle is him saying "seems as if my luck has run out" when defeated. No wonder you didn't show that part

You can get Onix before Falkner - you must catch Bellsprout and teade it in house near PokeCenter.
IDK if it's eligible encounter for you.
Rip quagsire😢 and it's one of the best mono type nuzlocke on you're channel
The naming convention is Mad Max! This one was a bit harder than the others, but People Eater and Rockatan really gave it away to me.
I haven’t watched any of the Mad Max films, so I wouldn’t know.
Thank you for sharing.
