For ladder smash, I recommend trying it with 2 ladders next to each other, too. It adds a bit of nuance to the game, especially when you have to recover

Its unfortunate that Nintendo made it rather difficult to find some of these, especially since stages just not existing (and codes being dead) are very real things after a while.

Something I wish Smash did more was make minigames like these. It's always 1-2 additions that are fun for a few minutes and then cut from the next installment.
Yeah, Smash really sucks for being the best selling fighting game as well as a game that Sakurai insists should not have become competitive (really dumb expectation). Dragon Ball FighterZ managed things so much better and even ended with a free character.

For Ladder Smash, the ONLY song that's allowed is Snake Eater

@@ApplesWasTaken the trick I've used is to have two platforms placed below where you want the start. Use the gear and move it very far out to the side, then set its speed max. Make sure the gears move in opposite directions. If you start a simulation, you'll see the platforms fly off screen. To prevent them from coming back, line up the gears in such a way that when they fly off screen, they hit each other and get completely stuck.

Me and my friends use to have a thing called a "raid system" where we would team up against a raid boss with a spirit build and we would have to try to kill it and it was the greatest thing ever
Did that against 4 ganons on a massive stage, it was super fun.
I still have ptsd from fighting medusa superslow armor peter griffin...
I used to do that with an indestructible Ganondorf amiibo I have. It's so strong that me and two other people ganging up on it can't beat it.
Raid Ridley with Pharana plant and Peach is still one of my worst enemy's to this day
I did something similar to this with my friends! I called it Juggernaut mode. One person would get a spirit build of their choosing and everyone else (3-7 players) would try to take down the one person. It was more fun than regular battle because it was either fun to do teamwork and beat tf out of the player that was Juggernaut or BE the Juggernaut and absolutely annihilate everyone in one or two shots! Crazy fun game mode, try it with friends if you can.

I wish Smash Ultimate had built-in win conditions for games like these. Maybe next Smash game.
We had one called "The Cage" where everyone spawned on top of a box with three small openings. Everyone jumps into the box and star beating each other up until the damage gets crazy and we start flying around. Anyone who gets thrown out of the cage through the small holes are out. Starting at 300% is funny af.

For Payload I recommend having TWO payloads in a payload RACE.

If you dont know how to have 1hp, set the runners health handicap to 10hp, and give them the Dan spirit, the trade-off attack stat will put you down to 1 health.

Pinball Wizard: Find a stage where the starting spawn is in a large box with no way out and has walls close together. Then start wailing on each other. You will start to pinball around and eventually with enough damage clip out of the box. If that happens, you lose. A friend of mine and I did this and we both found it absolutely incredible.
Still more fun than the Adventure Mode
My brothers and I made our own tag game mode. Basically, you set the launch distance to 2.0, set everyone’s percent to 300%, and set a time limit of 4minutes or so. These rules make it so almost every move kills. When the game starts, the first person to die is “it,” they then have to kill someone else to “tag” them and make them “it.” Those who aren’t it can kill the “it” person with no repercussions, but if you sd or kill someone else who isn’t “it,” you are then “it.” Whoever is “it” when the time runs out loses, and that person then starts out “it” for the next round.
We like to play on the Mario maker stage and pick random, so that every game is different, but you don’t have to.

Aside from payload, my favorite ruleset is "Death to 0."
Basically, enable all of the small healing items (food and that one pod that creates a healing circle) and crates. You and your opponent start at 150% and the first person to reach 0% wins
Another one is what i call „pokemon smash“ basically you just turn off everything other than pokeballs, each get a side of the map and whenever a ball drops it goes to whoveres side its on.
You also cant attack your opponent, you can only deal damage with pokemon from the pokeballs. Thats basically it, its quite fun

I made a gamemode where it’s a stamina battle on a custom stage that’s just a box with no openings so no one can fall off the edge, that means all you have to do is get the most damage in

My friend siliker on yt actually invented ladder smash it’s super fun we even made a tier list for it in our own time
I like smashket ball. There’s a smashket ball stage online, with two cannons at the end, similar to volley ball the players try to kill a Kirby ball, via launching it into the cannons. Given the angles where they are, it’s harder than it sounds to aim it right (unless you using Ridley, the side special will always land it)
At the end of the timer, who ever got the most kills wins.
You can have both players be on the same team if you want friendly fire.
The downward wind stage would probably make the traditional fighter characters kind of OP
I use to make stages with tons of latters in Stage Builder when I played Super Smash Bros Brawl when I was 7-8 years old. Tons of fun.
If you use explodable platforms that can’t respawn and explode them at the start then you can do an Ariel fight. Keep in mind the cpus can’t go on this map as they just don’t understand it.
Smash Fortress is a gamemode i learned about in tf2 today, and now i have learned about tf2 in smash bros

Reduce the time to 1/4, set both players to 300%, Pit only on Skyworld. It’s so much fun.
Tag seems like hell 1 on 1. It's just too easy for some characters to run away.
Make it multiple hunters, though, and turn it into life or death pacmam. That sounds amazing.
The car is Not MoVING getlemens
The Payload mode reminds me of Tower Control from Splatoon where you jump and stand on the Tower to move it the farthest before the other team. This has to be a mode in future platform fighters.
Me and my friends always play Poke volleyball. Have pokeballs and master balls on. Use reflector characters and try to send powerful pokemon to your opponents side and try to avoid or reflect your opponents throws
Two that I came up with a long time ago were 1)"Megaman mode" where I only used Fox's neutral b lasers to do damage against an enemy with stamina mode on.
2) "Juggernaut" Where it's 1v 2-3, team attack on or off. Use the handicap mechanic to make the team players easier to kill and the juggernaut harder to kill

Payload is just TF2,even a guy made the same thing with a payload map from TF2
I I made a stage in brawl called “Banana Ball” where you both are Diddy Kong and try to get the banana in the opponents goal. It was so much fun

As soon as I saw the Payload stage I immediately went to the comments knowing that there would be several TF2 references
I really like this one called dodgeball. Only items allowed are throwing items, and the stage is that one mario one with the turtles. Thw idea is to not use your moves, other than just jumping dodging and throwing the projectiles
Not mentioning smashketball is wild
The volleyball is just a torture device for Kirby
As a Kirby main I hate how kirby has to be the ball 😭

I play using the King slime spirit, Smash meter, heavy smash, 200hp stamina mode, and the KOF stage for some cheesy fighting game nonsense. I love these minigames
Okay what about at the payload there is 2 rounds where each player defends and attacks
wind stages with ice go crazy because you can actually wavedash like melee luigi it’s crazy
Tried out these gamemodes (modified ladder gamemode so it has 2/3 ladders next eachother) all of them are great!!!
Payload reminds me a lot of Splatoon
Reminds me of the custom player game modes on Halo since they added forge (stage builder)
I made a stage where the wind goes up at a perfect speed so when you choose mario you float perfectly still in the air. It leads to some fun gameplay where you can float around using extra jumps and fast falling to maneuver around the various moving platforms, trying not to get hit too far.

At one point I built a stage with Lava at the bottom and nothing but vertically moving walls... so the only way to fight was in the air or doing wall clings...

I uploaded a stage that’s the opposite of the downward wind, it blow up instead, Keep in mind that Fox falls too fast for the wind to hold him up and Jigglypuff falls too slow to fast fall through the wind
I imagine all the original subscribers seeing him post a video only to be shocked to see him in tight shirts and tight shorts

For wiiU smash I did THE BOX each person jumps in a hazard filled box and without fighting they try to outlast the other as there’s spikes falling floors and other goodies

me and my brothers we used to play 2 v 2 on custom map volleyball all the time with the soccerball we played it for hours on end
