I have lilac shrubs smell wonderful every spring! I have that sweet elegance rose. I grow catmints as companion plants, they look super pretty together!

How am I not hearing the cicadas in your videos?! All I hear are sweet birds. Did you luck out and not get any?
We had a lot but far fewer than most of the older neighborhoods around us. Ours is only about 20 years old and the trees were very small when they were planted. Our cicadas seemed to emerge about two weeks later than the ones in Chicago.
I've found the only issue with the Lilac you have is that it reseeds horribly. They are beautiful though.
Really? I’ve not had that problem. At least not yet.
