Thanks. I lived in Whittier until 1971, and remember this stretch of roads. It looks completely different now - a lot more signs, a lot of new structures that weren't there before and a lot more squished together looking, to me anyway.
I clearly remember a Hunts factory that made ketchup near the corner of Whittier Blvd. and Beach Blvd. I wouId pass it on the way south. I like ketchup, but during the manufacturing process is smells awful.
I used to live in La Habra back in '85 til '90. Is that a trip up Beach Blvd? There are so many things that have changed since then!! I don't see the Bob's Big Boy restaurant on the right side before Lambert Rd. There used to be a car wash joint at the intersection of Beach Blvd. and Whittier Blvd. There also used to be a classic car lot on BOTH corners of Beach and Whittier Blvd. I don't see them either. I know things can't stay the same and it's been 25+ years since I've been back but things were just a little easier back then. Thanks for the memory trip.
This where I grew up miss it so much, too expensive to live there, went to LA HABRA HIGH SCHOOL, miss my old life, neighborhood, I hate being nostalgic. La Habra not a well know SOCAL city but different.
They redid the intersections at Beach/Whittier, Fashion Square/Beach, and La Habra/Beach in the recent 5 years Also at scott they have a new shopping center
Use to live there and loved it, best place in California.
And it still is
