Hello matthew, im planning to buy s21fe next month, is it still worth to buy it even this is 2yrs old phone? and i'm a bit worried, what will happened after security update done? Is it still safe to use the phone, because some people said when the phone is finish for security update this is prone for hacker?? once i buy a new mobile i am planning to use it for at least 4yrs.
I use this phone, its good, camera is btr than most budget phones and screen and speakers are good......battery life is not so good though......can't wait for the update to reach Africa so we can see wat improvements have been made

I updated my phone and my display is all yellowish, the eye comfort is off and i tried all that vivid display settings and all but my display is still all yellowish idk what to do with this Bug... really really disappointed with such bug
Great review Matt. But I would still go with the S21 ultra Pay little extra to get a overall well Rounded better device now hard up on cash. Then absolutely the f e would be the best option
I paid USD 265 for 8/256 GB version on March 29 2024. Very nice phone, 4500 mAh, none glass backside cracking, 6.4 inch, 5g, 120 Hz, dual sim, 32Mpx Selfi and more. Very nice phone, good price and great 4500 mAh battery.
If you have snapdragon option. I think better s21 fe since s20 series is not thay great compare to s21 flagship series. Hence this s21fe is a good option if you can get snapdragom variant

I think you should judge that 1 week later because my S22 Ultra battery's life also dropped a bit after One UI6.0(Android14) update, but around 10 days later it got better than the previous software version. I think the phone learned my usage pattern, making battery usage more efficient .

Same, I'm in the UK, but I have the US Snapdragon chip version. Strange that the FE got the update before us! Got trolled the other day by Samsung, got a update, but it was the December security patch!!!!! I think it'll be 2024 when we get it now.
I am very familiar with both. FE is a superior phone, it's closer to flagship. 6a is fast, but is mid-range overall. 6a finger print reader is somewhat poor and don't work all the time, that's the biggest negative about the phone. Speaker are tinny sounding also, loud enough but no bass. The still camera and portrait mode is excellent on pixel, I have not use any phone cameras with more accurate portrait mode than Pixel, yes better than iPhones. Basically only buy Pixel phones if you intend to use GrapheneOS and take good still photos.

@@libralife420 This is official from Samsung, start with S21 devices and newer gets: four generations of One UI and five years of security updates. The S21 FE was released in Jan 2022, so with Samsung promise you should be receiving security update until Jan 2027. And likely you will get Android 16 as the last major Android version. I bought two Google Pixel to try out something different, but I'm giving it to my family member, I actually bought another S21FE 256gb. I could have trader in for the S23FE but I didn't feel that model have enough of an update too justify an additional $300 after trade in. Phones these days are powerful and far enough, no reason to waste money on latest models, save it for more important things in life.

I don't consider this phone a older flagship. It came out almost same time as s22 series. It's still a ton of value.

This phone came out with android 12 and promised 4 years of android updates so it's bound to get the android 16 as the final one.
pretty sure it was 3 os updates and 4 years of security. So no. Its android 15 as last major update + 1 year of security.
