      I dont know about dribbling..lol? He was good but he aint better than alot of other guys including Iverson..lol. AI made U look silly & go the other way & make U fall flat on your face with his Crossovers..lol.He would make the defenders skate..lol.
      I would give J-Will more credit on his passing skills. Around the back pass off his elbow was mad crazy..lol. I had to see the replay to actual see what he did & his passes were accurate & lighting quick even the ones behind his back from half court..lol.

      Justin Yau You're wrong I've lived in Philly my entire life and was a big sixers fan through his entire career. He was one of the most athletic players to play the game. When he played football he was a michael vick clone. He used to iron man playing QB WR and CB. AI was a sick handler but he wasn't the best. He was just very well rounded (Not so much defense, but every AI needs an Eric Snow)

    • @justinyau3560
      @justinyau3560 9 років тому

      Jeffrey Riley How am I wrong..lol? AI isnt known for being athletic..lol. D-Rose, Steve Francis (who displayed his althletism in the dunk contest), Same as Spud Webb & Nate Robinson..lol. Now all these players have demonstrated their althletism. Not saying AI doesnt have a little bit of it. But hes well better known for his dribbling skills&ankle breaking moves..lol. Hes a finesse player&uses his skill & NOT his althletism..lol.Only in his early rookie yr he showed just a little bit..lol.
      AI has the best handles in the game&no one could ever crossover better than he could..lol. Name me some better??? Tim Hardaway wasnt as good. When AI got older in his career he learned that he didn't need the crossover all the time &learned to change speeds. Very underrated part of ball handling & also having good foot work also.

    Here’s something to keep in mind, the rules for ballhandling have changed over the years. That’s why so many old people cry about carrying and traveling today. Back when Cousy was playing the hand can only be on the top third of the ball or something like that. So to me, when you consider Maravich and the rules he played in, he has to be on the Mount Rushmore.

    Kenny Anderson is BY FAR the best ball handler to EVER do it! What separates Kenny from all of the candidates that I have seen listed so far is that Kenny didn't just have one move....he had a multitude and variety of several moves, and they were all done by instinct! Yes, A.I. had the killer crossover (which he picked up from a player in D.C. by the way), but that was it. Yes, Shammgod had that European pull-back dribble....but that was it. And yes, Rafer had that little skip to my lou dribble...BUT THAT WAS IT! But Kenny? Man...he had a behind the back dribble, a spin move that was second to none, a deadly crossover so quick that was easy to miss, and a hesitation dribble that literally made players fall (GTech vs. Michigan State 90-91 NCAA Tournament). And all of Kenny Anderson's moves were instinctual. In other words, he wasn't dribbling down the court thinking about using a particular move, they just happened b/c it was necessitated by the action on the court. Wanna know what I mean? Check out his game tape against Notre Dame in his freshman season...or even that Final 4 game against UNLV when Moses Scurry was dumb enough to try take the ball from him on the inbound play.

I can agree skip because he showed the world at his best in terms of handles both legally, illegally, show off moves, etc. What iverson was known for was his crossovers and quickness. Skip is known for actually doing variety moves, more than just crossovers.

    A lot of cats commenting are oblivious to the difference of ball handling and a crossover. A.I. had one of the best crossovers the nba ever seen, the ball handlers mentioned have more skills making the look like its going one way and having it go somewhere else. To me J Will is one of the best def top 2 imo, being a Lakers fan I saw a lot of king games the way that man moves the ball is crazy damn near impossible to stop.

    • @DopeComedian

    I was thinking Jason Williams even before they mentioned his name. I was a big Kings fan at the time that he played for them so I got to see him working. "Skip To My Lou" Rafer Alston is another really good choice. And I agree with both Kenny Smith and Chris Webber. Rafer would've made MILLIONS in endorsement deals had he brought his street ball handles to the NBA, the major problem with that is a lot of the really good moves are considered traveling in the NBA.

      Best crossover, yes. Handles? Borderline top 10. A.I perfected the crossover and revolutionalised the point guard position. He expanded the offensive capabilities of a point guard in that he can get anywhere on the court whenever he wanted to and do it in style. BUT! If we're talking ball handling, you need to refer to skip, shammgod and I'm gonna say it but even Magic Johnson. These guys not only gave style to the craft but they made it functional for the triple threat of passing, dribbling and shooting combined.
      Allen Iverson is worthy as one of the best "Handlers" of all time, but not in that top 3.
