Of all players I watched growing up, Jason Williams was my dude. I just remember being so mesmerized by everything he was capable of doing with that basketball. He was literally doing things that you wouldn't have thought was even possible to do with a basketball. That just goes to show how special of a talent he was. And, I love hearing that story about the X on the wall because I used to practice my passes like that, too. It's crazy to hear that. I still vividly remember being 13 in Sacramento and Dad coming in my room to tell my brother and I that Jason had been traded for Mike Bibby. Dad's voice sounded like he was telling us grandma had died. Honestly it was the right trade, and barring a 100% confirmed rig job from the NBA we'd have a banner in the rafters, but Jason remains my favorite player of all time. The buzz in Sac around that team during his rookie year was something I'll never forget.

The late "Pistol" Pete Maravich taught me the "elbow pass" and his "ricochet pass" when I performed with him and his Dad Press Maravich in Heidelberg and Mannheim Germany in 1975. Jason reminds me of Pistol 2.0
Yeah but he gonna give u 10 points. Creativity is similar I guess
@@alli2964 Although Pete was considered a great passer in those days and averaged still holds the highest point total in only 3 years of vasity at LSU while averaging over 44 pts per game, I think Jason brought more of the Rucker playground swag as compared to Pete's small town back yard creativity even though both are from small towns. Thanks for responding. Hope you had a great 4th.
Jason to me was more like Rex Chapman 2.0
@@BadTV1993 Rex could get up, but reminds me more of Alex Caruso from what I can remember. Thanks!
Love his humility. Pass-first guards understand it's a team game.
He's one of my favorite point guard that played the game.
For sure 👍
One of the realist true point guards to have graced tha wood. One of my favorite players of my era of B-BALL. WHITE CHOCOLATE!!
You can hear the same West Virginia accent/twang in his voice as Randy Moss
so true he sounds just like Randy Boys for life man..
so funny, I was going to say he sounds like Randy Moss
Randy accent is so much more countrier than Jason. In my opinion tho
J West! That’s why they call it WEST Virginia...
I grew up with Jason, I graduated high school, and college with his older brother, and I knew Randy. Jason and Randy lived just a few miles from me, and seeing these guys succeed at what they love to do, it made all of us so proud of them! Randy and Jason will always have their West Virginia "twangs," in the way they speak! You can take the boy out of West Virginia, but you can't take West Virginia out of the boy! #WestByGodVirginia #WestVirginiaBoys #DuPontPanthers
Gosh he's just the most pure, kind, and laid back dude...I could listen to him talk about the good ole days forever.
"Trust me, I wish I woulda played in this era too." - Jason Williams thinking about $$$$$$$$ 🤣
That would be dope.
No he’s thinking Assist..... 20 plus a game..
His points and assists would have been much higher but the BiGGEST REASON is that he was trying to play this way back then, launching like Steph but his coaches were not having it and didn’t encourage it, which if they did they could have brought out the Original version of what we see from Steph , but back then it was so frowned on that if he missed from that deep he’s gonna be out of the NBA
and J was hitting those in Sac @ 1st but goofy coach was tripping on him so he got scared to keep doing it.
Completely different times
A lot of haters instead of innovators.
The very moment he said that with that slight chuckle I was thinking that exact same thing about the money, lol.
I think he’s thinking about the scores which come from dunes (no pun).
Incredible interview. J Williams is the coolest, most self aware athlete I’ve ever had the pleasure of having hear speak.
Gary DEFINITELY tried to trip him hahahahaha
def lol... weak ass shit
Definitely
100%....lol
4 sure
exactly. shit was weak.
Being from WV myself and a Dr "J", Larry Bird, MJ fan. This dude excited me just as much!!!
Same here bruh!!!
I didn't have an X to target, but I did have a padded wall to use where I targeted a particular square. It's the same shit, haha. But, he inspired those habits in me, I know that. Like I said, White Chocolate is hands down one of my personal favorites of all-time, period. I could watch his highlights all day. So yeah, it's easy for me to appreciate this one.
This guy is so damn humble and kind. He just loved basketball
Didn’t know Jwill was so down to earth, flash but no ego
No J Will is not that's just for the interview he is shady don't walk up to him with your family as a fan. He's horrible.
@@daryldarite5347 ok
Christopher Liu age humbles you
I hung out with Jay his rookie year at a strip club. That was a fun crazy night
@Joshua De Schutter I respect how you feel and understand I was just expressing my encounter with him maybe he was having a bad day. What I fail to mention this was about 6 yeas ago. However, kids don't forget especially if they admire a person/celebrity. Time does humble you.
"Hard work pays off, I think." - Jason Williams
Mane that short quote says a lot !
Man I love this dude!!! So down to earth!!!! Definitely invited to the cookout....matter of fact he might take someone else spot
"Everybody is gonna get got" . Thank you JW!. Great player, amazing highlights. You made the league better.
It's crazy how J and Randy both came out of a little country high school in WV!
Facts!! I live in a small town too
Yo, used to rock a Moss jersey pregame and catch a fine doing it. Didnt gove a F. Mad respect
there is nothing crazy about this... people come from places.
@@NicholasSilva1380 yes people come from places but very rarely do you hear of a star NBA an a star NFL players both coming from a small country school.
Humble, respectful & insane passer! One of the best that ever did it! Salute
i love his energy... he's like a sober weed smoker
LOL that’s a good explanation honestly
Best comment
Everyone in West Virginia is like this
He did smoke and when he was in the nba he might still idk
IDK man. He looks pretty smoked up for this interview haha.
He's such a down to earth humble likeable guy.
One of the most underrated players EVER. His handles and passing were at the very top in NBA history
This dude had one of the best handles and ability to pass I've ever seen.
Handles wise J Will in top 5 up there with
Kyrie Irving, Curry ,Rod Strickland guys like that.
No doubt, Ricky. Wish he would've been marketed better, got a slew of commercials, made additional money, but he seems to have done alright for himself.
And as a black guy, it was cool as shit to see a white guy getting down like that. Didn't feel threatened or jealous, none of that bullshit.
This guy made sure not 1 fan was cheated out of their money. Players today are like robots compared to Jwills game
truth
Facts
Absolutely. Scoring is fun to see, but it feels bland somehow these days
Thts why we have lamelo , kyrie , and curry
@@wood-_-8839 lamelo? you have to be kidding.
Ian Benton lmao
Lakers won get over it no one outside Sac wanted to see a Kings Nets final
@TAD well glad youre not runnin the NBA wouldve lost a lot of money for its business which it is
Man... yes. The buzz, you wouldn't get it if you weren't there
@TAD the better team were the LA Lakers everyone and even CWebb knew that
He’s being modest as hell about his work ethic. Dude would come through RDV sportsplex and practice passing to the same spot on a wall for about 15 - 20 min. And if you’re on his squad it’s run and gun all day. Solid guy on and off the court
Played with him at Edgewater high a few times. Love talking trash to him.
Having players react to their own highlights is the most brilliant thing ever😭💯
This may have been done at least hundreds of times before lol, it’s great though
When I first saw these videos I thought it was such a stupid idea. Glad I clicked on one. Brilliantly executed
I tried his elbow pass once and I literally twisted my hand lmao ⚪️🍫 is a legend
LOL!
Hahaha
Lmao
Its pretty easy but doing that running in transition is hard af
I tried it once at home it bounced off my dads face, never tried it again at home. There were some consequences...Should have listened to Artour.
I want to see Kobe and AI react to their highlights!!!
Edit: Thanks for the likes!!! ❤
I second that notion
Al yes he can
But Kobe might be to much busy and act to much like MJ
Kobe I doubt will happen... he coaching and releasing books
AI I want to see
AI would be down not so much Kobe he be going too deep sometimes lol which is unnecessary sometimes
Jamario Stevens i think AI did one on someone else’s channel i could be wrong tho
Man I could listen to J Will talk all day. Everyone has hit it home with the whole "confident but humble" thing. Just so level headed.
Man jason is too cool hahah and very humble what a great guy
"That's was CRISPPPPPP!!! " 😂😂😂

These two lived next town up...legends Williams and Moss
Where's my package?
Dude was amazing to watch. I'm so happy he won with Miami.
Damn! This interview was sick. And Jason Williams strikes me as a good dude!
Dude would've wanted to be a FedEx driver and thinks the best thing for the team he was on was to trade him. He's been one of my favorite players to watch and now one of my favorite persons ever
Bro said if he wasn’t in the NBA he wanted to be a FedEx driver, if that ain’t humble idk what is... 💯💯💯
That's the best job all you do is drive n be comfortable
This Man is a Legend he brought Excitement to The Game
Man what a great interview! Couldn't have asked better questions! Job well done 👏 Just takes you back to soooo many memories! White Chocolate made throwing dimes the shit!
Well, for the first time in my life i watched such a long interview without skipping a single second.
Me too, I was just going to watch a little bit of it, but ended up watching the entire interview. I loved watching his game, whether he was shooting or passing. I also had forgotten that he won a championship, something Chris Weber can't say or many of his other Sacramento teammates.
Thats sad yall haha. Lotta interesting people out there!
My thoughts exactly
It was worth the watch for me.
I enjoyed it.

This was a great interview. Many question, direct and honest answers and great footage. Good job!
