      Thank you! SO relaxing and fun to add to it. And makes all my shenanigans more organized. I am NO artist so I have to use stickers, washi tape, and glitter-y pens to make it cute.

    Yay for Little Women! And I love Edenbrooke. Yes, Dear Mr. Knightley is very heavy. I love it, though. Maybe in a few years, you can re-read it again, knowing what to expect this time around. Thanks for the shout-out!!

      YES for Little Women, and Yay! someone who knows Edenbrooke! Did you read the prequel or the author's only other book (that I know of)? I think it's called Blackmoore.
      No problem on the shout-out - enjoying your channel.

      @@insearchofwonder oh, Yay!! I'm assuming it's clean? If you say it is, I just might have to go ahead and order that one. I'm literally reading Heir to Edenbrooke right now. I wish she had more books too.

    Someone on my channel mentioned that Dear Mr Knightly was kind of based on the book Daddy LongLegs.
    I need to check out that Anne audio book! That sounds good!

    • @OldeAmericanSpirit
      @OldeAmericanSpirit  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes, I've heard that about the Daddy Longlegs too - and that the original is much better.
      I enjoyed that Anne audiobook so much. At times, it made Anne seem a little more bratty :) I didn't have that perception before, but she also seemed even more thoughtful and sweet than I remembered (especially as she matures). But she's always entertaining no matter the format. :)

    Little Women!!! It's so good!
    With the fantasy series, is there magic?
    Thanks for recommending my channel!

      It's a "magical" world and our main character and some others have special gifts. I don't remember magic in books one and two, but in book #3 there are curses and spells but again with characters having gifts that they use. Didn't feel 'magic-y" to me. Definitely not any dark, witchy magic though. Hope that makes sense.

    • @OldeAmericanSpirit
      @OldeAmericanSpirit  4 місяці тому

      2nd reply to this - I'm not explaining it very well, but wanted to mention that the "gifts" I spoke of are being able to shape-shift into people or animals and being able to travel from one place to another within seconds.

    This is a great video. So aesthetically pleasing. I will have to check out the Audible Anne of Green Gables. Anne is probably my favorite ever. ❤

      Also, so glad you reread Little Women and participated in Alcott April. I am reading a biography of Louisa and her mother, and her mom definitely was the s Christian influence. Her dad was not the best influence in that area. 😢

      Thank you so much, Kelli! Yes, that Anne audiobook was great. Do you use Audible? At the time, I don't think it even costed me a credit. I love freebies. I've read Anne many times but the way they made it seems so real with the sounds and all was fascinating to me. But you must know, I have the whimsical mind of a ten-year-old girl. :)

      Thanks. I'm very glad I reread Alcott. So comforting to my soul this time around. That biography sounds wonderful and how interesting about her parents. I adore knowing background info like that. What was the name of that book?

      @@OldeAmericanSpirit It is called Marmee and Louisa by Eve LaPlante. It gives a lot of history and you really understand how the family situation affected her writing. Louisa and her mother worked so hard to keep the family going!
