Librarian of Boone's Hollow takes place in Kentucky. I really enjoyed that book. I think Vogel did a great job describing the mountain people, the topography, the abuse without going into detail and having Emmet be the Christian leader to Addie and holding her back before being officially engaged. A great example of Christian leadership between two young adults who want to get married. Everyone seems to be raving about Hope Between the Pages. Who started this? LOL My library system doesn't have a copy, so I ordered it. I hope I'm not disappointed. I've been to Biltmore many times so I'm hoping it'll be a little nostalgic. So happy you had a great May reading month! 🤗
Gotcha! I didn't think NC sounded right. Yes, I thought the author did a very good job. Not sure about the 'Hope Between the Pages' hype with others. For me, I had just finished Basham's Skymar trilogy and wanted to find an 'old' book of hers to fit on my Southern Charm Readathon prompt. It was a stand alone, so I picked that one! I loved it. Hope you do too.
This video gave me more of an insight into your reading preferences. You’re what I call myself, a gentle, Christian reader. Loved this video. Added more to my TBR. I rarely read reviews. I prefer word of mouth recommendations like yours.
Sounds about right. I have always been a dreamer and have such a tender heart. I learned recently that I’m what they call a “HSP” apparently. Feels like a curse sometimes. 🙃 Thank you so much, Susan. You are the sweetest! I figured there must be more gentle souls like me out there!! 💙
Really?! That’s so good to know. At first, I was like, what is going on, but I for into it. The male MC was SO funny to me for some reason. Wit. I love brilliant wittiness.
I really enjoyed The Librarian of Boone's Hollow! I loved Bettina. I also really enjoyed Off the Chain. Hope Between the Pages is on my tbr, hopefully soon I will be able to read it because I love Pepper.❤
Yay. I have been planning to read Basham to zero. Now, Barker is on that list too! Have you read any of Megan Walker’s books? I read one of hers right before I started this channel, so I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned her. Now that I know I have a fellow Regency- loving buddy, I ‘m thinking you may like her. I have only read the one but bought a 2nd book of hers and hope to get to it in July.
@@talesandtreatswithtay Yeah, it's very different. Would never have picked it up if not for Lindsey. Curiosity made me do it! haha Looks like other ones may involve sports which I don't think I'd get into, but I am curious about those too.
The Debutante Code says mystery on the cover - ThornDyke and Swann Regency Mystery lol😂😂-- I have the first two in this series and I want to read! I have read several other books by her and enjoyed them.
Yes, mystery is good. Wanted. but there are mysteries without the “other” mam. 🤣 Very rare! I thought I had found one. 😊 After the fact, I saw that on Goodreads, the tagline mentions Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed it anywayz.
@@bethanybringsbooks hahahaha No, I was saying I knew it was mystery - maybe art theft b/c of book cover - but not murder crime. I know I don't speak loud enough or articulate like I should!
I loved Debutante's Code!
Yay. Wasn't the plot unique with great writing?
My favorite book by Joanna Barker so far has been Game of Hearts
ohhh, thank you. I will have to look that up! I enjoyed her writing a lot.

I could SO hear Bettina talking in her backcountry mountain slang. haha Hope between the pages... 💙💙 and yes, the Pepper fan club! haha
So many of these are on my TBR 😂😂..The Joanna Barker book AND the Pepper Basham book.

@@OldeAmericanSpirit I don’t believe I’ve read any of hers . Jennie Goutet is a good regency author!
@@bethanybringsbooks thank you! I'm looking up Goutet up now!
I’d like to recommend The Midnight School if you liked that Boone’s book. So good!
Oh, gotcha! Will have to look that one up. Sounds familiar. It’s fairly new, right?
@@OldeAmericanSpirit It’s a few years old, but I really liked it. I like books set in Appalachia.

The Dog series looks so cute. Maybe I'll get to it one day!
I’m curious if you would like it. To me, it’s very unique.
Awesome wrapup ❤ and yay a blackout bingo 🎉🎉
Thank you, my dear. 💙 Yay! I’m all about a challenge - especially good books!! Is that what it’s called? Haha OK, I got blackout bingo! 😊

It was such a great feeling - back to back to back!
Yay best reading month 🎉🎉
Yesss! It was so nice!
I've read Librarian - everyone raves about it but it fell flat for me. I haven't read the sequel.
Yeah. It wasn’t quite a 5 ⭐️ for me - slow at times, but I enjoyed Bettina’s sass 🤣 and the old fashioned culture.
