@brentbeachem9160 Haha, the rainbow sherbet squid blob. I have to give credit where credit is due. The sherbet blob is my friend Walter's pattern. I just added the flexi floss tail to create the squid blob 😁
I was on the lake in a boat with my brother at the same time these guys were. We caught 18 but only one big one. They let water out of Jordanelle the day before and their was alot of debris in the water and the turbidity was up. That wind made it cooooollld!
Funny how we have lakes all to ourselves this time of year and.. pre ice up they are on the bite. Ice in the guides. Lines sticking with the drag . So much fun.
See snow has arrived in your part of the world and we are heading to a hot summer in Down Under.Great water ans excellent fishing trip with a few great looking Trout in the net too.Tight lines, thumbs up and greetings from NZ,, Tony.
Winter has arrived for me and summer for you. Even though I love to ski, I'm already missing summer. I hope your summer fishing adventures treat you well Tony.
@briangasser7631 it's simple. I just add some fulling mill micro flexi floss as a tail. I take a strand of orange, pink and yellow flexi floss and fold them in half twice then cut it so you have a total of 12 pieces. I show the fly right around the 1:20 mark
Merry Christmas to you. I thought that was a smallmouth bass, but another guy pointed out that it was in fact a largemouth bass. That tells you how much I target bass. I didn't know there were largemouth bass in there
Kendall, excellent job man…I feel like a know ya a little bit…Ron’s my mentor (he got me into fly fishing a year and a half ago)…can’t believe you were nailing them on white leeches!!??…me, size 14 black leeches with orange heads…same dang spot lol…love the videos…nice job Man.
@@TroutHowler I’ll give it a go! Gonna try to hit that spot one more time before it freezes over. (This weekend) I might as well throw out a black and white combo. See what happens lol. I love the videos. Keep um up.
@@TroutHowler in a past lifetime I played baseball up there. I may not remember correctly, but it seemed like the snow would have stuck on the ground and lakes had ice by this time. Each year is different for sure
Happy new year You caught a big one! your picture face is wonderful. I enjoy catching small fish in Japan. あけましておめでとうございます。 大きいのが釣れましたね!あなたの絵顔が素晴らしい。 私は日本で小さい魚を釣って楽しんでいます。
Yes and one more thing. If we fish on those jagged rocks where the video was shot, would you cast my line for me so I don't hit the water before the fly does?
You guys are fishing about where the highway turns toward the Island Boat Ramp, along the steep rocks? I'm a former resident and with the fog I can't quite place where you're at. Appears to be great fishing. I miss that Wasatch Country.
Well in this particular video the location is in the title. I also show the flies we were using at the 1:21 mark of the video. It's considered a no no to hot spot small lakes that could be negatively affected by increased fishing pressure---most of my videos are of the smaller mountain/backcountry lakes. I don't name those lakes for that very reason. Most UA-cam fishing channels share that sentiment. I name places like the reservoir in this video that are very well known and are large enough to handle the pressure. I typically try to show what I'm using in my videos but sometimes I simply forget in the moment. I will try to do better on that front 😁
Rainbow sherbet squid blob... lol.... still laughing at that name, but it was money! Nice creation... fun adventure time

Winter fishing deer Creek treats me so well! Glad you got some chunks!
👍 I have had many fun trips there in the winter.

It certainly was cold that day.

I tried fishing with my sink tip, but I only got three casts in before my guides completely froze up. It is a fun time to watch an indicator
Thanks for sharing,merry Christmas
Thanks Rusty. I hope you had a great Christmas
Great Christmas gift. I always enjoy a good video with tons of success. Merry Christmas pal, and thanks for the vid.
Thanks Shifty. Merry Christmas 🎅🤶

And thanks again for the present!
It was fun with everybody there. You're very for the present
Love to see it!
You should go hit it Colton 👍🎣
Nice work!
Thank you!
Thanks Hambones
Is the squid blob a variation on anything we might know how to tie? SUch as an egg sucking leach etc?

Merry Christmas, I can’t believe that you are able to fish lakes up there this late in the year
There's only a few left with open water. Deer Creek happens to be the closest, so it works out nicely 😁

We were over near the dam, but my other friend did just as well later that day over by the island that disappears when water level gets low.
sweet video man! what side of the reservoir do you like to fish usually if you don’t mind me asking?
We were over by the dam, but it's been fishing well all over. My buddy did just as well over on the east side by the island that same day
What part of the res were you guys on? I'm like a 20 minute drive and this video just gave me the itch to give it a go lol
We were over near the dam, but most of the lake is fishing well right now. My other friend did well that same day over by the island
Nice and Merry Christmas. Say hi to Kevin for me!!!!!!!!

So the flies you use, can they be purchased or do you tie them
I tie my own but can buy something similar at many fly shops
Nice work. That bass was a largemouth not a smallie
Haha, I had to go back and look. You're right. I didn't even know they were in there.
what side of the lake is this on?
We were on the north side. The lake has been fishing fairly well all over though
I tell people those fish have seen so much power bait that they think it’s a naturally occurring food source. I submit the blob as evidence
Haha---the power bait fly
It could represent an egg cluster if ur color is orange or red , just a thought.
The color red or orange, on ur blob pattern.. could represent it self as an egg cluster
I call it the power bait hatch. Lol
