I have most of AudioKit’s apps and absolutely love the quality and heart that’s gone into these collaborative projects which wouldn’t exist but for the generous donation of these highly talented developers. This app was a surprise as I’ve been waiting for the 909 drum machine (#4 in the limited edition series) for what seems ages. 🤞
Actually, with almost every AudioKit app you don't need to think much before buying, they just sound good and are very affordable at the same time. This Electric Piano seems to be no exception and since it's for a good cause, I think it's a no brainer purchase.
@@GavinskisTutorials Just like their D1 synth which is not very stable either. Contrary to all assertions, they have not yet ironed this out in updates.
Every AudioKit Pro app is an insta buy for me. They are all good to great but I buy them out of principle to support the devs and their cause. Nice demo and glad to hear that this one sounds different from the apeSoft one, which I have already. Now, on to the app store :)

Thnx! Actually another Rhodes was released after this, Vtines, it's modeled and tbh I would recommend it over this any day. It has a much much more natural velocity response. This one jumps between clean and distorted very suddenly. Apparently that's the way the Rhodes that was sampled behaves, but I find it problematic. Vtines ftw!

My brother has a Fender Rhodes which he rebuilt/reconditioned - I’ve always thought it has one of the most beautiful sounds around. This is a very welcome addition
Hats off to Henny, Kennard, Matt + everyone else involved in getting this great sounding EP on our devices + in our hands (+ ears). Great work! 👏 I also like how it dropped out of nowhere.. nice surprise.. 😊 This sounds really good.. also a good variety of presets showcasing it’s capabilities.. Has everything you need for a track.. Wobble, Phase, Reverb + Auto-Pan.. I like the velocity options.. the hard setting has a nice crunch to it.. Velvet Machine was sounding very.. velvety.. 🤷♂️ I reach for EPs a fair amount when I’m searching for a keyboard sound.. they blend in so very easily in many situations.. They can be funky, luscious, sparkly, swirly, mellow, full, on-a-diet thin.. of course, it all depends on the other instruments that it’s surrounded by -BUT- it works.. a lot! Tremolo.. Vibrato.. they’ve been used interchangeably for so long with musical instruments + guitar amps etc.. everyone just accepts it and knows there will be some sort of wobbling going on in their sound if they turn up one of these knobs.. I think they should just label it as “Wobble” and be done with it.. 😆 iOS music making.. not mainstream.. YET.. that’s part of the reason that we do it.. do what most others don’t.. take the less travelled path.. Good coverage of the new AudioKit app.. 👍 Thanks..

Thanks for the video, very interesting. I'm still in doubt about it as I already have Electric Vintage and NSK. As of now, the main reason for buying it would be to support the project. Vibrato and tremolo: never actually considered them different, thanks for pointing out the difference between the two.
It definitely has a different flavour from Electric Vintage but I'm not sure about how it compares to NSK, u reckon NSK probably covers these kinds of sounds and more?
@@GavinskisTutorials I can definitely find similar sounds in NSK, maybe even richer. But NSK is a big beast, hungry of space that's not always present in my humble 32GB iPAD pro. As of now, my go-to app is Electric Vintage. Small but still full of dynamics.

This is a great instrument ..unlike some Auv3 electric piano apps which attempt to capture a lions share of the sonic space in a mix but yet still are great ...this app just seems simply to fit in the mix ..this is true of many of the presets..just loverly ..and dare I say all for a price of less than a wing-nut burger and a large Kola.... it’s Klondike time folks for us IOS composers ...just as Gavers reports ... praise to the Developers who support the iOS evolution 👏👏👏🙏🎶🎶🎩🦄

Hi Daniel, well that's a piano, even though it has some very quirky patches, and this is a Rhodes. Quite a different sound altogether. Both very good though!

I have a Rhodes Mk 1 and know that one day it’s going to have to go. I have Neo Soul Keys but with its library on external SSD, it’s a faff to fire up. What I’m looking for is a low resource Rhodes app that responds to ‘digging in’ on a keyboard like a real one. Your tutorial demos driving from a generative app and the app’s internal effects very well but my interest is in how it performs ‘hands on’ (dinosaur that I am). The velocity settings look promising.
Yes, you can go and watch Brandon Rico Simpson's video for that, he plays it beautifully. I'm not much of a keyboard player, I'm a rhythm guitarist lol

Nice electric piano but if one has the Apesoft one I don't know if this one is putting something else on the table. Didn't hear much of a difference. Although it is really cheap now so why not?
Decent sounding app but do you think it fills a need in any way? I mean, I use Module Pro from Korg usually with effects. I was thinking it might be useful in AUM instead of Module but Module hardly uses any resources, so I can run 5 with no problems compared to House. I am using a new iPad Pro so that might nit be a good device to test with.
Do you mean the standard electric piano in Korg Module? Frankly it sounds terrible compared to this, no comparison whatsoever! Same as Korg's pianos in that app sound really terrible when compared to Ravenscroft. I even bought the expensive IAP for American D, never use it because Ravenscroft is so much better.
Auctully using ape soft electric piano app at the moment on a track but this does sound nice as it's not as harsh,seems the developers are starting to work with UA-cam music artists a bit more now Henny and Jakob haq has one in the pipeline,It's nice the development of some of these apps in co of the people who use them and demonstrate them on UA-cam.You never know Gavin your email may be buzzing,If you could have a app made for you what would it be ? Thank you. Nice demo (you are the first on this one, I think). It sounds soft and good. I am just a bit concerned about the CPU load as the minimum requirements seems to have a 6s (it’s quite a lot for a “simple” EP). Do you know how well this one behaves regarding polyphony ? I will say this - this handles polyphony a lot better than apesoft electric does. Electric cannot handle the barrage of notes that Polyphase throws at it, for example.
@@GavinskisTutorials Ah ok, cool ! I think polyphony is really important for instruments like a piano, be it acoustic or electric. There’s nothing more bothering to me than my bass note disappearing because of a few arpeggios 😅

Auctully using ape soft electric piano app at the moment on a track but this does sound nice as it's not as harsh,seems the developers are starting to work with UA-cam music artists a bit more now Henny and Jakob haq has one in the pipeline,It's nice the development of some of these apps in co of the people who use them and demonstrate them on UA-cam.You never know Gavin your email may be buzzing,If you could have a app made for you what would it be ? It sounds soft and good. I am just a bit concerned about the CPU load as the minimum requirements seems to have a 6s (it’s quite a lot for a “simple” EP).
Do you know how well this one behaves regarding polyphony ? I am in of course for a giveaway 😉

I will say this - this handles polyphony a lot better than apesoft electric does. Electric cannot handle the barrage of notes that Polyphase throws at it, for example.
@@GavinskisTutorials Ah ok, cool ! I think polyphony is really important for instruments like a piano, be it acoustic or electric. There’s nothing more bothering to me than my bass note disappearing because of a few arpeggios 😅
Definitely. But also maybe the high polyphony threshold is what is causing the heavy cpu load
