Fast Charge Battery Train Trial

David will explain how GWR in collaboration with the former company Vivarail, will trial new fast charging battery-charging technology on its network, paving the way for future battery-only trains to run future regular passenger services.

I do think that the train needs a small diesel generator to trickle charge it in the event of charging/grid failure - a 'get it home' feature.

DFT should probably open source the simulation software, they can speak to GDS about how to do this.
