And where can I watch this debate?

I'm just finishing Ann Dale's Edging Forward which takes this on. Ideas are like colds--exposure can cause infection.

What can you say if the WEF handles the Degrowth?

It depends what that means. If WEF democratizes and does not pander to the ruling elite, they can do degrowth but they would not be the only agency working on it. All governments from the top down and all peoples from bottom up will need to be involved to share power and accountability.

@@VladBunea Absolutely! The reason I asked you about this is I'm worrying if the WEF used the term "Degrowth" for their own agenda like they always do. The people behind the WEF might steal some ideas from Degrowth and use it as a band aid solution to their agenda I'm not sure but the line "you'll own nothing and be happy" and concept of UBI under their rule kinda sounds similar to Degrowth though.

They did that with the words “sustainable development” to greenwash us. The word “degrowth” is almost impossible to twist in the favour of the elite. That’s why the word “degrowth” is being used and no other word. Some people and especially the elite don’t like this. They say it’s bad marketing. If you read degrowth literature you’ll find that it is very very anti-elite, pro-democracy, pro-wellbeing and widely distributed across the world.

We need our amazing advocates for degrowth to take on the market bros and idiots that believe degrowth is just a Communism Watermelon. I.e “Green” on the outside but “Red” (I assume they mean communism) on the inside

The fact that simple growth is not an option really explains a lot about whats going on in Canada... Spend billions to reduce the economy...
Canada is a shadow of its former glory

Whatever our civilization do, I'm almost certain, that rich and powerful will keep being rich and powerful.
Only poor people will get hit with "green" limits and taxes. Or only poor people will get hit with "degrowth" and limits on production and consumption.
Where I think ordinary people do not need to do much. Honestly. We are dying out anyway and our economies are already pretty efficient. We have already pretty small impact on the planet. The biggest risk for our planet is 6.5+ billion people in other regions that are reproducing in a very fast pace and they will have the biggest impact on our planet. And the rich countries and companies of the west that got rich because of exploiting this regions should help to lower their emissions.
