POV:you are here for school
Great work, thanks a million....taking a class to meet a requirement I don't watch movies and now realize how much I am missing but 'll never wanna break a film down tick by tick..... Film makers to me appear to be Psychologist in disguise.
There is definitely a lot that goes into making films, I find it really interesting to break it down and try to understand why writers make the choices they do. Good luck with your class :)
On behalf of my grandchildren, Claire, thank you for making the monomyth so accessible.

for the first time.”

I'm so glad!
You did SO WELL with this video! I'm having my 10th graders watch it today so they can fill out a Hero's Journey worksheet :)
Oh I’m so happy!! Your comment made my day. So glad the video could help :)
Hi Tara! Random question--what other topics relating to writing or storytelling do you teach in your class? I'm brainstorming future video ideas right now and if there are other topics that could be helpful to students, I'd love to make videos on them :)
You did a good job breaking down Moana, as well as simplifying the Hero's Journey. Thanks.
Thanks so much!! :)
Awesome Job. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Great job !!! Thanks for posting !! 👏👏👏❤🥰
This was great. I shared it with my students as part of our unit on the hero's journey. Thank you!
1:34 - I LOVED Moana and seeing its structure written down like this is just wonderful!
Thanks so much!
Very helpful! I showed this to my English 1 class, and we found it very helpful!

We talked about the hero’s journey in my English class last year. I’m excited to learn more about it!
That's awesome! The Hero's Journey is my favorite out of all the plot structures
Amazing job. Articulated very well.

@@WritewithClaireFraise thanks!
You just saved my lifeeeee
Thank you for this! Using this to teach Middle Schoolers about the Hero's Journey today.
Nice!
Thank you
Interesting information
Your editing skills are amazing!!
Thank you so much :))
thank you!
No problem!
I've always wanted to write a book and I'm currently at the stage of still world building, figuring a lot of the details and mapping it all out. I've listened to a couple people explain the heroes journey with loose examples but having a full movie broken down and explained is super helpful so thank you very much.
Of course! I'm so glad it was helpful! I love the worldbuilding stage, enjoy the heck out of it :)
@@WritewithClaireFraise Thank you, I most certainly am!
Thank you Claire for the educational, eye opening study of the Heros journey. I enjoyed the way you have presented the study. I am at the infancy of my journey as a hopeful novelist, and take courage from this sincere video.
I'm so glad I presented it in a way that was helpful to you! Good luck embarking on your writerly journey :)
Question then, does that mean every "hero" story must be told like this all in one book or something similar? I'm asking cause I'm trying to write a book and their heros journey isn't completed in one book but is stretched before he could be what he is meant to be. Think like a comic book where how in modern descriptions of Spider-Man it takes Peter Parker awhile to truly get the handle of being Spider-Man and balancing out great power and responsibility.
So the way I like to think of it if you are writing a series and using the hero's journey structure, there is a complete hero's journey in book one but not all the ends are tied up leaving room to continue in book 2. Like over the course of book 1, your hero grows into themselves more than before and become capable of more than they have been before, but they still have room to grow and can become even a more epic and capable version of themselves in book 2. Perhaps in your story you could have your hero rise to a challenge during the climax and show a glimmer of what he is meant to be even though he hasn't already reached his full potential.
@@WritewithClaireFraise So kind of like episode 2 of Avatar when Anng go into the Avatar state after being knocked off Zuko's ship? (I'm assuming you seen it cause it is one of the best animated shows ever. If not search it up or watch it lol.)
@@awesomemike1500 I’d consult movies instead of TV shows when trying to learn how to structure a book. TV show structure can be a bit different!
Dragon Ball ;)
Wer muss das auch wegen der Schule sehen 😂
Only in the movies do females ever go on heroic journeys 🧐.
How much money did you spend in all those classes when you could have just read Campbell's book?
shut up lol
