Thanks for watching guys.. Here is a link to Tom Outdoors video which goes a little more into the history of the building: ua-cam.com/video/alpWx-3r5FI/v-deo.html
absolutely brilliant mate! so glad i was a part of this one and thanks for inviting me (i kind of invited myself lol sorry!) your intro is AMAZING! don't think i can top that lol. thanks to Drone Tony (or Droney lol) for the footage and the firewood, top bloke! Yoink! that cracked me up, didn't spot you doing that. a really memorable weekend! one of the best.
I was sure I have watched all your videos yet this one came up on my recommended today and I've never seen it. Brilliant! Would love to spend the night on something like that. Nothing like that where I live sadly
Me and a mate fished there one night (about 25 yrs ago)and the pilot came over from Sheerness and took us off because we were using lights,we were taken back to Sheerness but our car was parked near cockleshell beach Grain near the fort.We had to phone my mates dad up from Sheerness to get him to pick us up and take us over to grain to collect the car.It was about 3am and he wasn't happy.I lived in Medway then......that was the last time I fished the tower
Hello from Oregon US and from a fellow enthusiast. I have a small channel here and have been watching yours for about a Year. I have to say mate, This has to be my favorite video of you! I love my Beer and camping and after seeing this, I'm headed to Tom's channel next! found you from Simons channel and so glad I did... Nice to meet ya mate and headed off to watch more. Cheers!
Superb! What a place - it reminded me of the Napoleonic forts above Dover that I used to muck about in as a kid! I love old historic relics! Cheers Andy! Atb, Simon.
Outstanding, a lot of history in that old fort. Can't believe the historic society has not protected that place, part of the history of our country...thanks for sharing!
Hi Nicola, I did see your Hoo video after I uploaded mine :) we are lucky to be surrounded by so much history around here, always discovering.. thanks for watching
Yes we certainly are fortunate. There are some earlier videos of hoo visits from April too. I try to get out there a few times a year. We shd do a collaboration sometime in the future
Ha... You pitched up in your tent pretty much where I was the other night 🤣🤣 Just watched this and 4 years gone by and there was so little rubbish in comparison to last week!! Enjoyed this again Andy 👍
This was great! I'm gradually working my way through your videos from the beginning, and this is among my favourites so far. The ghost was especially spooky 👻😮😉😂😂😂
Awesome video footage, Andy. It's a great surprise to see a wild camp taking place on a fascinating and historical fort. I actually wondered if you were likely to get any visitors sometime during the dark hours of the chilling night. Nice to see that it wasn't littered with rubbish and was really surprisingly tidy. Lots of passages to explore and that mysterious ghostly creature near the end. A thrill a minute...
Thank you :) Ive wanted to camp here for years now haha. I think the fact that its daily difficult to get to keeps most people away. I did feel more relaxed whilst the tide was in and we were cut off but it meant a rush in the morning or would have been another few hours before escape haha
Thank you very much indeed, Im glad you enjoyed the video, check out toms video from the link in description if you want a little more history on the place (I forgot to add a lot haha) ATB - Andy
Finding some of your older videos and this was different! Entertaining in different ways! Loved the grand intro! Loved that you captured the ghost....but he did look a bit familiar.....😂😂. Look forward to other different vamos Andy😊
The tower was comissioned in 1855 as part of the Napoleonic coastal defences. It was repurposed during both the World Wars and a deep water pier was added to the seaward side of the tower. It is a listed building of Historic importance and, if I recall correctly a listed monument. The property was bought from the Crown Estates in the late 1990's by a guy called Simon (I did the correspondences for the purchase on Simon's behalf). After several attempts to secure the property from further vandalism and destruction, which were unsuccesful, the plans for restoration stalled. Having been on the tower for numerous high tides (both during the day and night) I was never witness to any ghosts. Maybe next time you go back there head down to the flooded cellar and see if you can find the boat we left down there. It was made from my ex wife's dining table. I haven't been there for a few years as I now live in the USA, sad to see the state of decay and vandalism to a piece of our nation's history.
Hi, thanks for the info, very interesting. Id love to see the place restored (but not into another bloody spa haha) I can't imagine the work that would be needed... ill have to check out the basement properly now! I think IKS went down there on their video so could worth a look. Thanks for watching buddy.
I agree that it’s so sad to see how idiots are vandalising it. I used to live in Allhallows and loads of guys from the villages go out there to fish. I was never brave enough to tag along.
I camped there in 1927...enjoyed the place...thinking about going there next week.. spend about 2 weeks in THE fort..bring some brew and babes..ttyl guys
Hi, yes.. I did intend on doing more history but it just didn't work out like that... Toms video will be out soon, hell have more of the history, link in the description. Thanks for watching
Great video! Interesting to see how they used the old fortification as a platform for the WWI or WWII era gun battery and range-finding and observation decks!
Nice one Andy, drone footage at the start was amazing... a very different wild camp, I'm surprised it wasn't overrun with pigeons or seagulls, didn't seem to be too much crap a out considering there's a massive amount of graffiti there. Enjoyed it thanks for sharing mate. Lee (Burton Outdoors)
Thanks mate, I think the difficult walk through silt sand etc keeps most away.. I did think that about birds too, didn't even see 1.. weird.. must keep away due to the ghost ;) haha
Thats a top site mate Cheers to you and Tom for showing us around. Funny how the Building from the 1800's is in better condition than the later added on section. Cheers for sharing. Hooroo for now, Brett. Gympie, Australia
Hi Andy, I've pretty much watched all of your videos and I've got to say that this is one of your best so far mate....I've been to the fort a couple of times but never wild camped there... I have camped at hoo fort though (don't know if you've been there or know it) only accessible by boat and maybe a venue for a future video of yours lol keep up the good work can't wait for the next one
Thank you very much :) bit of a risk doing things different from the norm but most seem to have enjoyed it. I have been looking in to doing hoo fort for some time now.. seen a couple of people that have done it so one day hopefully
What an interesting building to explore. I don't think I would have been too happy to man it in wartime though as it looks as though a direct hit would have collapsed t whole thing.
I have heard rumors that police boats turn up if you stay here after the tide has come in, and that they take you all the way to Sheerness. Is this true?
soz not posted for a while. loved the vid been past that so many times going out fishing always wondered what it was like. we used to go to the garrison when we were kids had great fun.
Yo I just found this vid I am from Chattenden the old army barracks on the way to here and used to go to grain and hoo all the time for the pull boxes and forts. Nice to see it on a video mate
I missed this one! Sweet video, nice to see you've been dabbling in historic/urbex type dossing! I like kipping on this one myself. We're very lucky in Kent to have a lot of unique and extant fortifications. Winter is a good time of year to do it I'd say. It sees a lot of traffic from fishermen and locals in the warmer weather. That said, the OP deck and gun emplacement are good places to sleep under the stars in summer - you can see all the ships coming in and out of the inlet from your sleeping bag .I'd just be prepared to potentially have to share the tower when the weather is hot - but the two times I've done it in summer I got lucky and it was empty.
yeah, its a great building for sure, wanted to camp there since I first visited it years ago. Definitely a good experience. I guess a week day would probably be better in the summer :) Thanks for watching mate
Have you heard of the zero station in Hollingbourne, Kent. That might be an interesting one for you. I went down into it years ago, it's pretty cool as long as you don't mind a few spiders :)
I have wild camped in a few random places in my time but no where near as cool as that fort 👌. Drunk Andy gave me a chuckle 😂. Thanks for sharing Andy. Atb Sconja 👍
so cool, love to visit places like this. Very spooky...thanks for sharing. Shame kids write all over the walls :/ but none the less, great video. thumbs up
Cheers Krissy :) This is one of my favourite building in Kent, love it. We were pretty lucky to get out in the morning with that tide coming in fast haha
Looking forward to seeing more. I’ve had my channel for years but only started using properly in the last year or so. Walks on my own or with my children, camping, gigs, festivals, drums and my band. Check it out when you’ve got a minute if you like. Cheers.

very cool - thansk for sharing Andy. Would this work as a bog out location? Or coudl one set up a permanent camp in there? Very interesting! Oh yes, was wondering if there is much sealife there like clams and so on that you can collect for wild food??
Great video something different from your normal videos (great 2 mix them up mate) I would have taken a fishing rod or hand line 2 see if I could get my breakfast ATB Paul
Thanks, Been wanting to do this for a while.. I thought about fishing whilst there.. don't have much experience so something to think about this year. Thanks for watching Paul
Fav one so far altho Dungey was pretty cool to. What drone were you using buddy? Im looking for a smallish drone to fit in my pack with other kit when I go up to the mountains. Decent camera drone that is. Thanks.

Thank you very much indeed :) glad you enjoyed the vid! got another similar in the pipeline for the future
Superb! What a place - it reminded me of the Napoleonic forts above Dover that I used to muck about in as a kid! I love old historic relics! Cheers Andy! Atb, Simon.
ah yes, had a few explores around there too :) This is one of my favourites though, wanted to stay there for a while. Thanks for watching buddy
Outstanding, a lot of history in that old fort. Can't believe the historic society has not protected that place, part of the history of our country...thanks for sharing!
I know, it is a shame, If won the lotto id consider buying the place.. its up for 400,000 haha, cheers for watching
Great video, loved the opening, so well done! Thanks for bringing us along
Thank you for watching :)
Good vid. I have also wild camped there, and Hoo too. Super place.. well done.

I went there about 20 years ago. There wasn't a ladder then and I think I remember having to climb using that massive chain. Cool vid
I was thankful the ladder was there.. been there about 6 years now I think which is handy. fantastic location :) thanks for watching
Thank you for the tour of an awesome piece of history. I truly enjoyed it!!!
So good watched it twice. Brilliant!!!
One of the best most interesting vids I've seen in a long time. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Thank you very much indeed, Im glad you enjoyed the video, check out toms video from the link in description if you want a little more history on the place (I forgot to add a lot haha) ATB - Andy
So much fun to watch, well done with the intro! I could almost smell it.
Thanks very much indeed :)
Love the addition of the aerial shots. Great work.
Thank you :)
Finding some of your older videos and this was different! Entertaining in different ways! Loved the grand intro! Loved that you captured the ghost....but he did look a bit familiar.....😂😂.
Look forward to other different vamos Andy😊
Having watched this one Andy, you really should consider the island in the River Trent at Torksey, Lincoln. Right up your street.
What a cool place to explore lots of history. Thanks for sharing. As always stay safe out there on your adventures
Thanks :) I think it would have been safer without the booze though haha. ATB - Andy

Thanks for an interesting video. No ghosts, clowns, drama etc.
I camped there in 1927...enjoyed the place...thinking about going there next week.. spend about 2 weeks in THE fort..bring some brew and babes..ttyl guys
Great video Andy, love the drone footage. Wish you would done a bit of history of the fort? Cheers!

This was really interesting! Nice spin on your normal videos (which are always enjoyable), awesome!
thanks, its been on the cards for years, glad to have finally done it :)
Also the sounds of people on grain beach carry over the river. We had raves on that beach
Great video! Interesting to see how they used the old fortification as a platform for the WWI or WWII era gun battery and range-finding and observation decks!
Thanks for watching, I guess you use what you have at times like them... they were even using medieval castles so shows how well stuff was made.
Nothing to thank for, mate! I do enjoy both your and Tom's videos! Keep those interesting videos comming! :) Cheers from Sweden
That place looks amazing.
I love it.. Zombie apocalypse stronghold for sure! wanted to stay there the night for years, cheers for watching mate
Lovely place. You were lucky to find just the right spot to place that camera exactly where the ghost goes dancing at night :)
Its a great building.. love it, and ghosts to keep me company haha, thanks for watching

I have wanted to camp here for years.. Tom gave me the push I needed :) Thank mate
Rather brave of you both to walk around the Fort at night as it would be hard to see any pit falls or loose railings.
Awesome video. I liked the drone footage too. That looked like a neat place to spend the night.
Hi, thank you, Its a great place... may have to revisit in the summer - cold concrete haha
so cool, love to visit places like this.
Very spooky...thanks for sharing.
Shame kids write all over the walls :/ but none the less, great video. thumbs up
Cheers Krissy :) This is one of my favourite building in Kent, love it. We were pretty lucky to get out in the morning with that tide coming in fast haha
Outstanding video sir. Very enjoyable.
Thank you Patrick :) wanted to camp here for a long time now.

Thank you, my friend Tony to thank for the help there.
Looked like a fun adventure thank you for "taking " me there.
It was indeed, been wanting to do it for a long time. Thanks for watching buddy!
That was a pretty cool video. I would love to go there for a stealth camp. That ghost looked pretty scary too 🤣
Thanks mate :) Its an amazing place and def look out for that dodgy ghost! haha
What an awesome old building. Would love to see it properly restored. Will be a shame to lose buildings like this.
I agree.. the outside stair case is not gonna last much longer and access to the watch tower will be lost :( Thanks for watching
Cheers, mate. Wished I were there, alongside ye. Looked like fun, for sure. Peace.
Thanks, one off the bucket list there :)
LOL 😛 Andy your such a happy drunk lol 😂let the good times roll 👍🏾👌🏾🤣😋😆
Fascinating, scary and hilarious.

Love the music at the beginning and great video mate keep it up 👍
Thank you, you just reminded me to name the music in the description :) - It sounds a little like the great British bake off but more dramatic haha
Kent Survival it does a bit lol
Hey 👋 my dad runs a beer shop that sells brews from around Yorkshire. It’s called ‘Yorkshire craft beers’ and I’m sure you’d love it there!
Love it I did similar in the Solent sea for horsesands fort
Amazing location for a wild camp, not sure I'd fancy walking around in there in the dark with the bowing staircases and flimsy looking railings!
Its a great place, one of my favourites around here, been wanting to camp there for years... sadly yes, it is decaying though :( Thanks for watching
love love this!!!
Thank you Star :)
Well done boys, very interesting 👍
I've just come across your channel. Watched a few videos and you've just got another subscribe.
Good work sir.
Hi and welcome to the channel. Thank you :)

Great video Andy liked the ghost in the video lol
haha Thanks mate.. glad I didn't bump in to it in the night ;)
Impressive Guys, wonderful video:)) concrete is from a later age I thought? Lucky the aluminium ladder was there :)))... Thank you, Theo,
the original tower is from 1855 :) I checked on the ladder a couple of days before so we weren't disappointed haha, thanks for watching Theo
Thanks :)))
Was it save to stay over night at the tower mate as planning on going sometime with some other explorers

Fav one so far altho Dungey was pretty cool to. What drone were you using buddy? Im looking for a smallish drone to fit in my pack with other kit when I go up to the mountains. Decent camera drone that is. Thanks.
That was a nice one really good idea which I could’ve been with you awesome
I've wanted to do this for the longest time, an amazing place :) Thanks for watching

Awesome video Andy. Take care cheers Karl

Hi would like to know about your leather bag with all your fire starting equipment just the size would just like to get into it
Thanks
Hi, its about 6 inches closed made from a piece of leather roughly 12 inches diameter.
Hi. Great video. The top section, the highest point would have been a search light. FYI.
Thank you :) I didn't think of that!, Tom thought a mounted telescope / binoculars but I can see a search light for sure, thank you for watching
Gun emplacement!
Interesting. Very interesting... good stuff...
Thank you :) Glad you liked the video
