    Been using this as my squat warm up routine. It has helped so much with my mobility and depth, really great warmup. In general it feels good to squat after a good warmup!

    I came upon these on my own and love the way I can also get a good lat stretch if I position my hands up high on the post. Then I waddle back away from the post to do more ankle/knee/hip mobility work. Now I'll be adding those calf stretches to round em out.

    Can you please do a video addressing ankle imobility caused by inpingement in the front of your ankle?

      He has a bunch, resistance band around the front of the ankle to mobilize the bone causing the impingement. I had it and my ankle cleared up in a few weeks of rehabbing

    My largest problem is my ankle mobility. Any time I try using this to try to increase my ankle RoM, I feel zero stretch through my achilles and instead it transfers into the medial part of my ankle. I think it's the flexor retinaculum that's stretching, but I don't know for certain.

    You could just hold the squat and breathe allowing psoas and ql to relax pelvis.

    Some of us who have had multiple knee surgeries and are now bone on bone cannot bend the knees enough to do your recommended stretches.

    Sadly my hip joint (labrum I think) doesn’t allow me to squat that deep with rounding my back. It’s not a flexibility issue but clearly a joint mobility problem. I also have terrible knee flexion and can’t even sit on my calves in a kneeling position

      I had the same problem like you. Still working on the first one, but for the second, daily streches of quads and practicing to sit on the calves worked. Now I can comfortably sit for 5 minutes or more. Took 2-3 months though. Good luck.

      I can’t sit on my calves either, it really hurts my knee area. Was this the same symptom that you guys had? Will definitely try and do those stretches!

    I think I used too heavy of a plate and hurt my knee trying to bring it over my toe.

    I have no issue with deep squat. Instead I am over-flexible in the spine, so that the deep squat always results in buttwink. My best warm up is to load the squat with 120% of my max 1 rep and then only "stand there" for 20 sec a few times, before reducing weight and squating properly

      I have never heard of being "over-flexible" in the spine. It is normal to be able to flex the lumbar spine. Usually, butt wink is due to a lack of ankle mobility. Squat U has some videos and shorts on the topic, so does Alan Thrall.

    The girl at the beginning doesn’t seem to quite grasp the point of the movement. The point isn’t to just shimmy left and right at the bottom. Lean forward with purpose over each ankle to feel a stretch in your calf and achilles tendon to help ankle mobility. I also push my knees out with my elbows but I find for me personally, sitting indian style, gripping the front of my feet, and pulling forward gives me a better groin stretch. Key is to find what works for you and helps your movements or just helps you feel more loose. Im just not a flexible guy.

      @@alexk-gr8kq youll feel it. Rule of thumb is to try to stack your joints. Knees over toes. You might have excellent ankle mobility and it feels like you are doing nothing but you should feel a great stretch in your achilles tendon at minimum

    this is not for everyone, some people have a bone structure that simply doesnt allow them to squat deep, and its ok, dont break ur back trying this if u have that skeletal structure
