I don't think anyone in my entire highschool would recognize this song even today. I was born in 1981 so I caught the tail end of the 80s movement when I was getting into music. I never got sucked into the 90s, thank Gawd. They all missed out.
One of the few songs Vinnie didn’t ruin with a crazy fast nonsensical guitar solo during the Invasion days. Marks voice shines on this and shows why he and Dana did so well after they started Slaughter. It had to kill Vinnie that it has “ Featuring Mark Slaughter” on the opening and closing credit. Who ever decided to dress Vinnie up like Freddy and do that clawing motion should be shot! An actual kitten looks ten times as menacing as he does.
Vinnie was such a wasted talent. Great song writer and guitar player, but tried to hard trying to be something he wasn't. Mark, Dana, and Bob moved onto better things.
Hell yeah turn it up to 11! Vinnie did pretty great for the short time that he was in kiss. even without them he still wrote great tunes. Whether people like him or not you gotta admit he is super talented.
I met Mark Slaughter and the rest of the group Slaughter in 1990 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They were on tour with KISS. KISS cancelled their show because Paul "broke a rib" but Slaughter still signed autographs. They were all nice guys. Tim Kelly RIP.
I loved this band! We met Mark Slaughter when they came to Houston (1987?), very nice guy. They played a club, can't remember the name now, but it was August and very hot. Vinnie had a roadie bring water to those of us at the front of the stage. Truly miss them!
this is why the 80s kicked ass, not just cause the movies were fucking awesome, and the music was fucking bad ass, but because the movies got kick ass fucking metal to go along with them.
awesomeness within itself !! man this takes me back to the day !! i am almost 40 now, but when this came out, times were fun, and music was good, and the hair bands ruled !! mark slaughter is an amazing vocalist.
This song is actually used during the scene where Rick and Kristen are telling Alice that Kincaid and Joey died the night before. But the song's playing on the jukebox in the diner so you have to listen kind of carefully to really hear it.
probably the most beautifully orchestrated songs ever. especially the break down from acoustic to electric. it is played in an weird ass a to an f#.but, other than music, this song carrys a huge place in my heart. it has alot of emotional baggage it carries with it ,for me. if you have ever been in love and lost that love...listen to this song and see if it wont carry some baggage for you too.
This song plays during a scene in the diner where Kristen and Rick come in to tell Alice that Kincaid and Joey died the night before and Kristen tells Alice that she's going after Freddy. It's playing on the jukebox so it's really low, especially on the DVD.
I love this song, and I miss music like this, where did you find this so I can put this on my Ipod, please let me know. I so miss the 80's music and headbangers ball on mtv. I love 80's hair bands. This is one of my favorite Nightmare on Elm street.
"Lord please, please, please ease my pain." Powerful tune, done with killer guitar work and above avg vocals. Whenever these lists of power rock ballads come out, i am always disturbed that this song never makes the cut. Should possibly be #1. I could listen to this tune daily.
My daughter's always saying, "You met EVERYBODY!" I tell her she's mostly right. Eric Carr was the coolest, though. There was a story out around them about Vinnie receiving a suicide note from a fan and actually showing up on their doorstep to stop them. I don't know how true it is, but it was never dis-proved.
@ 500... VVI was actually formed in LasVagas in I believe '83 .. recorded the 1st album in '84... This was Marks 1st real gig ... He later formed Slaughter then went back to record this song with Vinny due to a few lines he(Mark)wrote.. & copywrite laws ..he had to when the producers of the movie wanted this song ...
his 1st wife was abducted by a homeless man & found dead in 2000...omg :O ... poor vinnie , maybe one day he'll come back and write beautiful songs just like this one. what a tragedy :(
The solo is very reminiscent of the solo in KISS's "Detroit Rock City", which makes sense considering how many times Vinnie played it during his tenure in KISS.
I was a fan of the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, and the one thing that made me dissilusioned was getting my hands on a couple of bootlegs where Mark couldn't sing crap! I really liked Slaughter (the band), where he seemed to be doing better -great in fact- but it wouldn't surprise if these days it's over.
The scene this song plays during the background in is a scene in the diner where Kristen and Rick tell Alice that Kincaid and Joey died the night before and Kristen tells Alice that she's going after Freddy. It's playing on the jukebox so it's kind of hard to hear on the DVD, but if you have the original Media VHS print from when the movie first came out, it's a bit easier to hear
Don't understand how Vinnie could have had a comeback but, pulled the same bullshit again! Guy is a great guitarist. Genuine fans are out there. Why can't he be the same for us?
Besides that fantastic voice, did anyone else think Mark Slaughter was f'ing hot?
He is. I saw in person in 1991.
80's rules.. i wish i could live those years
Mark Slaughter has such a beautiful voice! Loved this band!!

I don't think anyone in my entire highschool would recognize this song even today. I was born in 1981 so I caught the tail end of the 80s movement when I was getting into music. I never got sucked into the 90s, thank Gawd. They all missed out.
Mark has one of the best voices of 80's...
1 of my favorite songs of all time
It was on MTV. I remember watching it back in the 80s. I use to hum this song as I walked to catch the bus back in 8th grade.

I had such a crush on Mark Slaughter! Love this song and the movie!

This song is a damn masterpiece. A symphony. And so many people don't even know it exists!
Your a lifetime ago but a memory away........

This song is so musical for a pop metal tune. I don't know why it wasn't more popular.
imo, the absolute best power ballad of the 80's. Love this song.
Vinnie vincent invasion, please reunite and take over the world of music. Bring back the eighties.
GOD his hair is so MAGNIFICENT, its like a lions mane!!!! I love this so much

This is awesome. Brings back memories of the 80's.
I love when Vinnie is in the Freddy suit and claws at the camera and then winks and smiles.
I loved this band! We met Mark Slaughter when they came to Houston (1987?), very nice guy. They played a club, can't remember the name now, but it was August and very hot. Vinnie had a roadie bring water to those of us at the front of the stage. Truly miss them!
THIS IS THE BEST SONG!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
this is why the 80s kicked ass, not just cause the movies were fucking awesome, and the music was fucking bad ass, but because the movies got kick ass fucking metal to go along with them.
nightmare 4 is one of my all-time favorite movies! brings me back to the early 90s..
My favourite 80' band !
awesomeness within itself !! man this takes me back to the day !! i am almost 40 now, but when this came out, times were fun, and music was good, and the hair bands ruled !! mark slaughter is an amazing vocalist.

LOVED Mark Slaughter, and Sebastian Bach and Ian Astbury....back in the day!!
never heard this song until tonight. its fucking great! that mark slaughter has got some serious talent.
It was 1988. This song was featured on the Nightmare On Elm Street 4 soundtrack which is why you see a lot of footage from the movie in the video.
this video remembered the 80's the eighties don't dead yet
Boy I will never be the same now that you have totally lefted my life big daddy Rey P
Me too. That time of year makes me fall to my knees. It's great to know i'm not alone.

I LOVE this song!!
I like the part where Vinnie is Freddie Krueger... :D Brilliant!!
Wow - I was just thinking of this song the other day remembering how the "Freddy movies" scared the heck outta me when I was a kid. Ha! Great song.
Great songwriting thanks to Vinnie Vincent. The lyrics are seriously intense. Mark sings this song so eerie, nobody could have done it better.
Slaughters 'Wild Life' album has to be arguably one of the finest produced albums ever made.Way underrated.
I agree, first time I saw Kiss, Vinnie Vincent was lead guitar player. I have spot in my Heart for him as Guitar player.
i love vinnie 4 ever
"Lord please, please, please ease my pain."

OH MY GOD MARK SLAUGHTER'S VOICE:....
The singer is Mark Slaughter. Became the lead singer of Slaughter.

Love this baby mark

Saw him 3 years ago with Vince Neil at a casino here in AZ. That voice isn't what it used to be. It was like fingers on a chalkboard.
incredible song...vinnie is so talented.
Best in class ever
I was a fan of the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, and the one thing that made me dissilusioned was getting my hands on a couple of bootlegs where Mark couldn't sing crap!
