@@EriboxBeatbox I know all this but didn’t find it necessary to specify to someone who is very unlikely to delve deep into beatboxing. I can see him hitting the outside but not much after that. I was just trying to show the creator a bit of context to the capabilities. I know it wasn’t perfect but it did the job. And again I do know everything you’re saying. And gbb can be consider world champs these days so you’re just correcting for no reason.
@@kurtg1349 It could potentially be considered as a replacement for the World Championships, but it cant really act like such if the World Championships are happening this year again. GBB is GBB and WBBC is WBBC.

Oh boy this will be bad news but sadly this is not an official beatbox crew. This was just a one time collab. They don't have any other songs together other than this one.
That being said there's other amazing crews you could check out like "Berywam."
sorry to say but this was a one off collab 😭 but every member aside from the Alexhinho (French man in the middle beside the Korean named “Hiss”) have their solo works in high quality too.

I love how beatboxing is slowly growing, ever since I saw It, I was hoping for other people to notice because this stuff is really difficult and they are just incredible.
There's a new wave of a cappella music because beatboxing has evolved so much in the past several years. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw groups where everyone could beatbox, sing, rap, and basically have the faculties to create whatever music they want. It's amazing to see how grateful people are for it, and it makes me so excited for the future
you wouldn’t be wrong, check out beatpella house, they only have 3 projects so far, 2 covers and an original but they’re all next level acapella, beatbox is an absolute joker card of a skill for music
Really cool to see your reaction and analysis! This is a beatbox crew, they all typically perform in beatbox tournaments by themselves, Colaps and Alexhino are world champions River is vice champ and Hiss is vice champ and Asia champ. For some reason competitive beatboxing has developed separately from acapella, but it would be cool to see the two scenes become more aware of each other and collaborate. There's tons of amazing performances of solo beatboxers and beatbox crews if you want to check more out.
I 100% agree here. Beatboxers have been pushing the human voice further than ever before and it would be amazing to see more acapella performances involve some new-school beatbox techniques. Just seeing Mortius' mind get blown the moment he hears river's throat bass + trumpet combo shows how much acapella could get from the beatbox scene.

@@EriboxBeatbox here I’m just using the term for how they did at the biggest international tournament of that year. Since he’s just discovering beatboxing I’m trying to not overwhelm him with too much unnecessary info at once. For watching a music video and learning roughly who they are I think it’s enough to know they won the biggest tournament. If he decides to do more videos on competitions later we can explain the differences and their history then.
@@EriboxBeatbox To be fair we haven't had an official word championship since 2018 and most people would argue that nowadays a GBB title is just as impressive as a WBBC title if not more.
@@enmanuel1950 We havent had one because of the Pandemic, thats why the 6th World Champs are happening this year (they happen every 3rd year)

Beatboxers can not only make all kinds of sounds with their mouth, throat, and chest, but, most are also very good musicians and singers. As a classically trained vocalist, and acapella performer (barbershop harmony), I really FELT this reaction!! LOL! Watching you, I felt like I was watching ME the first time I went down the modern beatbox community rabbit hole. I haven't read the other comments, but I'm sure people have already pointed out the world-class awards these performers have already achieved (Hiss is MASSIVE in Korea, and the other three are French beatbox icons). The biggest difficulty you're likely to have as you get inundated with requests to jump further down the rabbit hole is this.
Many of these gentlemen are more percussive than melodic, though that is changing. They are, as you so rightly say, exceptional in their skills, but many videos are of individual beatboxers by themselves. As a result, many beatbox videos are not capable of this level of sonic structure because one person can only do so much on their own even at the highest levels. It can be hard to learn to appreciate sometimes.
However, if that proves to be no problem, it is one of the coolest musical scenes I've ever fallen into, and I'm so glad you've fallen into it too.

This was a special collaboration as Hiss, who did the arrangement and audio, was flown out from South Korea to France to judge a beatbox tournament, and decided to stay a while to record this. I’m sure there will be other projects like this, but maybe not with this exact lineup of beatboxers, although they do travel a lot for competitions so they could do one again if there’s an opportunity. River and Colaps regularly perform together under the name Rogue Wave.
From the left 1) river - french champ , 2nd place beatbox champs 2022.

3) hiss - Asian champ , Korean champ .
4) colaps - french champ, beatbox champ 2022 . Top 3 world champ.
All these achievements are only those i know of , each of them has more that in unaware of.

Lots of beatboxing now is very musicality based. There are technical more traditional beatboxers and some very musically talented.
Also look up Den! His BBU videos are basically fully produced pop songs, but all just one person's voice

I note that Hiss is South Korean. Back in October of last year, I watched a reaction from _The Fairy Voice Mother_ to the Japanese Beat-boxer/singer "Show-Go," and after that, got a bunch of UA-cam recommendations for other vocal percussionists out of Asia. I don't know much about their beatboxing culture, but from what I've seen and heard, it's very different from American and European styles. And also, very cool.
You're pretty much right. I'd add that not only by a continent, but styles differs by countries. Nowadays Koreans are more musical and vocal (WING is one of the best examples, he made several classic pieces) and Hiss actually produced the melodic parts. French are famous for their really fast beatbox and incomprehensible combinations of sounds. Here's Colaps (he clicks on the video) that has won the biggest beatbox competition with fast beatbox. Russians are famous for really loud and clean sounds. There's some tendencies in some countries, but the art is too versatile to stay in one style.
Of course, globalization and experience exchange kind of erase borders of genres and we have Alexinho and Hiss with similar style, and there can be Skiller from Belgium that can easily outspeed France beatboxers, or Codfish from Australia that is a legend for his musical and songwriting abilities
Who Cares by Hiss + Alexinho would be another great reaction, there are less vocals but I think some of their techniques will astound you
One of the best beatbox reactions I've seen. It's always nice to see someone who's new to beatbox, but like in your case, exceptionally nice to see them vibing hard to it and understanding how much effort it takes to create and execute such a video.

Now that he's seen this masterpiece, to be honest currently in the beatbox scene this is considered to be one of the best if not the best musically produced piece by beatboxers. But there are beatboxers Like Den who focus more on musicality than crazy techniques so I'd say he needs to watch some of Den's work, especially his rounds in the BBU22

hey Mortius. Finally you are about to get into the Rabbit Hole that is Beatboxing. you should also listen to the beatbox group Berrywam. They are extremly good at what they do.
They are all very well respected individuals in the beatbox community. To be more percise, this WAS all voices. They all flew to meet up with each other and only spent 4 days planning and recording all this, and Hiss, the korean dude with the bowl cut, mixed and mastered it.
Obviously they all recorded the voices and beatbox sounds in the studio but there was no added effects or patterns that wasn't performed by the mouth except for maybe a little reverb and bass boost. This type of musical content has been thriving and brewing up in the beatbox community for a couple years now and I'm glad you're reacting to it.
This group comprises of 3 french dudes, two of which are involved in a beatboxing tag team. The guy in the far right and far left are both french by nationality but columbian by blood, if I remember correctly. And Hiss is south korean.
Welcome to beatboxing, lol. This is a really exceptional performance by four of the very best beatboxers on the planet and there is a little editing happening but not much, these guys are this good.

Those four are elite level beatboxers. River is very musical, alexinho is an O.G technical speed demon, Hiss is like a new school musical beatboxer/producer and Colaps is a technical wizard and I believe he's the current solo category beatbox champion which he won at 2021s GBB. 2022 was cancelled for obvious reasons.
Hope this helps abit and each one for these amazing artist has loads of videos you can watch, I think you'd be surprised and impressed at the talents not only of beatboxers being able to make music with their mouths but the level of singing and vocal range within the community. If your more into singing check out someone like Vahtang from Russia that man can sing.
Beatboxing has an amazing community and i feel that is because of the image that the Artists show for beatboxing. Let me explain these guys can work so well together but they would also not take a second breath to battle each other and its amazing plus they mostly always finish battles with hugs and nothing but respect for each other. ESH👊🔥👊

Your reaction is the same I had when I discovered Beatboxing. I am a huge Maytree fan and I was looking at all their videos when I found a acapella maytree did on a Korean show called vocal play. They were doing a acapela with the barberetts and Wing. When Wing started beatboxing I wasn't sure where the noise was coming from so I looked him up and let me tell you , My impression of beatboxers changed that day. So i suggest you look at Wing and other beatboxers.

The 2 guys on the left were singing and the 3rd guy was doing the bass, then all 3 join in with the trumpets/bass section. So the clicks, the high pitched "clink" type sound, snares all done by one guy

Instead I'd recommend you to check out 'vocal play' so you can see what happens when some of the best Korean beatboxers (Wing, Hiss, Huckle, Mighty, H-has) collaborate with the best Korean Acapella groups.

Hey mate, to add more informations on the table, River, Alexinho & Colaps are three french beatboxers.
River is vice champion of the GBB 2021, and was litterally favorite with a fantastic wildcard.
Alexinho is "just" a french champ x] he won multiple editions.
Colaps is the World champ, he won the GBB 2021 (yeah, he was battelling against River, it was a french strong finale).
And Hiss, is an Asia champ and also the winner of the BBU 2022, he's from South Korea and does sooo many remix of other beatboxers's tracks, he works like a mad lad and he's of course, an incredible beatboxer, I recommand you Dream Again.
