Thank you! I ripped my entire CD collection with Microsoft Media Player ( 15 GB) to mp3 format . I put every CD album into it's own subdirectory. My Sony music player gives the "dreaded “Unknown Artist: and “Track 1” for the first track in every album, the others seem fine... so far. None of the albums have the artwork. Anyway, your software solution looks like a fix to this. I am still going to try and program it because there may be a thousand or so CD subdirectories involved.

Very nice layout in the video. I am doing about 10K tracks at a time so I probably won't be looking at the alternative version details, etc. Also, don't have any idea what the purpose of clusters is, but I hope to update all the genres. Thanks again
Great tuto ! please another one about the of different way of having the FOLDER or FILE written. For ex folder : RAINBOW (down to earth) For ex file : Rainbow - down to earth - danger zone etc
Tell me, I have the following problem: I have about 800 songs on my flash drive, my car player wants to play songs alphabetically, even if I put them in a folder in a mixed order. What information needs to be changed so that the car player does not play them alphabetically. Shuffle is not an option when the same songs are constantly playing.

why do we copy the music in the first step? Just to have a back-up if the files are not correctly converted? Is MusicBrainz Picard not always reliable?
Picard itself seems very reliable, but as for any app, there's always a risk - especially because the (User+App) system can be less reliable (e.g. when we have not read and understood or remembered our config settings and their implications). I also take time to label the copy as either SafeCopy or PlayCopy - so I don't forget and get them the wrong way round! Also (of course) a separate backup of my collection to unconnected storage (e.g. external disks). Most professionals agree that media of any importance should be stored in at least three different storage items, never all connected at the same time and at least one of them at a separate physical location (different building/town).
Picard can be unreliable. You can if not careful completely destroy all of your tag information if you run it without a back up and recovering from that can be a complete nightmare. So you copy your music and keep the back up at least until you're happy with the outcome of picard. A lesson too... do not get complacent. Picard performed amazingly well over the ~1500 files of sent through it slowly in batches, so I loaded a larger set of tracks feeling confident, and in a few seconds I'd completely destroyed my tag information across several thousand tracks.

i have some issues, in the past i was able to download songs from YT and the tags were present, recently i tried and most if not all of the songs i have downloaded have no tags, im loading the MP3 to musicbrainz and under uncluster there is a "no entry" symbol next to the song, i tried scanning but getting the "could not load album". i followed your video but alas, not getting it. :(

For those of us who create music in a digital audio workstation like Pro Tools or Logic and we download at a higher rate than 16bit/44.1kHz, like 24 bit/96kHz, are you able to do that with this software and if you have created your own cover and have it in jpg form, are you able to use it?

Use Mp3tag to do this. Go to my video... "How to add tags to mp3 audio files using mp3tag". - ua-cam.com/video/XO5o9-vVTE4/v-deo.html - go to part "Convert tag to filename (20:57)" Highlight all tracks, and then click on "Convert Tag to Filename" (Alt+1). Then in the box Format string: BOX, type only - %title% - and press ok.
I just downloaded MusicBrainz Picard today. I have Windows version 2.5.6 running. Is that the latest? My version does NOT have the ribbon bar that you show in the View menu at 0:50
@@TeflDude wait a minute - are you in the MusicBrainz app or Windows 10 File Explorer? I'm thinking you are in File Explorer with some black skin added. The standard Windows 10 theme would have made this more intuitive about what you were doing.
They say it works on certain mac books but not all. This is one of the many reasons I don't own a mac, they are too restrictive with what you can do on them.

HATE this muiscbrainz... so incredibly useless for doing the basics, editing tags! Seriously, select all files, there is no contextual menu, no editing panel, no field to change the album or artist names for all those files at once. SO BAD! I am sorry. I do not understand your problem. If you follow all my steps in the video you can tag your music to be ordered on your phone, tablet etc... this is the point of the video.

YES, it computes acoustic fingerprints of any music file you throw at it and finds the correct meta data, even if there are no metadata or file names at all to work with. It is in fact the software (and organization) that invented AcoustID, aka "fingerprinting".

There is so much information you are not saying. What is your pc? what is your OS version? What do your music files look like, What info exists if any already. Are they Mp3, flac, wav etc...? Make a video of you trying to install and use the program and then I can help you.

yes 20 years ago when there were hardly many bands or albums to choose from. It is harder because of trying to shift through the volume of work that is now available.
The Artist Nowadays Release song as Single, Then Put it in Album, Then A Deluxe Version of Album, The same song is Present in Movies OST Album, And After few Years The same song is in Best of (Artist Name), Anniversary additions like Recovery by Eminem is released again in 2020 Resulting in Multiple Albums, Album Arts and Metadata This confuses most of software resulting in lack of accuracy
All virus scanners (your one I have never heard of - so it is probably a scam to buy it) are now useless and no one needs to buy them, win 10 has its own. Anti-virus software now sells your data to companies - nothing is free, they are desperate for you to buy their rubbish. Believe what you will. Don't use it.
Thanks for the comment. I never thought of the zooming as being annoying. I did it because on too many videos you can never clearly see what the guy is doing or clicking on. I shall keep it in mind for future videos.

This is very well explained and I notice you're doing a few songs at a time...what if you have over 50,000 songs? Can picard handle this?
Yes, but there are so many albums with the same song they may not be in the Album you think it should be.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but when I go to save files they highlight in red and don’t save...
Just go back and try all the steps I did, missing none out. Where you save them is also important.

@@TeflDude ya but that just saves 1 cover per album in batch form. I have an album from various artists and there are 100 different covers.
You cannot do track covers - only album covers. If you put all the tracks under 1 album name then that's how it works.

I never had that happen. Remember you can always modify the result by using MP3Tag, which I also made a video about.

phones do not have separate file system for eps - just lable the album as an ep

I don't know. You need to look on a forum about that. This is instructional videos to make life easier - not harder.
Type %genre%/ somewhere in the file naming tab. The %genre% part sorts music by genre, and putting the backslash sorts it in to its own folder.
