In my opinion this school was set up for the rich kids who were not good enough to get into the top comprehensive school like QEC , Royals, etc. I would love to know how the kids fared up against the kids from the comprehensive schools given that Bocage is a private expensive school.

Completely agree with Ritika’s opinion. If you have such a close minded opinion of what you barely know of Bocage, then keep it to yourself, thanks :)
You can’t make people stop coming to such an amazing school where we learn about dealing with the real world. You really can’t complain.

You cannot compare public schools with LBIS. The education system is completely different starting from the middle years who do MYP and IGCSE whereas public schools do SC. Furthermore in what you call Lower 6 and Upper 6, Le Bocage does the IB Diploma program which is much MORE demanding than HSC and considered to be much more elite.
The IB DP does not only consist of exams but it requires students to use all of their skills, unlike the HSC which is only exam based and maybe a few essays or courseworks to be submitted. Universities MUCH prefer the IB DP and the IB DP is much more globally recognised as a challenging program. For example: in the UK, the IB DP is considered ELITE compared to A Levels. They require students to also do community and service to help the world and it also improves student's communication skills.
Honestly if you compare "top comprehensive school" students to Le Bocage International School students, there is a BIG difference. Already, they are able to communicate fluently and with ease. When going to university, an LBIS student will be able to adapt much faster.
Your argument is invalid as there are students who score 40+ marks on 45, which is hard to achieve in other parts of the world.
I suggest you do your research instead of criticising a school mindlessly based on rumours when you do not know what actually goes on in that school.

@Zeid Badulla you're right, plus in bocage they make us learn how to respect others first, they make us learn the IB learner profile, they also make us learn how to speak in front of an audience so that we don't have trouble speaking to an audience when we grow up.

it's funny. 95+ percent of the learners from Mauritius are as successful as the school claims. The end products from our state schools are even higher achievers, and that is without fees!
This video should be meant to promote the school but to have one of the educators saying " we are one of the best schools" is completely out of context and irrational.

You really can’t compare state schools to Bocage. You can’t say that mauritians attending state schools are higher achievers than those who go to private schools. You know what, if you had more of an open mind (which obviously you don’t learn how to attain if you go to a state school) you would understand that attending a private school encourages so many things beneficial for your future. We respect others ; something you obviously don’t know about, otherwise you wouldn’t have commented this. I don’t know if your comment is out of pure hatred or envy but it really shows your narrow minded self.
I hope you get a life one day. You know, one where you don’t criticize other people’s choices :)

    • @karenty1847

I'd beg to differ on that. Higher achieving students should not only be about results or grades. What LBIS aims is for the students to receive all the IB Learner Profiles (which I am quite certain you will not know of).
Here is the link if you care to read more about it: www.ibo.org/contentassets/fd82f70643ef4086b7d3f292cc214962/learner-profile-en.pdf
Le Bocage already prepares students for their first years at university making it easier for students to adapt to the different system. The program that LBIS does is the IB DP which is globally recognised as an elite program. It is completely different to the HSC where exams are the most important. The IB DP requires students to think critically, principled and open minded. It takes into context real life situations where you cannot do parrot learning from tuition or text books.I suggest you do your research before criticising the video.
Furthermore, I'd like to argue on the fac that you said "without fees". Over 95% of students at state schools take tuition, most of the teachers are not willing to teach in school and only teach outside class. THAT is a fact.
Now, I beg of you, to please be more open minded and not to come up with conclusions simply based on rumours when I am sure you do not even know what Le Bocage International School provides.

Ik I'm two years late but if you go to a state college, then please whatever u just said is a big fat lie. I go to one and it's suffocating. State colleges in Mauritius are a lie. Now we're gonna be academics...I swear it's gonna be worse. And believe me, I would die to leave my state college to go to le bocage

@@shreya4127 ik I'm really late as in 2 years late. Sorry about that random dude even if it's two years but not all people going to state schools are like that. I'm pretty sure that the dude doesn't even go to a state school.
You're absolutely right. And also le bocage is much more better than the state schools. I swear state schools are the worst. I'm 15 and I'm disgusted by my so called state school. There's a lot of competition, less friendly faces, more fake friends, and all they want are good grades. Good grades...good grades...good grades...no one cares about your mental health in here.
All they wanna do is study. Honestly, I'm tired. Everyday I feel like dying for this. I regret coming to a state school.
