I'd say gideon is easier if you beat all the demigods before him, as triple rings of light is replaced with scarlet aeonia, which is pretty easy to dodge and punish. Did you know, there's 9 different gideon's in the ceiling and theyre deployed based on the combinationof demigods youve killed? The only ones that actively change his moveset are rykard, mohg, and malenia, with the "strongest" version of gideon with all their spells being arguably the easiest to take down, as he wont have his ring attack.
Fia killed D with a deathblight trap on the dagger she hands you to give to him. You can't have fights on the Roundtable hold so we have no reason to presume she'd be any good in a straight up fight.

I can’t lie, the Tree Sentinel (and the Draconic evolution) are probably my favourite “Minibosses” from soft have ever made (I know they’ve not made a lot lol - only in Bloodborne, Sekiro & Elden Ring…) They’ve got this unique, imposing nature about them, and this aura that I don’t get with other minibosses. Making them my favourite of the “miniboss” variant… Naturally, with my high praise for the Tree Sentinel, I will find myself to ADORE Loretta 😍 (SIDENOTE: I wanted to congratulate you on your success/trajectory with this channel! Also wish you a nice summer 🙌)
I feel like godskin duo would've been better if they were like either Fool's Idol, Demon Prince or Throne Watcher & Defender Either have it so it's clear how they heal/respawn or have their death create a unique godskin
Gargoyles/Black Blade Kindreds and Crucible Knights were probably my favorite semi-common enemies but their tank fights bring them down a lot in my mind.
lukewarm take: speaking with gideon to bloat his arsenal makes him easier, scarlet aeonia is the easier to punish spell in the game and the rest aren't nearly as troublesome as his default spells, in other words, if he is casting rykard's rancour or bloodboon it means he's not casting glintblade phalanx or the triple rings
I'm pretty sure Fire Giants eye is a weak spot in phase two, and you just got unlucky with the hit boxes on your run. Also, if you knock him down in phase two, you can target his eye for a critical hit.
BTW billy, if you think that the godskin music is good then you should listen to 2nd phase Fortissaxx with bass boost, its imo one of the best musical pieces just in general music for the last like 20 years
I love Astel's "teleports behind you" attacks it feels like a foreshadowing of Placidusax almost It has one of the most jarring re-uses but I really like the clone attack and I wish it was in the original encounter tbh I just wish there was a bit more build up to the fight after you get transported to his cave from the coffin. its kind of just, there
I do like the dragonkin soldier of nokstella quite a bit but it is based mostly on aesthetic and the frozen lightning. Kind of a shame that you have a good chance of just melting its health before really getting to have a good look at the second phase. And yeah there's no defending that one in the lake of rot lol.
I think the complaint about the bosses being too agressive and having way too long combos is stupid. This is because players asume that Elden ring has the same boss formula as DS3 were you wait for a boss to finish a combo and then attack. But in Elden ring you are not given those openings you have to make them yourself just like in Sekiro. This agressive approach makes bosses like Morgott and the Noble so much more fun. You are ment to keep up the pressure and sneak in hits during their combos and use delayed attacks as openings
And that's something I bring up a LOT in the second part of this series. But at the same time, I'm also sick of that argument because I KNOW everyone watched that ONE video essay saying it and suddenly everyone's repeating it verbatim.
I think my favorite fight is Starscourge Radahn. Around a month and a half ago I attempted to do him without summons for the first time at a lower level (40-50), and boy what a fight. Took me around 20 tries to finally fell him. An incredible fight all around, from spectacle to the fight itself. As for my least favorite, Valiant Gargoyles can go die in a hole.
I've beaten Valiant Gargoyles on RL1 and surprisingly my strong ire for them vanished. They're still mediocre, but knowing that I need to use strike weapons, being forced to learn their movesets due to how easily they kill me in their prior appearances and here, and however they've been patched (I think the ground poison is more visible; it was a milky green that contrasted a bit better with the ground) made them C tier rather than F tier for me. Twinblade should've come in with half health; this would have made it worthwhile to attack either gargoyle rather than waiting for an opening on the other one and then having a glorified victory lap taking down twinblade afterwards.
@@yurinoworry I checked out a few videos from near release and near today and I don't think the visuals have changed. I couldn't find one where they spray poison straight forward in a line though, and if anything that's what got patched. I think the main thing is to play locked off during the duo section and be aware of what both gargoyles are doing. Once I did that, the poison became far more manageable. Also they fixed the Godskin Apostle's heal punish fireball; it no longer happens robotically often nor unreactably soon, meaning you can dodge the fireball and get a hit in.
I feel like Astel is a Bloodborne boss who got dropped in Elden Ring. Really no idea why the reused version exists. If they established that the fallingstar beasts or the machine gun mini-astels grows into these, it would be a bit better, but then they lazily reused Godrick too.
My first Godskin Noble was the one that's part of Ranni's questline, he and the Regal Ancestor Spirit were both pretty early rage points for me because I was trying to rush the quest relatively early on (for cosplay purposes) and I did not have the damage or survivability those two clearly were asking for, and I was too stubborn to stop and go elsewhere and just return later (even though RAS doesn't even need to be beaten I don't think? Don't remember exactly). The Noble in particular was just...ugh. I had to exploit getting him stuck on bits of the bridge you fight him on to keep his roll from just instantly crushing me every time.
Yeah, the Ancestor Spirit is entirely optional. And as for the Godskin Noble, I honestly skipped the fight my first playthrough on the bridge, but when I fought it this time around, the difficulty was surprising. I think he's more overtuned than his Volcano Manor variant.

I know its 10 months past, but the eye for fire gisnt is a weakspot- for stance damage. If you can hit the eye with a charged or 2 he will stance break incredibly fast

Yellow stuff on his face Lol
The Golden Rings, Gideon's most annoying spell, vanishes along with the comet azur if you max out his demigod spells. Regal Ancestor's Spirit's healing is what ruins the fight. He will heal back to full occasionally during the fight, so his health needs to be low enough that it's reasonable to kill him. So either you stomp him into nonexistence and don't see the full moveset taken from all of the animals he revives into, or it becomes an endless endurance match. It should've had double the health, but healed half his health the first time, a quarter each time after that or some such. Also, I'd stick the commanders under Goldrey. They were just a bit annoying to be honest. Loretta deserved her own music. After coming in on my RL1 run to finally fight Fortissax without being overlevelled, the fight was... just okay. It just didn't really feel engaging, all I was doing was slashing at his feet while dodging the tracking lightning and then vaguely paying attention to the boss's actual attacks. Lansseax's arena was just awful but she helped me figure out some of the nuances of that moveset in advance.
Followup comment since I finished the video: I agree 100% about Godskin Noble; fixing him could make the Duo a lot better (although the way the duo is designed, you can simply avoid getting the Noble into phase 2 most of the fight). Fortissax's death blight was a non issue to be honest; just weave through it running towards the boss and it's gone by the time he's doing something else. It might be like Seath's crystals where you want to run toward it so you're going after the ones that will time out first rather than last. Also I just finished TUNIC's true ending two days ago, absolutely loved that game.
My boyfriend is actually a big fan of Fire Giant and doesn't like Radahn! We are both on our first playthroughs though and he's cheesef Radahn with rot breath every time...

Misbegotten Warrior & Crucible Knight is good to be honest; they've been nerfed to be a bit braindead against solo players and will take turns, but even without that the Warrior has a low passive poise so you can bully him with strong attacks, and the Crucible Knight can be parried without too much headache.
@@minerman60101 I mean, it just seems like they took two random enemies and put them together in the same arena. You can bully the Misbegotten before the Crucible Knight even shows up, making the whole idea of a duo fight practically useless. Also, they're so weirdly placed..
I wonder if just like all the other souls games the dlc bosses will be better than the main bosses, when some of them are already as good as the dlc bosses from bloodborne snd ds3
tbh I think people exaggerate how bad the Godskin duo actually is. It's bad, but it's definetly not the worst boss ever. To me it's not even in the top 10 worst souls bosses
I haven't even played Elden Ring yet and want to sooooooooo bad. I dont have anything to play it on, however. I think, even now without playing it, it's my favorite game oat, and definently will be if it's half as cool as what I've seen.
For me, the worst boss was the godskin duo. They're incredibly annoying to fight if you don't have sleep pots or some way to inflict sleep. Second worst is Godrick just because he's a whiny bitch. At least his Great Rune is the best in the game.
You know it’s honestly a bit disappointing to me that we can’t rematch the Mimic tears unless we go into ng+ or start a new save. It would have been such a cool way to essentially make your own boss in game, giving it different weapons, skills and spells on repeat. Such a missed opportunity! Would have made it no.1 in my eyes. :/ Oh well… at least I got a kick out of seeing the Mimic Tear bosses using the wraith calling bell. That shit was hilarious 😂 .
Godskin Duo is just a worse version of the Four Kings. It’s weird they had a near perfect late game dps test boss a decade ago not sure what happened here
Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella is actually one of my favorite bosses and has a cool design and way of fighting, especially in phase 2... but sadly the other 2 fall very short despite both being later in the game... I would've loved if they each had a phase 2 that reflected what they dropped... Nokron using the halberd and Rot using the katana.
Kind of an unpopular opinion but i believe The Valiant Gargoyles are WORSE than the godskin duo. Eith the godskin duo you can pop your mimic tear and somewhat balance the fight a little bit. In the valiant gargoyles boss fight the mimic tear makes SO LITTLE difference. Both gargoyles will launch at your a$$ and spew their fxcking annoying poison, that no man can see, EVERYWHERE while they do their shitty attacks over over. Godskin duo took me 4 tries while the gargoyles 3 days😭
I hate fire giant I don’t feel satisfied dodging his attacks I hate being forced to focus on his pyromancy I don’t really like the weak spots in the second phase his camera goes crazy and for me he always ends up on top of a tree making him impossible to hit I know objectively he’s not terrible he is my undisputed least favorite in er and my 2nd to last in the series
In my opinion, swap Godskin Duo and Valiant Gargoyles. There is nothing redeeming about them and at least the Godskin Duo has insanely great music and both bosses are fun on their own whereas the gargoyles are annoying no matter what.
For me, Fortissax has so much going for him aesthetically, but his moveset doesn't quite hold up, and his health is simply too low for his place in the game.
Hard disagree... Fortissax, like all dragons in elden ring (except Placidusax, which imo is the actual best dragon in the game and 2nd best in the series after Midir) he has a bad moveset that makes him miss way too much, has barely any hp due to being a boss you always encounter being way too overleveled... and the ancient dragons are so annoying to fight in this game, I never liked bosses that you have to attack their legs.. so they amount on long fights that are just not all too enjoyable.

Makes sense - Bloodborne's focus on Lovecraft and great ones definitely matches the Outer Gods of Elden Ring in tone.

The Golden Rings, Gideon's most annoying spell, vanishes along with the comet azur if you max out his demigod spells. Regal Ancestor's Spirit's healing is what ruins the fight. He will heal back to full occasionally during the fight, so his health needs to be low enough that it's reasonable to kill him. So either you stomp him into nonexistence and don't see the full moveset taken from all of the animals he revives into, or it becomes an endless endurance match. It should've had double the health, but healed half his health the first time, a quarter each time after that or some such. Also, I'd stick the commanders under Goldrey. They were just a bit annoying to be honest. Loretta deserved her own music. After coming in on my RL1 run to finally fight Fortissax without being overlevelled, the fight was... just okay. It just didn't really feel engaging, all I was doing was slashing at his feet while dodging the tracking lightning and then vaguely paying attention to the boss's actual attacks. Lansseax's arena was just awful but she helped me figure out some of the nuances of that moveset in advance.
Followup comment since I finished the video: I agree 100% about Godskin Noble; fixing him could make the Duo a lot better (although the way the duo is designed, you can simply avoid getting the Noble into phase 2 most of the fight). Fortissax's death blight was a non issue to be honest; just weave through it running towards the boss and it's gone by the time he's doing something else. It might be like Seath's crystals where you want to run toward it so you're going after the ones that will time out first rather than last. Also I just finished TUNIC's true ending two days ago, absolutely loved that game.
My boyfriend is actually a big fan of Fire Giant and doesn't like Radahn! We are both on our first playthroughs though and he's cheesef Radahn with rot breath every time...

Misbegotten Warrior & Crucible Knight is good to be honest; they've been nerfed to be a bit braindead against solo players and will take turns, but even without that the Warrior has a low passive poise so you can bully him with strong attacks, and the Crucible Knight can be parried without too much headache.

You can bully the Misbegotten before the Crucible Knight even shows up, making the whole idea of a duo fight practically useless.
Also, they're so weirdly placed..

tbh I think people exaggerate how bad the Godskin duo actually is. It's bad, but it's definetly not the worst boss ever. To me it's not even in the top 10 worst souls bosses
I haven't even played Elden Ring yet and want to sooooooooo bad. I dont have anything to play it on, however. I think, even now without playing it, it's my favorite game oat, and definently will be if it's half as cool as what I've seen.

For me, the worst boss was the godskin duo. They're incredibly annoying to fight if you don't have sleep pots or some way to inflict sleep. Second worst is Godrick just because he's a whiny bitch. At least his Great Rune is the best in the game.
You know it’s honestly a bit disappointing to me that we can’t rematch the Mimic tears unless we go into ng+ or start a new save. It would have been such a cool way to essentially make your own boss in game, giving it different weapons, skills and spells on repeat. Such a missed opportunity! Would have made it no.1 in my eyes. :/
Oh well… at least I got a kick out of seeing the Mimic Tear bosses using the wraith calling bell. That shit was hilarious 😂 .

Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella is actually one of my favorite bosses and has a cool design and way of fighting, especially in phase 2... but sadly the other 2 fall very short despite both being later in the game... I would've loved if they each had a phase 2 that reflected what they dropped... Nokron using the halberd and Rot using the katana.
Kind of an unpopular opinion but i believe The Valiant Gargoyles are WORSE than the godskin duo. Eith the godskin duo you can pop your mimic tear and somewhat balance the fight a little bit. In the valiant gargoyles boss fight the mimic tear makes SO LITTLE difference. Both gargoyles will launch at your a$$ and spew their fxcking annoying poison, that no man can see, EVERYWHERE while they do their shitty attacks over over. Godskin duo took me 4 tries while the gargoyles 3 days😭
I hate fire giant I don’t feel satisfied dodging his attacks I hate being forced to focus on his pyromancy I don’t really like the weak spots in the second phase his camera goes crazy and for me he always ends up on top of a tree making him impossible to hit I know objectively he’s not terrible he is my undisputed least favorite in er and my 2nd to last in the series

In my opinion, swap Godskin Duo and Valiant Gargoyles. There is nothing redeeming about them and at least the Godskin Duo has insanely great music and both bosses are fun on their own whereas the gargoyles are annoying no matter what.
Fortissax is the 2nd best dragon fight in all soulsborne after Darkeater Midir, how could you do this to him!?
For me, Fortissax has so much going for him aesthetically, but his moveset doesn't quite hold up, and his health is simply too low for his place in the game.
Hard disagree... Fortissax, like all dragons in elden ring (except Placidusax, which imo is the actual best dragon in the game and 2nd best in the series after Midir) he has a bad moveset that makes him miss way too much, has barely any hp due to being a boss you always encounter being way too overleveled... and the ancient dragons are so annoying to fight in this game, I never liked bosses that you have to attack their legs.. so they amount on long fights that are just not all too enjoyable.
Placidusax is better ngl, fortissax is like 5th place on the Dragon list, mainly because of his annoying lightning time bomb
