I have had mine a while. LOVE it!!! I just cooked a WHOLE chicken in it yesterday; not spatchcocked. Turned out great! I have also baked a cake in it, did salmon, steaks, roast, porkchops, etc. For those who question why ChefMode sets this device apart, it literally cooks from inside outward with Browning as its last level. The water is a gentle mist throughout cooks when water is required. I could go on more. Absolutely no regrets!
@@victorbitter583 I agree with you, but also know what he means. It brings the overall temperature up gradually (sous vide style) then blasts the outside with higher heat to sear it.

Kathy - I know you did this video 5 months ago but when I first watched it I thought I really want to try ribs in my Dreo. Fast forward 5 months and tonight my husband and I both feasted on ribs for dinner. For empty nesters the amount cooked was perfect. Thank you for all of your videos and I love your cookbook!
I’m a new follower as of today. I just started looking at a million videos of air fryer reviews in the last 2 weeks since I decided I wanted one. Your videos are so helpful. Order placed and I can’t wait!
I got the Dreo when it was on kickstarter so I paid half the retail price. I only use it for meat. I use my Cosori for everything else. It does meat great.
Thank you for your video on the Dreo. I purchased one and it's awesome. I love your videos. Living on my own as an empty nester, your recipes are great to really step up my meals. Keep the videos coming!
I'll stick to Instant Pot to cook ribs then caramelize in the air fryer if I am not using the smoker. I don't like all that burn on the outside. I want more control.
Great overview and demonstration. The Corosori Dual Blaze is hard to beat. The Dreo Combi Cooker looks really nice but the $360 price .v. the $150 Corosori III isn't justified. Seems like too many parts and components to fail and the basket doesn't look as large as the DB. Your previous vids showed how hot the glass windows get duing cooking. The thermometer seems cumbersome and fragile and would seemingly render the Dreo CC impotent if lost or damaged. As well, the water chamber may be harder or awkward to clean therefore inviting mold and other bacteria to grow over time if the unit does not allow for easy cleaning access. Thanks for the efforts put forth in all your fantastic videos. Best!!
Thanks for the compliments AND comments! I should have addressed these things... in the system menu, you can actually drain the water chamber fully (just push the button and in a few minutes it has drained). There is also a descale cycle you can put it through. The basket is about 1/2" square smaller. And the thermometer is actually very well built. I keep it in the drawer where I keep my other instant read therms.
I have both the Dreo and Dual Blaze. I agree with everything Kathy mentioned. I drain my water after every use and store with the water lid off. I've heard rumors that Dreo will be dropping 40% for black friday and selling for $215! If I had money to burn, I would buy another Dreo and shelf my Dual Blaze, honestly. The 450 temp on the Dreo plus the probe and sous vide modes put it over the top for me. The bottom element on the Dual Blaze ended up being less of an advantage than I had hoped. I find I typically cook with the DB on the Broil setting to avoid smoke. The Dreo itself is really well made and quite noticeably heavier than my Cosori. So far no issues keeping it clean or using the probe and I've used this thing pretty much every day, sometimes more than once, for the past 3 months. Anyone with the funds and interest, I would say go for it!
Thank you for your wonderful reviews! After comparing the yet-to-be-reviewed Cuisineart with the Cosori Pro I I, I selected the PRO II. This unit replaces a Breville mini oven-style air dryer. My results with the Breville were good, but they were not what I expected from a AF. Cleaning was a source of aggravation. Now I need to find a recipe for citrus salmon that's as good as they use at “The Hanger” in Juneau. 😊
Between you and Sorted Food I backed the Kickstarter for this and have had it for a week. I've done chicken legs (superb - just used the thigh setting and they turned out cooked through but SO juicy), a 2" ribeye (best steak I've ever cooked for myself, and I usually Sous Vide my steak. Helps it was a quality piece of meat to begin with). I even did thick sausages (UK sausages) with the probe setting and they worked really well though I forgot to flip them halfway. Now, if there's a downside it's limited options in the Chef menu. eg I had a small beef "chump roast" (yeah, I know - I think it's equivalent to a rump roast. Must be a local thing) but while there are several settings for steaks, there's only one beef joint setting "beef brisket". I tried that setting, assuming the probe would keep it right but was fortunate to test it with my usual temperature probe and pulled it out about 2 hrs into a 3.5 hour estimated cook time that would have left it like an old boot. Cooking it like a steak probably would have done a better job, as it was only about 3 lbs. Excited to try salmon, whole chicken (will be a squeeze), pork shoulder steaks etc. etc.
I used to watch videos from my favorite rib restaurant (Phils BBQ) to see what the heck they were doing in the back. So I determined they spicerub them up, put them in a commercial steam oven "Rational iCombi", and then they would take them out of there, sauce them up and toss them over a flaming grill and burn the sauce on. Very interesting possibilities with a mini combi steam oven.
Oh Kathy...you really need to do a brisket in the chefmaker. I'm smelling mine cook right now...heavenly! I saw Indigo Nili feature the Dreo brisket recipe/instructions on her channel and it looked good enough to try myself! I hope you give that a shot in another video. The ribs seem kind of pointless unless just cooking for one. I would probably use a 'Meater' in the regular oven for the wrapped part of the cook and then finish sections in the air fryer after saucing but realistically, it can all probably be done in the oven with about the same results. My family has purchased 3 of the Chefmakers already and we just love them for cooking almost everything! Thanks for the great video!
It's relatively pricey and that was my main reservation when you did your first video on it, but the results were pretty impressive. I'd really like to see another video after you've lived with it a while, especially how easy it is to clean up, etc. Great video, as always.
Clean up is as easy as this: ua-cam.com/video/rgPj7O0BcEU/v-deo.html And there is a function in the setting menu to drain the water tank (and also descale occassionally). It's really simple!

Looks nice and all, and easy to use as well. But I already was apprehensive of basket style AF. My main concern with an appliance is maintenance. To clean it and if it breaks. I recently finally got an AF. Is a Grill and AF, it opens like a chest, very easy to clean. So far the AF, Grill and bake function has work great. It has elements on the bottom as well. Reminded me of the Dual Blaze. It claims you don't need to flip stuff. And although, technically you don't to cook the food. It's best to still move tings around. if it's gonna be a long time. Cause the bottom heats up and can slightly burn things that weren't moved or flip. Although this might be a me thing since I overcook stuff often.

Nothing taste like smoked ribs that have been smoking all day. I have a regular Cosori 5.8qt and I plan to make ribs in it, but I know one thing about Ribs and that's the fact slow cooking them is the way to go. So, I plan to cut the temp down and increase the time significantly.

Just received my chefmaker yesterday. Today I put in baby back ribs at 5:40pm it is now 9:40pm and they are still not ready, the chefmaker has been on 1 minute remaining for over an hour. I used my own probe thermometer and they are barely around 135 degrees.
Make sure you register your Chef Maker in case you run into a defect and need a replacement. I've heard that other folks that needed customer service were helped hassle free as long as they are registered. There should be QR code you can scan in the paperwork that came with your chefmaker. I've never done ribs in the chefmaker but I've done a zillion other things using the probe in probe mode and chef mode with no issues so that seems odd.
I bought this and it's definitely amazing but the Probe stopped working/registering after 2 weeks and it also doesn't push all the way and it pushed the basket out whenever the Probe is attached. So, i would appreciate it if someone can share a salutation since no one is talking about it
What I would like to see is the Cuisinart Indoor Pizza oven. I have been enticed to by it and stop paying big prices for delivery pizza. The oven is just not the same.
No, it does anything, including bread! (see initial review video)... it just does a stellar job with proteins since you can insert the probe and literally walk away. I have done it with baked potatoes, bread, and anything else that is large enough to insert the probe into. Plus it has all the standard air fryer functions.
You can’t cook for more than two-3 people, so then you have to resort to an oven or grill? I love my oven and I am okay with cooking. Sear the salmon on the stovetop and pop in oven for 14-16 minutes. (Same time as this appliance.) Delicious.
Again...here I am at the end of the video....our little baby boy... Omgosh...he's a little man, tasting ribs and being all...adultish....When, when, WHEN did that happen? I'm soooo old... This makes me sad. All of your kids are getting so old...and I've watched them from being so tiny... 😢
My point with this one is the difference it makes having the meat probe, and the step by step cooking built in AND the water atomization does a great job from keeping meats from drying out.
It doesnt need to be new and improved! Air Fryers do their job well, l dont really understand what all the who-ha is about this thing! Big Deal chef Mode? Come. Onnnn. Pffft! More Bull to get people to buy a more expensive unit with more pretty bells for nothing!
I have two Cosori Dual Blaze air fryers, and before those, a 5.8 Cosori Pro. No need for yet another “oven” or another learning curve. The Dual Blaze is so easy to clean since the basket doesn’t have holes, no preheating, no flipping. And no need - or room - for yet another “oven.” Between the Dual Blaze and my Instant Pot, I’m set. I don’t even like cooking, but the Dual Blazes make it almost fun!
@@empoweredcooks You really should have mentioned that. Reviews need to be comprehensive. For both the potential customer and the sponsor alike. I guess you forgot while you ducked out to have your hair done.
@elijahfluw4347 key word there, CHARCOALED. As in cooked over charcoal which emits chemicals when burnt. The color you see in this video is sugar carmalising and burning. While it does release acrylamide when sugars burn its not thought to increase risks of cancer in and of itself.

@elijahfluw4347 yes.
No, it does anything, including bread! (see initial review video)... it just does a stellar job with proteins since you can insert the probe and literally walk away. I have done it with baked potatoes, bread, and anything else that is large enough to insert the probe into. Plus it has all the standard air fryer functions.
use the smoker if the weather is sunny
You can’t cook for more than two-3 people, so then you have to resort to an oven or grill? I love my oven and I am okay with cooking. Sear the salmon on the stovetop and pop in oven for 14-16 minutes. (Same time as this appliance.) Delicious.
Skin up for the salmon, guess you already knew that ;)
Great oven but not available internationally. Avail in 2 countries. Great work showing a item most of us can’t buy.
I’ll stick to air fryer.
Not available in Europe / Germany. 😢
Every video I have seen of people cooking Salmon on this totally miss the step where the Salmon skin is supposed to face up.
the sugar in the sauce will get burnt
Put some apple juice in it for the ribs
Salmon charred
I made pork ribs in airfrier and were amazing. Maybe you made a mistake or something...
most underrated food youtube channel
Again...here I am at the end of the video....our little baby boy...
Omgosh...he's a little man, tasting ribs and being all...adultish....When, when, WHEN did that happen?
I'm soooo old...
This makes me sad.
All of your kids are getting so old...and I've watched them from being so tiny...
😢
Six hours for a rack of ribs😂…? I think the smoker wins getting it done in one try ! And what happened to the other 2 sections…..?
$350 air fryer. Nah. I’ll use my oven.
Nah, I'll use my dreo
No success with ribs in an air frier…!!! Where you been woman…. Get a Ninja 10 in 1… ribs, no friggin problem…👍🏻
NOOOOOOOOOOLOO!!! NONONONOOOO He was just a little boy 3 days ago!!!!! There is NO WAAAAYYYY he's this tall young man!!!! Nooooooo!!!!
It's steam cooking that salmon. Nope.
горелая рыба🤮
Everything is coming out burned up! You can't make this up. Lol
Pretty sure that looked like fish…not ribs…!!! Just another air frier with more gimmicks
Our airfryer cooks the meats in an awesome way.....why get another machine??
My point with this one is the difference it makes having the meat probe, and the step by step cooking built in AND the water atomization does a great job from keeping meats from drying out.
It doesnt need to be new and improved! Air Fryers do their job well, l dont really understand what all the who-ha is about this thing! Big Deal chef Mode? Come. Onnnn. Pffft! More Bull to get people to buy a more expensive unit with more pretty bells for nothing!
Always a party popper in the comments, if you don't wanna buy it then don't.
lol the way I read this in my head was too funny. Who-ha! 😂

I have one - and there is a difference. Worth every penny and I use it everyday. My air fryer sits on in the pantry mostly unused.
Not worth the money. Doesn’t really do any more than an air fryer and a bbq grill. How long to cook enough ribs for a family of 4-6? Too gimmicky
What I didn't show after the first rack of ribs is that I put the other two in at the same time (slightly stacked) with no issues!
@@empoweredcooks You really should have mentioned that. Reviews need to be comprehensive. For both the potential customer and the sponsor alike. I guess you forgot while you ducked out to have your hair done.
not good...the black stuff causes cancer on the barbecue....
It's carbon and yes! Correct you are!
@elijahfluw4347 key word there, CHARCOALED. As in cooked over charcoal which emits chemicals when burnt.
The color you see in this video is sugar carmalising and burning. While it does release acrylamide when sugars burn its not thought to increase risks of cancer in and of itself.
6:27 Aahhhh your recipe is a Carnivore's Nightmare! 😱😯😧😟😵💫😵 No thank you!
teenagers will eat all of that and more. Help.
Over an hour for ⅓ of ribs not practicle didn't look like there was much more room for the other ⅔
