- Hi all! This is my transcription of the Cadets 2023 Closer (an insane closer to top off an insane show)
This transcription, as well as all of my others, are my own transcriptions. I create these from watching headcams and full show recordings. I do not claim any of this music to be my own, but the transcriptions are.
If you want to see the full brass score of this closer (non-condensed), feel free to check out my Musescore - it'll be posted there!

Side note: Crown 2009 & 2008 are coming along - just lots of life stuff.

So sad
No words can describe how much both miss and don't miss this closer
😅 it seems absolutely insane to march, especially as a mello
@@alistair_tpt hard drill is fun but being on the end of almost every rotation was about the death of me lol. The mello circles were pretty insane too
As someone who marched this show, well done!
thank you!!
Couldn’t imagine an experience like that!
Is the reason there were only 8 trumpets on the double tonguing section because the rest couldn't play it to the same standard or is there some other reason?
@@phillip7494 I'd imagine that they felt it would sound better and cleaner as a small ensemble, it'd be super hard to clean if it was the whole section
@@phillip7494 Sorry for bringing this back 4 months later... but to answer your question: it was compositional. The "Immortal" trumpet reprise is just first trumpets by design. It sets up the rest of part five, with the majority of the brass sustaining long chords (except for the mello and 2nd/3rd trumpet rips, of course) If you want to hear the full brass section do the double tonguing from "Immortal" pull up the full show and check out the beginning of part two. Then give yourself a treat and go check out the Black Dyke Brass Band playing "Immortal." It is a wonderful piece of music.
Some of the best drill in a while and such a unique mello book. One of the best shows of 23
I'm still amazed about how fantastic this show was, despite some of the 'questionable' design choices. Gonna miss them this year.
Really love this comment!! Thank you for appreciating how well the performers were despite our design staff’s choices♥️
@@fommy.treeman I was able to bring my younger cousins who just started band the past year to their first drumcorps show this past summer and because you guys were seeded a bit earlier, you were the first hornline to really blow our faces off, seeing their reactions to that opening hit is gonna be a memory I hold for a long time.
hell yea!!
