There was always a TV license in the UK. So it's nothing new. I guess they are just sending like a reminder :)

Oh is it 🙈 Because for the last 5 years when we rented a flat we never watched live TV (like BBC, ITV, etc, we only watched from streaming platform like Netflix, Disney, Prime, Apple), hence we thought it's new 🙈 Or probably back then TV license has been included in monthly rent 🤔

​​@@NoviePoetri if you don't watch live broadcast TV, you don't need a TV licence! So if you're only watching Netflix, Amazon prime ect you don't need to pay for a licence. Call the number on the TV licence and tell them you don't watch live TV.
They should give you a refund..!
