I still use Apple routers... I have my Arris for the internet and ethernet to two apple routers. One with the hard drive which has been swapped to a 2T SSD drive. Each has similar names but one is for the smart home stuff, the other is for the computers, tablets and printers. The Arris is set for anyone who visits that is not family that needs internet.

Thank you for the video, that’s great advice.
One thing about the Onvis button. You’ll most of the time accuse it because it’s the apparent guilty, but what I’ve found out is that every time the button works perfect it’s either the HomePod or the lamps needing a reset ! I found this button pretty reliable and convenient indeed and just regret its odd style.

10:08 are you absolutely sure Bell doesn’t allow that? I configured that exact modem/router combo from Bell at a friends house and have her set up with a TP Link OneMesh system and she is able to get gigabit speeds and no issues with Kasa products in her smart home

6:53 I’m curious if you’ve tried the stage controller post-thread update. I just picked one up a few weeks ago to control my hunter smart fan and smart lights in my master bedroom without ever cutting power to them, and it took a bit to get Thread up and running but once it was, I’ve had a pretty flawless experience so far

Great advice Brad, I have a very similar situation like yours. I also have Bell Fibe. The only thing that seems to work for me so far is using a wifi extender and have the 5 and 2ghz separate. This way my wifi devices work well and don’t loose connection. Everything else uses the Bell router.

Hmm, use Plume pods and apple HomeKit devices and never had any issues.

You mention having trouble with the HS2, which I was just considering buying. Could you share a bit more on the issues you are referring to?

Hi, it doesn’t consistently work for me and I’ve had serious battery drain issues (like needing to replace the batteries every few weeks). It’s a nice idea, and I’m hopeful that with future firmware updates, this issue could be resolved.
