Is it easy to change a humbucker to a single coil in bridge position?
Yeah I've been looking for a wood screw for my ESP for years. The ESP company said "Just go to the hardware store and buy a wood screw" Doubt I'll ever buy another ESP guitar again. Especially a $1200 guitar from them after this. But when I emailed Schecter they asked for my address so I'm hoping those come in the mail soon. Don't know how I lost them all. I guess it was when I tried out about a dozen or so pickups trying to get these dang direct mount guitars to sound good. And boy was THAT a real pain in the rear!!

how deep do you route single coil and humbucker cavities ?
my humbucker is 22mm and the single coil is 16mm
i wanted to go for 16mm and 12mm ( i got a tall bridge, the fretboard is 10mm above the top).
But then i though, if i don't route the single coil deep enough, i'm gonna have trouble drilling from the neck pocket to the bridge pick up cavity
Can you drill the hole between the pickup pockets by starting it from the neck pocket?

that's the plan yep.
But there's no pick up pocket yet, i'm an overthinker stuck at the cavity depth lol, googling here and there.
I'm mostly hesitating because i had issues setting the pick up height while direct mounting a few months ago. i Retried earlier and it was np.. eh
Better have too much space than not enough i guess. What is your regular pick ups depth ?
@@philippeclipet8739 I make my ring mounted pickup pockets 22mm deep. For direct mounting, I measure the height of the pickup plus the distance from the top of the pickup to the bottom of the strings. Next I measure the distance from the bottom of the strings to the top of the body. The difference between the first measurement and the second is the depth of the pocket with a little extra depth where the wires will go.
Great tips. And yes, know the body depth before screwing in the pickups. Learned that one the hard way.

Yes. Or you could add a spacer between the screw's head and the pickup.
Those look like wood screws with their pointed ends and coarse threads.
Why do you not use pickup screws?
Because I am screwing them into wood.
What kind of latex tubing should i buy?

would it be ok to just put some sort of foam underneath the pickups instead of springs or tubing?
Yes, as long as it has memory. Like the soles of a flip-flop.
why don't you insert the screw from back of the body sir..
Because I need to be able to adjust the height of the pickups from the front of the guitar like normal.
@@HighlineGuitars can't we do the same and adjust the heights of the pickup if we put the screws from the back of the body ...
@@kosaponglusang4595 Think it through. How are you going to know where to drill the holes? If you try to drill from the front, I doubt you'll find the correct diameter bit that's long enough to go all the way through the body.
@@HighlineGuitars I actually tried on two guitars and it worked and I'm sure you will do a better job on that sir.. anyway I'm not commanding you to try that method sir but just sharing what I knw (I'm no expert to tell a professional luthier to do what to do and what not to do ) heheh .. the reason I had to do that because, I don't like using pickup rings.. 2- we don't get any kind of screw size perfect for a pickup ..and so that was the only solution I could come up with .... And to do that,I used standard humbucker screws for all the three HSS pickup and I used the drill bit slightly bigger than the screw but smaller than the screw head ..the main reason I did that was for the screw to move freely Incase I make slight mistakes in the alignment and it works perfectly ... @@kosaponglusang4595 I could do the backside mount if I had a longer bit and could mark and drill from the front. I could also drill from the back using my CNC machine, but if the neck moves during installation, even just 1/64" at the nut, the pickups, and the bridge will be out of alignment. Also, since I sell my guitars, I have to be considerate of what buyers will expect. With guitars, anything out of the ordinary or that breaks with traditions, won't sell.
HIGHLINE GUITARS, once you install the pickups, how or what do you use to measure the "magnetic Impulse" of the guitars pickup when picking the guitar string? Because the Magnetic Impulse will change on the pickup height and gauge of guitar string used. I Haven't seen make a video lesson about guitar pickup Magnetic Impulse
There's no video because there's no point in measuring "magnetic impulse" or whatever that is.
@@HighlineGuitars Seymour Duncan R/D take months with artist measuring the "magnetic Impulse" of the guitar pickup until the guitarist says thats the perfect magnetic impulse for each pole piece for each guitar string for the bridge pickup has a different magnetic impulse per each string compared to the middle pickup and bridge pickup. They all have different magnetic impulse for each pickup on a strat for each string and pole piece. What do you use to measure the Magnetic Impulse when plucking each guitar string to measure the magnetic impulse for each pickup on a fender strat?
@@waynegram8907 I use a magnetic impulse meter. The deluxe model with the analog to digital flux capacitor option.
