  • While the Helen Joseph Hospital has been trending for all the wrong reasons in the past week, it's acting CEO has debunked claims by a Chiawelo family that the hospital buried their matriarch as a pauper, without informing them. This follows the airing of the story where the family of the late Maphefo Priscilla Masilo sought assistance to exhume and rebury their loved one from the hospital and the provincial department.
Ofentse Setimo spoke to Dr Arthur Manning, the Acting CEO at Helen Joseph Hospital.

This is deeply disheartening news. As Africans, we must acknowledge that, in some respects, we continue to perpetuate the economic and governance systems that devalued Black lives during apartheid and colonialism.
