No it's too late. Obviously this is coming along time. Stolen taps etc being replaced over years, the criminals come back and steal the new stuff. At tygerberg hospitals toilet doors can't close, water taps stolen. If patients don't even have enough money to travel to and from hospitals , they get there thirsty then find taps broken, on the door stand "out of order"!!! Come on minister u supposed to be educated, a doctor come on!!!!!!!
Well done Leanne, I am yet to have a positive experience at a public hospital. Have billions not disappeared due to fraud the infrastructures wouldn't be as dire. Please show us how things are better now than in the past in the public Healthcare system. My mother died at a public facility where I personally witnessed nurses lounging around on their phones. Previously those nurses would have been disciplined. Now it's the norm
Even worse, nurses cannot tell you anything about your sick loved one, because it is only the doctor that should do that. And that doctor comes at specific times. 30 years ago the sister in charge of a ward could inform close relatives about the condition if their loved one. My sister- in- law died as we were hurrying to make it for the doctor's ward visit, having been in and out of the hospital not knowing what was wrong.
What did the health ombud do while covid funds were looted? If the public health system runs so well and these cases of poor performance are so rare. I would love to see the government not only talking the talk but walking the walk. Cancel medical aids for all government workers. This will be a massive saving for the state. Let them come join us in the public hospitals, maybe services will then improve if they know their bosses also there.

@livinganddyingabroad Should that be an excuse for someone who serves at such a high position? Should they now also go for training to receive some common sense? Like we are now told that doctors and nurses need to go for sensitivity training so they can learn how to treat people like actual humans instead of dirt? Same people who use private health care and know how they themselves want to be treated when they are sick? Even the minister admitting now these same nurses moonlights at a private hospital while serving people with a smile, but then when they come to their public job, they treat us like dirt. We should stop excusing their behavior. That is why the problem is as big as it is now. If you have a job you are paid to do, you should know how it works and do it to the best of your ability. Sorry, I can't even laugh at any joke on this topic because my mother was one of the people treated like dirt when she was told she had cancer and had to receive treatment from a couple of these hospitals.

Minister stop telling us about new hospitals or clinics that were built now, please address Helen Joseph issue.... Maintenance is the issue here and the Doctors that are treating patients BADLY😮
Currently I refuse any public hospital treatments simply due to the inhuman conditions with waiting line, medical supplies, and sanitary conditions. For any really ill person it is impossible to survive such conditions.
This is the reasons I support the Orania type of project because we are lead by fools here. Leave the private sector alone and fix your own problems. He said absolutely nothing and then threatens the news anchor and accused her of wanting to speak alone, disgraceful!
I've seen this with my own eyes. I saw someone dying in front of me. Waited 18 hours, in pain until she gave up, dead in the waiting area, here in Cape Town. It's bad. Our health care system in SA is terrible. Minister must stop protecting his department and start acting. People are dying
Fix the fact that you do not have a permanent manager at that hospital for years. For once take responsibility and not hide behind most of your other shortcomings. Have you ever gone to that hospital to experience it in person. Do not announce your visit but do a surprise visit. Then you want to force HNI on us.....are you from planet Zupta? We are sick and tired of your excuses!!!
We had to find ways to heal ourselves after soldiers and police set dogs on us. Don't apartheid bull..... , Ask us , you will learn not to apartheid issue back on this matter
Lea Anne 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. This is what journalism is about. Hold them accountable, but still they don’t give a s$@*. How are you as a minister proud to walk around with no job done? Looting and mishandling finances that doesn’t belong to you and does not work for people it belongs to. Motsweledi is a typical example of what idiots are running this country.
When was the last time he actually visited a hospital, especially incognito and without informing the facility. When he informs the hospital he is coming, they invariably attempt to spruce up the facility and show him the "cleaned/scrubbed" areas.
We had accident early past 7 am was attended after 4pm doctor just say you are fine go home doctors don't care. The following year I took my grand son we end up leaving without any help we were referred by Humburg clinic
Allegations, where do you live? Every public hospital in Mzanzi, it's a complete mess, though, I don't blame the docs for treating patients the way they do, though, they should have not sworn to do the job but yet, they put themselves on the same pack with the gov by allowing themselves to work under such humiliating conditions.
I'd rather die at home than go to the hospital. Hospitals should have secret cameras installed everywhere. Nurses and doctors must be held accountable for ill treating patients.
There are more problems but if we get answers like that we are not going anywhere ,no resources, pts freezing no blankets,no linen,4 nurses nursing 40 patients, a medical ward with only 4 oxygen points, no hot water, potholes in the wards, Minister Motsoaledi to visit a hospital called kalafong and interview staff not management for the truth
The ever evader, Dr Motsoaledi. He did it at Home Affairs & blamed foreigners Leon Schreiber showed him up- and now he's blaming the system. It's always someone else's fault!!
Our people are suffering, and they don't have any options.Staff are overwhelmed, staff shortages, old infrastructures, no resources. Posts are frozen. May our Minister visits public hospitals and see the suffering of patients and staff
The minister is talking rubbish since they’ve had 30 years to fix this problem. What have they done? Nothing absolutely nothing so minister get your act together and speak the truth. There is no praise for what you’ve done because you’ve done nothing
Old people need to retire to pave the way for younger leaders who has the energy to tackle growing problems. These old ones are too tired and too stuck in their ways
The arrogance of ministérs in govt, almost without exception, is appaling. Water flows downhill!!! Start the change from the top down. This is just a symptom of the entire ANC mindset. "Its our time to eat" They are a disgrace and those who voted for them are "guilty by association".
At this stage I am going to have agree with those calling for the Minister to answer questions asked. The is an allocation of funds whether 8 or 10 % but the type of delivery on the ground is poor and not satisfactory. Can we not look at the calibre of administrators in charge of these healthcare facilities because they are not doing their jobs
Yesterday, the unions and MMC telling us about "we serve with a smile" program started last year and how this staff must be trained about how to work with people. This is no real excuse, because these very same people use private care and know what they expect when they are sick, even the minister now admitting this very same people moonlighting in the private sector and being kind and nice to people there. But when coming to serve the poor people they are tired and treat is like dirt. They keep passing the problems to the next guy, and we shouldn't accept it from any of them.
This is why we say remove these old people from government just listen to this old man🤦♂️🤦♂️his not gonna admit failures his part of problem.Should be removed as a minister admitting would have been a step in the right direction.
They dont care fix the hospitals you dont use this hospitals go their and go and see he will not want to go to a toilet that have no seat Then work on the negatives fix it because its just getting worst then at the end of the day it cant be fix From 1994 going back everthing was working after that everything deteriorated and still do
If the public hospitals and clinics are providing the services the way he claims, why doesn't he consult there, has he ever been admitted to a public hospital? What is so difficult about running a hospital or clinic, making sure it functions well and disciplining employees who don't conduct themselves according to laws and policies?
For once the minister must go to all the public hospitals especially here In KwaZulu-Natal It is Very bad. the fact that you have to wait for doctors for more 3 hours it. Iwe need that to be looked at.
I was transferred from the clinic to the hospital and to another hospital brought by an ambulance as an emergency and I waited from 3pm until 3am and had to wait for other doctors the next day until 10am... I even asked if I could leave cause it seemed like I was never going to get attended.
Free State is worse than kzn ANC regime dismantled hospitals cos they were built by apartheid and everything else that apartheid built the ANC regime destroyed cos they represented white monopoly capital
Heres a great idea; I think that all MPs and ministers including the president should have to use government hospials for themselves and all of their family. They should not be allowed to use private hospitals. That would definitely encourage them to improve things. Government hospitals, like anything else the ANC has touched, are really bad.
It's this narrative that we've listen to for years. Thembisa Hospital. Babita Deokaran. Or did we just imagine that as well? I would hang my head in shame, and refuse any interview because of embarrassment.

Currently I refuse any public hospital treatments simply due to the inhuman conditions with waiting line, medical supplies, and sanitary conditions. For any really ill person it is impossible to survive such conditions.
This minister is in competent and should be on pension
Talking head - that's his claim to fame.
I agree
This is the reasons I support the Orania type of project because we are lead by fools here. Leave the private sector alone and fix your own problems. He said absolutely nothing and then threatens the news anchor and accused her of wanting to speak alone, disgraceful!
He's a complete clown - this interview only gives us the PROOF.🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Indeed ...poor attitude himself
Where does he go for treatment? All these guys should be sent to public health care !
I've seen this with my own eyes. I saw someone dying in front of me. Waited 18 hours, in pain until she gave up, dead in the waiting area, here in Cape Town. It's bad. Our health care system in SA is terrible. Minister must stop protecting his department and start acting. People are dying
This one is just arrogant, another MK Party candidate
Fix the fact that you do not have a permanent manager at that hospital for years. For once take responsibility and not hide behind most of your other shortcomings. Have you ever gone to that hospital to experience it in person. Do not announce your visit but do a surprise visit. Then you want to force HNI on us.....are you from planet Zupta? We are sick and tired of your excuses!!!
Incompetence and corruption. The curse of South Africa..
Corruption in the true sense then you hear them blah! blah! nonsense!!
We had to find ways to heal ourselves after soldiers and police set dogs on us. Don't apartheid bull..... , Ask us , you will learn not to apartheid issue back on this matter
Had all of my children at government hospital Pre 94. They were fine
How many people who die in the corridors and waiting rooms etc who we NEVER hear about.
It is unacceptable how detached he is from what is going on in hospitals. Dora and Livingstone in GQ is EXACTLY the same.
As long as we trusting this kind of person, we going nowhere in this country with health facilities 😒😒
Problem is that motswaledi know how tp talk but not take actions .as a minister he must take actipns with immediate effect.
We are all doomed!
This minister is useless. Send him to jail. He is a thief.
Ask all the old nurses what they think.we saw the change, very sad
I'd rather die at home than go to the hospital. Hospitals should have secret cameras installed everywhere. Nurses and doctors must be held accountable for ill treating patients.
It's PATHETIC It's unhygienic and no assistance IT'S BAD
There are more problems but if we get answers like that we are not going anywhere ,no resources, pts freezing no blankets,no linen,4 nurses nursing 40 patients, a medical ward with only 4 oxygen points, no hot water, potholes in the wards, Minister Motsoaledi to visit a hospital called kalafong and interview staff not management for the truth
No it foreigners using it
Public hospital's are like a WAR ZONE.
It will be blamed on apartheid.
Yes apartheid did play a huge part .
@@thobekiledlamini How?
Nangoku futhi
The ever evader, Dr Motsoaledi. He did it at Home Affairs & blamed foreigners Leon Schreiber showed him up- and now he's blaming the system. It's always someone else's fault!!
Arrogant as usual ,lesson not learned yet. Keep at it,ANC is failing sa
ANC is not in charge anymore !!!
DomDoos !!!
What's the point of having new hospitals without proper care, fix the old hospital and forget about NHI
"Its our time to eat"
They are a disgrace and those who voted for them are "guilty by association".
No accountability is our downfall.
This is why we say remove these old people from government just listen to this old man🤦♂️🤦♂️his not gonna admit failures his part of problem.Should be removed as a minister admitting would have been a step in the right direction.
They dont care fix the hospitals you dont use this hospitals go their and go and see he will not want to go to a toilet that have no seat Then work on the negatives fix it because its just getting worst then at the end of the day it cant be fix
From 1994 going back everthing was working after that everything deteriorated and still do
If the public hospitals and clinics are providing the services the way he claims, why doesn't he consult there, has he ever been admitted to a public hospital? What is so difficult about running a hospital or clinic, making sure it functions well and disciplining employees who don't conduct themselves according to laws and policies?
For once the minister must go to all the public hospitals especially here In KwaZulu-Natal It is Very bad. the fact that you have to wait for doctors for more 3 hours it. Iwe need that to be looked at.
If you could see Eastern Cape, Umtata how things are...
Poor staff attitudes due to staff members not being appreciated and paid well by the department.
😂😂😂😂next joke they get paid for nothing
@@Kelly-d9l4t Exactly what a domkop would say
Heres a great idea; I think that all MPs and ministers including the president should have to use government hospials for themselves and all of their family. They should not be allowed to use private hospitals. That would definitely encourage them to improve things. Government hospitals, like anything else the ANC has touched, are really bad.
I agree but they go to russia for treatment
What a clown behaviour by a minister
But Aaron is so disappointing in this interview 😢
This minister must be a patient in one of the government hospitals instead of just talking nonsense
He always had an answer to everything no matter which portfolio he has. Pathetic.
Leaann🎉.. I salute you are brilliant and courageous..s❤..only doing your incredible work 😊 have a blessed 💕🙏 day 🌹 now and always 🙏💪❤️
Things run hy them ANC falls apart previous government run this hospitals with descent nurses were trained in numbers.
It's this narrative that we've listen to for years. Thembisa Hospital. Babita Deokaran. Or did we just imagine that as well? I would hang my head in shame, and refuse any interview because of embarrassment.
he should focus on important human issues man
A lot of empty promises, no action. We need a strong woman leading the health industry, who seriously cares about the wellbeing of the people!!
Preferably a Matron who tolerates no nonsense and has come through the ranks.
