Good video. Some thing else I've always carried is Orajel with 20% Benzocaine. I've put that on everything from bee stings, to broken blisters, and it really helps take the pain away. Keep up the great work.

Homemade mix: baking soda + baby powder (1 to 1) disinfectant, keeps the feet dry and not smelly

    Great info!
From personal experience, you can get away with the moisture and hot spot issues caused by GoreTex by using quality wicking socks and change them more often. I own maybe three pairs of socks that are not Merino wool, available in both thick for winter and thin for warmer weather. At the end of the day, fit is more important than material but leather will almost always work better. That's what has worked for me, do whatever works for you.

This video is great. Cuts right to the chase and gives you several no compromises/do it right the first time solutions.

I am diabetic so I have to be exceptionally careful with my feet. I get blisters easily but then I am on disability and have mobility issues so when I do go out I am usually out for the full day walking. I check them every day.

How about a video on what you are putting at leukotape on and pre cutting it so we don't have to carry the whole roll and peels off like a Band-Aid. Thank you keep up the good work.

Another trick with the gold bond is to dust the inside of your socks especially your extra pairs in your pack that way when you change socks you have fresh powder.

As a former "Light" Infantryman, taking care of your feet is of utmost importance.

@John Stocker, we called it "Trench foot", due to soldiers in trenches getting that.

I just cut my feet off in the end.
My relatives now just push me in a wheelchair to the top of the UK's highest mountains and ranges.
    Much easier.
I repay them with reels of Lueko tape.

Great video , just my speed thank you. May I ask I’m going on a thru hike , and my first, how long can I leave it on before either removing completely or re dressing .... I have not had a blister yet but four distinct hot spots, I’m trying a liner inside my wool socks and curious will it eventually just tough n up?

the leuko tape adhesive glue residue is troublesome to clean off the skin...it is so sticky. Used leuko tape and strappal tape both have the sticky adhesive residue

You just gotta love how ITS will make the video but ignore questions and comments.
And yet they will proclaim to sell you what they call a tactical sewing kit on their website for $10 that will fit in your pocket but places like Dollar tree and dollar general, family dollar and even Walmart have been selling the non tactical variety for $1 and gee it will also fit in your shirt pocket and has it own carry case on some of them.
Or here is a tactical solution buy a spool of black thread and a few needles and put it in a ziplock bag take the air out of it and roll it down and put it in your shirt pocket or even in an Altoids tin gee ITS must think people are fools and suckers who are pretty much ready to throw their money at them.
They must think their collective customers are like Phillip J Fry from futurerama saying shut up and take my money.

Don't buy commercial gortex. Buy real military-grade equipment. I've never had blisters with gortex, I've had plenty with leather-lined boots. Leather slides and moves too much. But matching better socks to the boots would help.

if you aren’t in a time crunch, just carry the roll and little scissors to cut as necessary. not as lightweight, convenient, or quick as precut, but it sticks slightly better and there is no waste. plus you have some extra, for your shit bag homies. just carry a roll, and pad up prophylactically based on where you know you get hotspots

If you're getting hot spots, then you have the wrong boots. I've found that Danner Sierra's work best for me on extremely long term hikes

I actually prefer moleskin. It is thicker and has a backing so you can cut out different sizes and not worry about what to stick them to. And it sticks just as well.
