I haven't been able to complete a lap in Nurburgring without crashing and I love it. If feels more dynamic and possibly closer to how real life cars behave.
GT7 did need this update I feel, it's a more engaging drive now,more concentration and discipline is required that I actually like! I have been struggling though,have got as much information as I can from various content creators and I've watched yours a few times and have listened carefully to your advice,you make sense so I will adjust my driving style and see what happens,I love GT7 so I will get my head around these new physics,how long it will take me I don't know but will have fun adapting, fantastically informative, BIG THANK YOU 👍👍👍
Very informative, I tried badhurst yesterday with the m6 sprint model it was horrible, I will try and apply all this information during my practice, although its a full hand of information to get it all in one go but it will get better with time. Thank s.
Have you seen Tidgney’s TCS video? Apparently PD has made it much more useful, maybe even necessary for drivers like me who struggle with oversteer since the update.

Not me. I PLAY the GAME to have FUN. Anybody remember fun? I'm not here to practice for the next Formula 1 race. I want to have fun in cars I recognize that can be raced competitively by 1 person. I don't want a crew chief or team engineer and I've no desire to be either. I just wanna race in a car that doesn't spin every time I lift the throttle. I may still play the game but it is MUCH less enjoyable for me and more importantly for PD, I PLAY A LOT LESS NOW. Thanks for providing a forum for my rant.
It's EASIER on controller now. The challenge is gone. There was this mission I could not do when after 100 tries. After this update, I finished it easily, twice. Soo much easier
@@dannnsss8034 it's much more personal than that from what I've seen - when I look at the daily race leader boards I have changed position in relation to other friends - some are bossing it and really enjoying the new physics, others have slipped back becauseit doesn't suit some of the old techniques. Personally I seem to have gained a little, but not much.

After watching video, on first try, I became a few tenths of a second faster per minute. Thy. As ex race car driver, I was really, really confused about how the fastest drivers are breaking full and turning.. (On previous physics) I thought to myself, wow, this modern race car electronics completely changed the driving style. Because 20+ years ago there was no way one would break hard and turn. This new physics is much more realistic, also regarding tire wear.
On GT7 I have always been at a disadvantage compared to other racers online in these moments. I've always known I am overly cautious of an unstable chassis. Braking coming off the mountain at Bathurst being a prime example - I just couldn't allow myself to believe that such aggressive braking was possible, as I watched racers close in on my rear. I'm really looking forward to the car's behaviour more closely echoing my instincts in these moments, once I return from my holiday and get back into the driving seat. I think it will make me a faster driver now, in comparison to many others who have historically taken more of an "arcade" approach to aggressive braking. Bring it on.
Just coming back to this, to confirm my hypothesis: I am a more successful driver now, under the new physics. Notably so and my DR is climbing accordingly. :) I am also a happier driver - the added depth is an absolute joy to explore. A fantastic update. All hail the new physics!! 🙌
Thanks for the explanatory video, I feel like the gt3 are high strung race cars now, ones that you need to balance on track. But also a bit let down by the grey area of tyre temps in the game now since they feel more important. A race with bad temps on the new Nordwand track can absolutely ruin one of the fronts real fast. What are your thoughts? Perhaps seeing your tyres in non operational temps will limit the feeling of needing to push all the time?
I now have a hard time in group 3 races due to the usual getting spun out by other AI cars, or now, spinning out when accelerating out of corners or even occasionaly braking - which feels less predictable and once or twice a race does something unexpected.
The long straight on the nurbergring i feel like im hanging on for dear life... the force feedback is crazy strong... I need to turn it way down... Then it's either not enough or to much with just one click... And my when base is now starting to get extremely hot since the update
I just got a ps5 and gt7 a few days ago so I feel like I might be at a bit of a disadvantage going through all the singleplayer stuff compared to pre-update.
I tried counter steering assistance both on strong and weak. Made no difference at all. Didn’t catch the rear end. Span coming out of a corner. Hard to judge how much throttle to use compared to GT sport. Even with changing up I still loose the back end. I must be still slightly too much on the throttle.
Loved the video Digit! You forgot a big topic though... practice! practice! practice! Even skilled drivers are struggling after the update... Some advice from Sarah: Good work! Take a deep breath and try again!
Pit. Run harder compound. Don't use 70% of your tires in 1st couple laps... those are the obvious tips. Pushing brake bias to the rear is entering the world of not so obvious helpful hints.
@@bbadstdad4423 thanks for the tips! I remembered I got knocked onto a grass and the tires never went back to previous grip. Not sure if anyone measured or know what the distance travelled to remove debris is after the patch
@juraj_b not I. I had sometimes wondered if that was a factor and just today it was confirmed for me that grass, dirt, etc. was a factor. You ask a great question: to what extent? I wonder if those effects would be testable?
As the terrible racer I am, I found the feedback a little strange. As you said much lighter, but almost as if there was treacle in the steering. However my G29 has been on maximum forced-feedback level for a long time. Perhaps I'm losing the detail by having a wheel that cannot apply enough force 🤷🏻♂️. Whichever way, PP isn't doing a very good job here. 😢
I have the same issue on G29, there's no ffb at all, notthing from track and nothing from turning. It's just too light. And there's so much understeer I just can't figure out how to get over it, it's not like this on the 'supposed to be' real sims (acc and LMU), so I really can't understand what's going on.
How i do adapt not working settups, the suspension things, differencial and brakes are not working. Before 1,49, during and after 1,50. And more i play more funny things i find. 😂 I had to make a list of it, to much features 😂 Actually i drove ford sieara 500 cosworth, i used stock suspension, workes better then the full adjustable, but not over 200kmh 😅 then someone grab your steeringwheel 😂 break out by driving stright, no up and down or down and up 😅 I used the street suspension ater, same problem... I was 5 hours sitting on an 230kw sileighty, no chance to make them driveable without one spin out per round on nordschleife, its my hometrack and testdrivetrack 😊 From 100 cars i tested only 2 cars are driveable after little changing what i can change, spoiler 😅 Testarossa (no front spoiler) and diablo, 2 middle engine reardrive cars 😆 After driving against my garage i saw a lot of cars 😂 npc cant handle it, im happy, so i have 50 50 what car i use and not 1 of over 100 😅 So why settup doesnt worke? Why the cars from start on so crapy i wouldnt never drive them in reallife? Why the real cars drive much better as in this real driving sim game? 😅 Oh ok not for you and others... your game worke fine... GT sport was the same, doing some setting, something changed? Nope... As real happy gt driver from gt 1 on im so frustraded... Repairsoftware ? New download installation? Oh, it workes from server... No real console game anymore too, no internet, no game... Bad times today...
I just got into iracing an I've only been racing the miata so I can't speak for the other cars or classes but I think it's still a lot different. This update did make braking a little more like iracing but not enough to really even compare them. I love them both now but for different reasons. I just wish iracing had all the features gt7 has with out having to download 3rd party apps
@@scottybevan4108 thanks for the update. If I was to try GT7 it would have to be on controller. Everything I built is PC specific. The additional apps are a bit annoying, but then there is so much more you can do with those add ons and you can make them so specific. Crew chief and Racelabs are cool. I don’t remember having a spotter or all the stuff you can get on Racelabs, the ability to add haptics to telemetry, triple screens, custom FOV in GT7?
As long as they have the current unrealistic TCS for race cars such as the GT3s, I'll be sticking to ACC for that type of racing. Having to turn off the TCS and/or having to shift up mid-corner to not spin the back end in GT3 cars is ridiculous.
I find it difficult to believe the majority use controller. But then, I find it difficult to believe ANYBODY uses a controller on gt7. May as well have sex by proxy 😂

Some people are casual gamers that like realistic racing games but dont nerd out over them and buy all this extra equipment to be able to play that damn thing. A lot of pretentious assholes in this game series community just like you though, makes me wish we had Forza on Playstation.

I am really enjoying the new physics. With Fanatec DD+ the ffb detail is much better now, and the cars have more personality than ever. There is some fine tuning needed but Polyphony are on the right track, could not be happier with the new update, and Eiger Nordwand is such a pretty track!
for caseul plaeyers gt7 is dead it is a pain to drive it is fealing more like Fh8 and that sucks weathweather driving is a pain, just gonna go for pc just as the PSVR2 pc adapter comes out so i can use it on assetto corsa

@jsanders299 yeah I have the same issue with some setups. Digit published an updated setup which actually made it worse. Idk your config, but I found out it's because their setup have low Torque in game (5 in Digits case) and mid FFB in the wheel (82 for Digit). I was using 10 ingame and 100 in wheel, cause I like the wheel heavy. If I lower it to 5/82 it fixes the oscillation, so try that as well. I'm currently trying to find the mid term between heaviness and oscillation
Hi, would bouncing off the rev limiter on downshifts potentially unsettled the car also? I'm watching on my phone and the screen is a bit small but it looks like the downshifts might be high on the revs?

Nothing wrong with the games new physics, but they really messed up the FFB on the Logitech Pro wheel. Why on earth or kerbs, collisions and slip/grip so peaky in FFB. You could be averaging 5nm but touch a kerb wrong and boom 11nm wheel yanker!!
That happened to me too when I was doing the Circuit Experience 1 Lap Attack after the update. Most of the time, I lost the backend going down the hill. And for the very few times I was able to keep the car from spinning out, I was not fast enough to reach the gold time. I had to increase the TC to 2 and turned on the ASM, then, I was able to clear the gold standard after 3 more attempts. Not sure if this update is a good or bad thing.

Clearly you just drive GT3 cars with BoP settings and clearly have no idea about how every other car (road cars and suchlike), in the game are unstable under braking by weaving about. You then find yourself busy tuning it out and doing nothing else. Any change can make it go back to being unstable. It's ridiculous. It can take ages to find out how to tune it out...sometimes it's impossible to do so. This is not good physics. Also, turning off counter steering, cars cannot get round Eiger Nordwand because of the dips and elevation that seriously unsettle the car crashing into the walls. Not good physics.
Digit, i like. Great vids with solid info. GT7 post-1.49, not so much. GT7 went from daily sessions of 4-plus hours to checking in, struggling thru weekly challenges, getting frustrated, and moving on with the day once or twice a week. PD, you're losing me...

No matter much I practice I won't Match A+ Guys times especially when I can only play 2 day a week
I didn't know that counter steering assist works with wheel? Is not better to put that off for more realistic driving ?

DD pro just randomly losing control of my car without any loss of traction prior to. Anyone else?

I disagree.. Gt7 simulates car driving and racing . The emphasis is now more on the tyres and managing them properly. Thats makes it a Sim

Fanatec? Some old settings have really high oscilations now and need to be updated

Exluding the fannatec drama. Is the mclaren v2 wheel with qr2 worth fr?
I think Tigney did a test in GTS days and found gear shifts also had detrimental impact on tyre wear, not sure if you tested this in GT7?

I use a pad in chase View and I like it. Feels like u gotta take corners a bit slower haha, just gotta get used to it

Nothing wrong with the games new physics, but they really messed up the FFB on the Logitech Pro wheel. Why on earth or kerbs, collisions and slip/grip so peaky in FFB. You could be averaging 5nm but touch a kerb wrong and boom 11nm wheel yanker!!

First time I drove panorama after update I lost the backend going down the hill. Ive noticed the brake bias also!
That happened to me too when I was doing the Circuit Experience 1 Lap Attack after the update. Most of the time, I lost the backend going down the hill. And for the very few times I was able to keep the car from spinning out, I was not fast enough to reach the gold time. I had to increase the TC to 2 and turned on the ASM, then, I was able to clear the gold standard after 3 more attempts. Not sure if this update is a good or bad thing.
@@ToysNGamesFan it took me 2 days to retune my ZL1 Camaro to where I could drive it again without the going over imaginary bumbs or a little dip and the back run out like someone hit you in the rear quarter panel

Clearly you just drive GT3 cars with BoP settings and clearly have no idea about how every other car (road cars and suchlike), in the game are unstable under braking by weaving about.
You then find yourself busy tuning it out and doing nothing else. Any change can make it go back to being unstable. It's ridiculous.
It can take ages to find out how to tune it out...sometimes it's impossible to do so. This is not good physics.
Also, turning off counter steering, cars cannot get round Eiger Nordwand because of the dips and elevation that seriously unsettle the car crashing into the walls. Not good physics.

Digit, i like. Great vids with solid info. GT7 post-1.49, not so much. GT7 went from daily sessions of 4-plus hours to checking in, struggling thru weekly challenges, getting frustrated, and moving on with the day once or twice a week. PD, you're losing me...
Eventually they will change all this and we'll start all over. Ready to move on to another racing game.
