I just have to say I really like your videos. You're not loud and obnoxious like some of the other youtubers I've seen. I find I can retain more information from you're videos than I can from all the others. Keep up the good work.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU squidoode, bro I've been thinking day in day out on ways that i don't have to waste wire with this build. You're a savior man
That seems ingenious brethren, I can't wait to try it now!!! I have a real issue with waste, if I could figure out how to unwind a double-wound Clapton while preserving it to salvage the spare winding for Aliens or something I'd be all about it. I tend to Clapton with my thumbnail right up to the core wire, I'll have to see if I can adapt this technique to my style. I wrap at pretty high speed and without looking this way, just going by feel. I use that same drill actually, and one tip I'd offer for it is that I prop the back end up to bring the chuck back down to level. I also clamp my wire spool on a dowel that's just a touch snug so it has just a little resistance as it spins. Keep up the good work, as always!!!
Production quality is top of the charts bro. I think, in vape channels, you have the best video quality! Solid work. I hope to see more of your videos.
I check your channel everyday to see if you posted any new content and, like everyone else, I'm glad to see you return. Looking forward to seeing more advanced and intricate builds. Keep it up man!
Great video! I'm a fan of Clapton coils and will definitely give this a try! Thanks for the "swivel" tip, it works great! I own a few different types of mod, rda's and rta's. It would be great to have a tutorial on the basics of how to work out the best coil to suit a particular setup. I seem to have a lot of fails, where the coils spit and pop too much and/or take too long to heat up!
Great work. Thank you very much for putting this video together. Your instructions are the best. They have helped me get started in the build world and I totally love it... so far. Please don't stop making videos. Vape Time!!
Thanks a million for both the basic builds and the more advanced ones. Others who are new to this rely on experienced builders like you to teach. Some of have recently quit using pure nickel because of the health risks prevalent when over heating Nickel and have no reason to want to fight a third bout of cancer at my age. Thus, I am experimenting with fine gauge Copper, Brass and Bronze all of which I can easily excess.. I believe they will give me more clouds wifjh lkess heatr but will probably screw up the tast.. Again many thanks from Australia.. Cheers
Not sure if it was requested yet, but even though I currently rest on Fused Claptons as my go to build I have some issues with the finer gauged wire. Maybe just a short tips and tricks video on ways to clapton with 36 gauged and higher? Thanks so much for the videos you make, they have brought my building to a whole new level. Much appreciated!
The only thing that matters bro is your back and I that we are all happy to have you back making helpful uploads once again. I am really big into parellel builds to me the flavor and vapor production is top notch you get the best of both worlds. Maybe some new techniques and interesting builds not only 2 wires there's more n more 24mm rda's now builds can be pretty creative these days. Thanks for this upload and welcome back once again my friend.
I haven't read through all of the comments, so my apologies if this has already been suggested. I would love to see a wick oriented video, going over the differences between things like vapors gold cotton, anarchist organic cotton, and regular organic cotton pads you can buy in bulk. Also different wicking techniques for different builds, i.e. what builds need a tighter wicking, what builds can benefit from looser wicking, ect.

+William Brown Absolutely great suggestion. I have been wanting to make a video on this exact topic for a very long time now! Hopefully I'll get to shoot one soon.
Hey squidoode. since you're trying to put up some basic build tutorials, I would love to see a 3-4 strand parallel build or possibly a beginner staged heating build. I'm currently practicing building coils and if you could make a tutorial of something along those lines, it would be very helpful for me and many other beginner builders!
+Dom Davoli Thanks for the suggestion. Has been awhile since I've done anything "basic" but I look forward to revisiting all the builds I did when I first started!
+The Art of Vaping I watch every video you upload and the build tutorials are my favorite. I'd love to see some tips and tricks to wrapping and installing very thick coils in 3 posts decks.
+The Art of Vaping As with those who have been in it for some time trying to do 'new vaper' type reviews, it'll be super important (tho difficult) to just act & show things, as if.... you know nothing about the subject. From the terminology to just doing everything slowly; pointing out each/every step along the way. (be it drill insertion, speed/tension.. trying not to gloss over basics) Being as detailed as possible, esp for those who don't build coils on the regular. will be important. It'll prob. save ya a shit ton of time too, since you won't have as many questions to answer after the video.... that prob could've been answered, in it. =p As a long time vaper, appreciate all the time/effort you put into this! All those complaining about the price of pre-built coils, or saying people are just lazy not to make 'em themselves OR... that one can go buy some intricate builds on e-bay for.... what was it... $1?! (c'mon now... get the fu#$ outta here... should be more like, who'd be dumb enough to vape that??) Even if one has the ability, the time. the materials, the knowledge........ They should prob. keep in mind that maybe it's that some cannot physically make coils. Whether they could & now can't... or never could... Whether their vision, dexterity, or something else.. keeps them from being able to build coils themselves.. wouldn't these be ideal? If they have enough strength or sight, however, to still be able to mount coils, esp on something like the TM atty or those w/ slottted posts now-a-days, rather than tiny holes.. These coils would be right up their alley. Quite sure they'd be more than willing to pay $30 for the opportunity to still be able to vape in the style they are used to; without being forced to just use a sub ohm tank w/ stock pre made coils. (that, once ya go through them won't last nearly as long & end up costing just as much in the end!) That said, as someone who isn't a 'senior'.... who doesn't have bad vision.... who is a long time, experienced vaper.... BUT. who IS someone w/ a back issue that's now causing a lot of numbness in my hands most of the time.. & who prob couldn't build/wind a basic coil these days, even if I wanted to... You just ignore all those haters, follow your gut.... & keep on doin' what you do, however YOU choose to do it! Trust.. that there's a reason for ALL of it........... :) Live long(ER) & vape on! Amanda/IL
One thing I've been really trying to figure out is building in really small atties, specifically an MCV Atomic. I usually build claptons and fused builds, but nothing fits in smaller atties. Would also likely be helpful for those who build in RBA and RTA decks a lot. Good to see you back on UA-cam man, was wondering what happened.
Hey, Squidoode, if you're looking for basics topics to cover, I'd love to see videos about resistance estimating. Maybe a tips and tricks video about how to get a feel for what the resistance of build will come out to based on gauge, wraps and diameter, and what sort of basic safety stuff you think about when you're trying out a new coil for the first time.
Hi Doode. I've been wondering when you'll be back. Happy that you are recording again, this channel is like my vaping Bible. I love your work and please keep it up. Really good trick with the spacing, when I find free time, I'm sure I'll try to it out. I love your coil builds. And whatever vid you'll make I'm gonna watch. Cheers!
Love it bro, your videos are always helpful. Im always struggling with ribbon wire, whether its .5 or .8, from lightningvapes or kidneypuncher. Damn stuff kicks my ass, even using swivels. I think your slightly older intro was just pure perfection. Thanks for the tutorials man, I know you've got a busy life and I appreciate you taking the time to make these.
I know you have went over certain stacking methods but, I would love to see how attach stacked wire using a swivel for sandwiched builds. I struggle with this all the time trying to keep proper equal tension on all with wires. Also, thanks for the talk at Vapemania. Really nice doode
I would like to see an indented fused Clapton or indented staggered fused Clapton tutorial. I just can't seem to figure that one out! Thanks for all great info and tutorials squidoode! You the man!
Very nice tip there. I use the same idea but I like to hold the core wire and I just tape the wire to my thumb that is looped around the core wire. Same concept but don't like to use the swivels when just doing a single core Clapton.
Great video! This is gonna help a lot :) I'd love to see a wicking technique short video and for a build I need to learn the proper way of making a tsuka coil!!
I think a video covering characteristics of different coils would be really interesting. It is hard to know what you like when there are so many different types of coils to try, and also what type of coils go well on certain mods/atomizers.
I would love to see a video explanation of the difference between using kanthal and nichrome 80 both as the core of a clapton and as the wrap wire, and what different effects it has on the ramp up of the coil, potentially even with a demonstration. It would be educational for a lot of people, myself included.
sounds like we just heard you're new year's resolution bro. Didn't seem a few months.. but we did miss ya. technique I keep hearing from people and I've tried to help with is just simple wrapping the plain fused Clapton. how to just let it feed and such. for myself it wraps better just going full blast..
Hey, you've probably thought about it already but what I always do is attach a weight to the loop freeing my other fingers to do other fingery things. Thought I might add my input as to how I do it. Learning as I go.
I always see you check the deck to see if the wraps will fit, but what's you thought process? What are you looking for? I figure all decks are a little different in well depth, deck height, hole diameter, rings spinning on the inside or out for airflow, etc. Just wanna know your process for that, AND pre-cutting for dual coil builds. Pre-cutting seems really risky to me.
Keep up the awesome work Doode, love all the videos. Your videos got me into building. I can make staple and alien wire and coils, I've been working on staggered claptons and whatnot now and have been running into some issues using both the technique you covered in this video and the traditional method. My core wire breaks off at the chuck of the drill multiple times while making the staggered clapton and it's very frustrating, any tips or ideas about why or how to fix it. Thanks
I personally, would like to see some more advanced micro coil builds for rdta's / rta's, like the aromamizer or bellus. Keep up the good work though, you rock!
ALL you need is a key ring ,,move along the three wires as you clapton it ,,it should be perfectly straight, make sure you use swivels,if you must ,steal some nylon jaw pliers ,you can take em from michaels craft stores
I would like to see a corrugated staggered build where you could see the corrugated ribbon wire through the staggered wrap. Getting the corrugation to stay lined up is very difficult but it looks beautiful and vapes amazingly well.
I use coil master scissors as a weight for my spacing. I run 32g through the scissors and then butt up next to my feeding wire like you do with your loop. The scissors have enough weight to not jump around and are still able to follow along with the Clapton leaving flawless spaced clapton
nice to see you again :) i like your detailed and relaxed Videos i would like to see a comparation about some advanced coils to find out which of them can hold the most juice :)) (without cotton of course) also we could see on which coil the liquid is running the fastest from one to the other end of the coil... against gravity! (travelling upwards) it would be easier for beginners to choose and practice one coil build for his own properties and favours thank you! fresh
I want to see a video detailing all your favorite tools, and possibly some DIY solutions to your workstation. I really would like to have a solution to the drill situation. Some sort of lathe with a foot pedal switch would help me out a lot, as I have large hands, and frequently wish I didn't have to use one of them just to pull the trigger of a drill.
maybe talk about what types of builds and wire gauges you think a new builder should start with and master? maybe talk about how to maximize vapor production and flavor out of beginer building. I've been struggling and making mistakes by using way too big Guage wire in way to small setups i.e. 24ga in a goblin on a 40watt reg mod tryin to get a .5ohm build (hint its way too many wraps and takes waaaaay too much power).... so maybe go over why its important to use smaller guage wire when appropriate and how effective small wire can be
I would love to see a video on drip shots, glow shots and the like. I know the man twisted messes did one but there's different lenses and lighting people use I would love to see what you got man!
I'd be cool to see the benefits of sed build versus another. Like the difference of vapor and flavor of a stitched alien vs an alien coil and how wicking abilities vary between them. I think that could help out a lot of newer builders. I know I've done a lot of coils that were not was I was looking for or expected and wasted time and supplies because all that was presented was a detailed tutorial with not much information on the coil itself and how it performs.
hey squidood I kind of figured out a really easy way to make a stagared Clapton just start your 36 gauge out about an inch or so from the chuck and then spin drill real slow wile holding the 36 gauge in left hand and get the staggered size gap that you want to have on the whole wire then pinch the wire with your thumb and pointer finger and just hold it while running the drill and it will stager its self all the way and have the same spacing all the way to the end of your core wire!!! and of you hold on to the end then the 36 gauge will break off right at the end perfect every time!!!!
love this technique nice work doode,r4yb4d how about one on polished coils and the importance of proper cleaning, and how to do so. just thought it would make for a good tutorial. thanks for all the vids 👍👍💪💪😤😤
Another excellent video just like all your others. Thank you! I'm going to guess that there's probably another comment here that suggest this, but I bet you could do the same technique with a weight of some sort so you're not holding the other end of the loop.
ive heard about a twisted clapton and id like to see a tutorial on that also. different wicking techniques on advanced builds. also maybe some 316l builds since it seems to be whats next in vaping as its good to use in regular powe mode and tc mode. i see their is also a ton of 316l wire gauges now from 22 gauge to 36 gauge. seems like a wire to make some claptons with. also maybe some different staple coil builds. or how to do a dragon nano coil ive seen huge clouds from that one. anyway thanks
Hey bub it's Ziggy from puffin vapes in Milford, met u at robins event a month or two ago, I guess to throw you a few ideas, maybe sleeper builds, parallel builds, centering coils maybe basic Claptons. also gotta say I loved the tutorial on framed stapled, been doing a lot of aliens recently and wanted to try something new and I use a swivel on all my builds, most of them anyway and glad to see you threw the swivel method in there as well
Are you keeping the loop and the outer wire at a 90 degree angle or more like 88 degrees? Really took off once you got in the groove. Nice build bro. As far as the beginner to mid range tutorials I would like to see something creative using twisted wire in some sort of parallel build if you have anything up your sleeve. Thanks and glad to see you back.
something i haven't came across anywhere in utube.....regarding coils and wires is one video that explains it all...something that will work as the ultimate reference for all beginners. IMO it should cover 1. different types of wire kanthal ni ss etc..... 2. where can you use each type ...e.g kanthal for power mode and for rda rta etc....or if you can use kanthal and ni as a clapton on an rta rda in power mode.....on tc. 3 why you use these wires like so... 4. why some wires are spaced and some have zero spacing? 5. what wires need that spacing 6. what builds are suitable for rta tempwise.....(maybe some coil builds give off high temps that may harm an rta or rda) 7. differences of kanthal and anarchist wires....or other brands... -I am a beginner and for example i see vids where builders make simple coils and then they stretch em to create a spacing whilst others use pliers to bring em together ...why do they do it? is it the type of wire?type of build? -i am not familiar with anarchist wire...so is it kanthal ss ti ...? it would be nice to know -i am buying a new tc mod and an rta 2moro .... can i use a clapton wire with kanthal and ni at power mode or tc? - would an advanced build give high tempps that may crack or even break a glass at an rta? The above are things that are foggy subjects and it would be nice to have em all under one "umbrella" so that people that enter the world of vaping and mods atties etc have a better understanding. I hope my comment is not so tiring....be well doode
have ya been able to find the info ya need on builds as of yet? i ask because id be happy to answer any questions ya have. i dont know everything about building, but i know alot and build alot.
A basic tutorial for beginners on what all the numbers mean, from wire sizes, to ohms law. The fundamentals on the theory on what's happening under the hood.
Hey Squidoode I want to get into building more intricate builds than regular single wire coils. I've already nailed my first clapton and vertebraid coils and I was wondering if yo could do a video on (the coil builders toolkit' where you go over all the tools, wire (especially wire) one should have to start building. Thanks!
You're a savior man
Great video pal. Nice to see you back and would be great to see more tips and builds
A beginner rda/rdta single coil builds? Great to see you back!
bro you're one one of the best on youtube, more frequent publishings - that is my only wish to you
+Дмитрий Разящий They are coming! :)

Way to go bro, no more need of wasting the second clapton strand anymore. I will totally add this skill to the toolbox.
Cheers,
This video is exactly what i needed so that i could start learning how to build a staggered fused clapton. thank you i wish i found this way sooner
Great video! I'm a fan of Clapton coils and will definitely give this a try! Thanks for the "swivel" tip, it works great! I own a few different types of mod, rda's and rta's. thanks Ryan! i enjoy seeing how you do the complicated builds but tricks, tips and simply builds are great too.
After wasting tons of wire I finally starts to get this right! Thanks for the tip bro!
great tutorial as always brother! would love to see a spaced alien wire tutorial...
Great builds and tips and tricks. thanks for all great video's and builds always look forward to seeing new builds by u it helps me alot...

+Tysnatch Got something in the works to cover wick and wire!
Been using this forever. So much easier than two wires.
amazing. so much easier.
Question. What's the easiest way to Clapton with 40g? I would love to see a video showing that

The Reef coil would be a awesome build tutorial I've been wanting to learn that coil for a little
Great bit of innovation :)
OMG thanks! i needed this! you're the best!
Hey, you've probably thought about it already but what I always do is attach a weight to the loop freeing my other fingers to do other fingery things.
Thought I might add my input as to how I do it. Learning as I go.
Great video, gonna try it as soon as I get more wire, thank you
I always see you check the deck to see if the wraps will fit, but what's you thought process? What are you looking for? I figure all decks are a little different in well depth, deck height, hole diameter, rings spinning on the inside or out for airflow, etc. Just wanna know your process for that, AND pre-cutting for dual coil builds. Pre-cutting seems really risky to me.
+doclogic great suggestion man!
and thank you for all your hard work and informative videos
Maybe a video where you show different wires and your favorite builds with different combinations of them
your a bad ass thanks for all your builds you motivate me everyday to step up my builds keep it up and vape on
Keep up the awesome work Doode, love all the videos.
+salyert102 I think this is a great idea! Been on a tank building kick as of late. Might need to make a video!
I'd love to see a better way of keeping 3+ core wires parallel during the clapton process
ALL you need is a key ring ,,move along the three wires as you clapton it ,,it should be perfectly straight, make sure you use swivels,if you must ,steal some nylon jaw pliers ,you can take em from michaels craft stores
VilifiedVapez lol I'll just buy some thanks man I will try that tonight
I would like to see a corrugated staggered build where you could see the corrugated ribbon wire through the staggered wrap. Getting the corrugation to stay lined up is very difficult but it looks beautiful and vapes amazingly well.
I use coil master scissors as a weight for my spacing. I run 32g through the scissors and then butt up next to my feeding wire like you do with your loop. The scissors have enough weight to not jump around and are still able to follow along with the Clapton leaving flawless spaced clapton
nice to see you again :)
i like your detailed and relaxed Videos
i would like to see a comparation about some advanced coils
to find out which of them can hold the most juice :)) (without cotton of course)
also we could see on which coil the liquid is running the fastest from one to the other end of the coil... against gravity! (travelling upwards)
it would be easier for beginners to choose and practice one coil build for his own properties and favours
thank you!
fresh
+freshman2347 Great idea doode!
I started doing this a few weeks ago. saves so much wire
An indented fused or staggered fused Clapton tutorial would be great!
I want to see a video detailing all your favorite tools, and possibly some DIY solutions to your workstation. I really would like to have a solution to the drill situation. Some sort of lathe with a foot pedal switch would help me out a lot, as I have large hands, and frequently wish I didn't have to use one of them just to pull the trigger of a drill.
that was the coolest trick i have seen
Look forward to your next video's.
maybe talk about what types of builds and wire gauges you think a new builder should start with and master? maybe talk about how to maximize vapor production and flavor out of beginer building. I've been struggling and making mistakes by using way too big Guage wire in way to small setups i.e. 24ga in a goblin on a 40watt reg mod tryin to get a .5ohm build (hint its way too many wraps and takes waaaaay too much power).... so maybe go over why its important to use smaller guage wire when appropriate and how effective small wire can be
I'd love if you show us a technique to put a coil in the RDA and center it easily
I would love to see a video on drip shots, glow shots and the like. I know the man twisted messes did one but there's different lenses and lighting people use I would love to see what you got man!
hope all is a well ryan. another great video
+Armando Jimenez Thanks for the solid suggestion!
hey squidood I kind of figured out a really easy way to make a stagared Clapton just start your 36 gauge out about an inch or so from the chuck and then spin drill real slow wile holding the 36 gauge in left hand and get the staggered size gap that you want to have on the whole wire then pinch the wire with your thumb and pointer finger and just hold it while running the drill and it will stager its self all the way and have the same spacing all the way to the end of your core wire!!! and of you hold on to the end then the 36 gauge will break off right at the end perfect every time!!!!
very nice thank for the video man
Hey I do this to. good video. It's good to see this technique on here and all the others Good job
love this technique nice work doode,r4yb4d how about one on polished coils and the importance of proper cleaning, and how to do so. just thought it would make for a good tutorial. thanks for all the vids 👍👍💪💪😤😤
Genius! Thanks man.
I'd like to see some tips and trick tutorials on modifying your atomizers to accommodate some of these awesome builds
Another excellent video just like all your others. Thank you!
I'm going to guess that there's probably another comment here that suggest this, but I bet you could do the same technique with a weight of some sort so you're not holding the other end of the loop.
Great video...Thanks for the info!
ive heard about a twisted clapton and id like to see a tutorial on that also. different wicking techniques on advanced builds. also maybe some 316l builds since it seems to be whats next in vaping as its good to use in regular powe mode and tc mode. i see their is also a ton of 316l wire gauges now from 22 gauge to 36 gauge. seems like a wire to make some claptons with. also maybe some different staple coil builds. or how to do a dragon nano coil ive seen huge clouds from that one. anyway thanks
Hey man , love your vids , could you please show us how to make stove top claptons or smth like that?
+Jeremy Baity I'm keeping the wire as close to 90 degrees as possible and thank you for your suggestion!
The Art of Vaping Awesome SD... Thanks for hitting me back.
You should post a video on how to wrap 3+ core fused claptons... I've only been able to use 3+ cores with alien claptons so far.
Great video
Can you do a video on drilling out your post holes?
something i haven't came across anywhere in utube.....regarding coils and wires is one video that explains it all...something that will work as the ultimate reference for all beginners.
IMO it should cover
1. different types of wire kanthal ni ss etc.....
2. where can you use each type ...e.g kanthal for power mode and for rda rta etc....or if you can use kanthal and ni as a clapton on an rta rda in power mode.....on tc.
3 why you use these wires like so...
4. why some wires are spaced and some have zero spacing?
5. what wires need that spacing
6. what builds are suitable for rta tempwise.....(maybe some coil builds give off high temps that may harm an rta or rda)
7. differences of kanthal and anarchist wires....or other brands...
-I am a beginner and for example i see vids where builders make simple coils and then they stretch em to create a spacing whilst others use pliers to bring em together ...why do they do it? is it the type of wire?type of build?
-i am not familiar with anarchist wire...so is it kanthal ss ti ...? it would be nice to know
-i am buying a new tc mod and an rta 2moro .... can i use a clapton wire with kanthal and ni at power mode or tc?
Hey Squidoode
I want to get into building more intricate builds than regular single wire coils. I've already nailed my first clapton and vertebraid coils and I was wondering if yo could do a video on (the coil builders toolkit' where you go over all the tools, wire (especially wire) one should have to start building.
Thanks!
