    *I found these ball bearing swivel snaps to **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s be just as effective in every aspect as the much more expensive brand name snaps.*

    I tried swivel method for the first time today. Seriously, it couldn't have been easier. It just works.
    I'm happy that I rather went with this method than the clapton jig thing that everyone is talking about since the possibilities is way bigger with the swivel method compared to the jig.
    All I needed was a squeeze clamp, a plank, and a nail and of course the swivels, drill and wire.

    Oh man dude! As a fisherman here in Colorado I have so many of these lying around. I am still pretty new and trying to get my claptons right but as of tonight I have made flawless claptons using this vid. Thanks again for the awesome tutorials and helping those out who wish to progress in their coil building! I can't wait to see what else you have en-store for us man. But all of your builds give me inspiration to push my limits as a coil builder. This one has made it easier for sure! Thanks amigo! cheers!

    I've been using swivels for a while now and it's a total game changer. Free hand would cramp my fingers. Failed alien attempts would shred my fingers if I got kinks. Swivels are the way to go.

    This is simple genious. The vaping hobby explosion is really helping out alot of other companies as well as creating many new small businesses. Just wish I had a time machine to go back just 3-4 years when I was unhappy with my job at the time then went a while without work and wanted to start a business but had no ideas. Just to bad sub ohm tanks have slowed down the growth of coil builders. I know I build alot less since I got the atlantis when it came out. Actually if I could go back I and only change one thing I would probably bring out the first sub ohm tank better than the best one out today so people wouldn't have had to go through so many because of small issues each different one has. Like eliminate bottom filling from the start.

    Not sure how swivels ended up in the "less-talented" category, but for simple clapton builds, it would definitely be working faster & smarter. I've never used them myself and have hand wrapped every coil I've ever vaped for the last 3 years since this concept came out rather recently. I guess it's just "to each their own". Great vid, Sqiud! Stay foggy! \m/

    Pristine Builds or M.TERK on instagram (who also works at VVVapes) showed me this technique as well... I've been using it, and also made a video on it maybe a week or two ago myself (actually.. a day before you posting this video (lol). Great technique, fast and easy - for beginners.... or if your advanced and you can use this to simplify the process of doing even more advanced builds. I dont view this as "cheating" or whatever at all... I guess I can see where some people would... Either way - great video brotha - your camera quality and video quality is excellent man - love your videos - keep up the good work man! Take It Deep!

    god job on that end but have you tryed using a cotterpin in the drill chuck it works much better for me there is no trying to get wire centered in the chuck and trapedin the jaw it centeres automaticly just put the wire though the eye of the pin give it a spin then put the otherend om the swivle works great for me

    I have just started to try and learn how to make Claptons, since I don't have a bench press I still have to learn free handed and it is a pain in the butt

    • @TheArtofVaping
      @TheArtofVaping  6 років тому +1

      Best to learn the hard way first I always say! It's like drawing... They teach you how to draw before doing graphics in school!

    • @R3loaded1313
      @R3loaded1313 6 років тому

      The best way to learn is by freehand. Your will beast through builds once you use them. I would never use swivels to Clapton or fused but it helps with Aliens Staples and other multiple core builds due to tension. It's a very useful way to make building much more simple. Again, most builds you can free hand. Learning free hand is what's given me so much knowledge on the feeling of A build and the consistency. Keep up the work brother and just keep practicing. I wouldn't start using swivels until you can free hand a Clapton and fused Clapton. That will help you learn the feeling, and help you become familiar with feeling and visual aspects of correct building procedures

    These types of wire spools are very hard to find in the Philippines, sure you can ship overseas, but the cost would be trippled at the very least. Like a spool of Master Cloud 250' nichrome80 would cost 16.99 frickin dollars. I wonder if you guys also import branded wires just like the way how atomizers and mods are imported? It would be a really big help for people like me who would like to start in coil building.

  • @andrewgrignon826
    @andrewgrignon826 3 роки тому

    By inserting a simple single piece of round wire in between a fused clapton, how will this effect the resistance of the coil in all? Will it raise or lower the resistance?

    Would you change anything with the swivels for high gauge micro claptons like talking 36g/46gKPN80? It's like the 36g does't want to spin the swivel

    • @TheArtofVaping
      @TheArtofVaping  8 років тому

      +Curtis Rak The best thing to do that seems to work well with the finer wire is to actually insert a hook of sorts into the chuck of the drill and also use swivels on the other end. This should help allow you to keep more even pressure/tension on the core without it snapping at the swivels or at the drill.

      spin itslower or ease up on the tension...the drill is mechanical where as the swivels do their own work so the drill is most likelyspinning faster than the swivels can keep up so put less strain on the swivels and they should keep up better

    typical "competetiveness" of our nature. always trying to compare ourselves to each other. the pureness of the "technique" isn't what's reveled. Almost everybody I know, that built claps and other dynamic builds, started "freehand". and all of them, including myself, prefer swivels. shit, it's always about who did it first, or who's a better builder, for so many. For me, it's about efficiency. I build coils for purpose and don't care to get into the art form debate. Thanks for the video. definately helpful for those not in the know when it comes to swivel types. using 3, high quality ss swivels is golden information.

    Please can someone help me?! I've been beaten 6 times on a build. The core wire that I'm trying to do a spaced Clapton on, keeps snapping right at the chuck. Has anyone had the same issue? I think it might be the swivels not spinning well and this causes the wire to twist at the chuck and break when I'm spinning. So annoying!

    • @roryadam
      @roryadam 8 років тому

      apply less tension on the wires...wrap a bit looser? also once youget that first inch done squeeze it with pliers to get the inside wires parallel and then insert that section in the chuck. hope this helps...ive not actually done an alien so im just using logic...but either way figured it might help ya

    • @sunvol4503
      @sunvol4503 8 років тому

      Thank you, I'll try it next time but i'm not sure how well it will help. It just seems everytime I start to wrap the three wires form a triangle instead of a straight line. I'll keep trying im just going to have to buy more wire at this rate. Thanks for the input.

    • @nicholaskessler8353
      @nicholaskessler8353 8 років тому

      I know I'm a month late on this, but use a paperclip, keyring, or small hook to keep the wires parallel and move it down the length of wire as you wrap about an inch at a time. You'll still get a little bunching if you apply too much tension on the outer wire, but it'll at least keep everything straight. It is annoying to adjust the clip/ring every inch of wrapping, but as long as you're steady there won't be any skips or gaps in the wrap.

    SWIVEL TIP: if your swivels arent rotating enough it will make the wire twist and end up breaking, i had some old swivels in my tacklebox and strung up to clapton, halfway through it was sticking and ended up breaking, all i had to do was spray the swivels with some lubricating spray(WD-40) and they work just fine. be careful not to get the lubricant all over the wire, it wont taste good if it gets on the wire your using to vape. #VAPEON

    it's almost like cheating @theartofvaping is that what you mean by we have our own opinions.. as a somewhat new builder that has just really mastered fused Claptons and close relatives where I get it perfect,, I have really grown alot of respect for these builds,, it took me a bunch of Claptons to really get the techniques down.. there is something said for doing it with just a drill and your hands,, don't get me wrong tho,, I am going to cop some of those swivels for every once and a while,, but if new builders learn with just hands that gives a whole bother respect to it... no disrespect to people who use swivels

    I know you are one of the masters at coils out their but it confuses me why people who use swivels use so many when you only need one. Tighten one of the round ends around a vice and boom ur done. Or you could use one "clip open" swivel. Heres a link to what im referring to: ep.yimg.com/ca/I/tackle_2270_60409562 Again-it baffles me why people use five or six swivels. Ur coils are amazing and ive bought some from you before. Depending on your skill and talent can determine what you can and can't do. If you don't think any of this requires skill or talent then why do you think so many people watch this stuff? Further more, for those of us (myself included) who have come up with new and innovative coil designs, is that just luck or perhaps a product of time, skill and talent… Yes this method makes building clapton style coils much easier but that's because it requires less skill and talent to use!

      +The Art of Vaping they watch it because oviously you need to be taught bit there's a difference in being taught and having talent because talent can't be taught...abd if you can learn it then it's not talent.
