Hello Anthony; I was wondering why I had not broken any pins on my auger(Hondahs724) for over 20 years. Then I took the front end apart to find out that the impeller bearing was ruined and the pulley was wobling. Also the auger shaft had seized up and both pins had disapeared; but since the shaft was seized the auger was still doing it's job but the impeller bearing took the load and I guess I was lucky that the gearbox resisted. I had to take it to a Honda dealer and he showed me how the shaft was seized and the bearing done. He had to cut the shaft and ordered a new one with new pulley and bearing. I took it back home and assembled the whole thing whith much grease. I also installed the impeller kit from Amazon and it works real fine espescially with damp snow. Surprisingly the 3 bolts holding the right side bearing of the auger had disapeared after one hour of clearing the first storm last week. Had i forgot to thighten them after putting antiseized grease? Could be I guess. I just ordered some. Thank you for reading me. Maybe this could help Honda owners to check the front end more often. Paul Keep up the good work; All your videos helped me a lot to do all this.
WOW. Yes I have seen machines like yours after years and years of not being maintained. Yes lucky did not break auger gearbox. Snowblowers vibrate a lot so good idea to go around and tighten up hardware. I have not not those 3 bolts loosen up before but you could use blue thread locker on them if you think it may happen. I tried install thru chute and it took me longer that just removing the augers/impeller. Plus I was able to service the augers which I am going to do a video on in 2 days. step by step. thanks.
Buy you a bottle of Tap Magic . It gives the drill bit bite into the metal. Saw it in use in a machine shop and made a believer out of me. Best money I've spent to assist my drill press.
thanks. i use some cutting oil that works for me but I'll try this Tap Magic, I drill a lot of holes thru impeller fans for impeller kits and wear out the bits even with cutting oil after about 70-100 holes .
I disagree,I install my paddle rubbers tight to the housing so they all rub the housing when it's running. Then all you need to do is let it run and let the rubber wear down so they all three rub at the same rate. Your blower will blow snow father and not plug up when the snow gets heavy.

@@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311 Thank you very much.. But i'm not on Facebook
@@Paul-tm7ny ok.
Have installed many of these. Did one on a Honda HS1132 snowblower and measured throwing distance at 118 feet !
Thanks for the tips! Install was a snap thanks to your advice. Can’t imagine trying to install these through the chute.

Thanks for the tips!
I just did this on my Tru-Bilt 2665. Havent tested it yet. Need some snow!
One day ill get a Honda with tracks. So nice 👍
For me on my old Honda 80 it was a game changer.
Thank You!
You're welcome!

It would be nice not only to have a list of the tools you use but also where to get them..
ok. thanks. i do have a small video on tools and lubricants you should have but i like your suggestion to expand on this. great idea.
I’m getting a new HSS928 at the end of the month. Should I put an impeller kit on it?
NO! Give it a try first. Plus I would be concerned about voiding warranty. If you have clogging issues ask your dealer first.

That's what I do basically. Thanks for watching.
