I have been a Sanrenmu fan for a long time now. I just ordered this one and 3 other models with a nice discount today.
Great. I am so happy that I found Sanrnemu about 7 years ago. I have been able to review over 100 of their knives, more than from any other brand.
I own both, splendid models the 1005 blue -1006 brown. And I must say that the 1005 in 9cr ... I like it more both in terms of cut and shape of the blade. I then continue to say that 9cr13-14-18 is a good steel, denser and softer unlike, for example, a very aggressive 440c. In the evening the brown handle becomes beautiful, during the day the blue is more beautiful. As always a super detailed review thank you
The 9Cr18 is quite nice indeed. You will find a number of videos saying 9Cr18MoV is like 440C but they are wrong, they mix it up with 99Cr18MoV - that steel is like 440C. Its an easy mistake to make since the number is only one 9 different from each other.
I don't think there is a 9Cr13/14, but I could be wrong.
The G10 on both models is very well done, and it is so comfortable too.
This is a good looking knife and seems well designed for a big one. I wish these manufacturers would not put a glass-breaker on their carry knives, or make the dam glass breaker easily removable. I have been stabbed for the last time by one of those things. Thanks Jake.
This glass breaker is easy to remove but only IF you have another screw to hold the pocket clip on because the glass breaker is the screw for the pocket clip. I have been lucky, I have never been hurt or even bothered by a glass breaker on the handle of a knife - BUT I still think they are kinda useless 99.99% of the time.

I've got the 1006-GB and the 1005-GQ. Budget or not, I baby those two. When I need to use a knife to open packages or to play with on cardboard, I use my Boker multi-tool or my Ganzos. I don't want even the smallest scratch on my SRMs. 😄😄😄
NICE. I am a fan of my SRM knives too. Ganzo definitely has some blades that I treat very roughly, and they can handle it too.

No., it is not at Canadian Tire. Never has been and I bet there will never be SRM knives there in the future.
can i take of thumb stunt?
There is no screw slot in the thumb studs but they should come off with pliers. Everything that goes on can come off. But I can't say the thumb stud will stay in perfect condition or not. I don't know if they used threadlocker or not.
