Both videos are entirely unique and this one is really good, just forever a reminder that 096 in its simplicity is horrifying. Reminder this thing only needed 2 pixels in the background of a picture someone happened to notice years later, to breach containment once.
Nah, if you read the addendum thats cause a doctor broke into that mountaineers house and replaced the picture with a picture with 096 in the corner. He intentionally did this in a remote town to prove the real impossibility of containing 096 in the long term, changing SCP policy towards 096 but getting himself terminated in the process.
I've always believed this about SCP, but it's dumb to forget that semtantics is a thing, and sorta shows how bad the logic is on even some of the more popular articles. Let me put it like this. You drop individual grains of sand onto the ground, and keep going, one at a time. Exactly how many grains of sand does it take to become a "pile?" How many does it take to become a "mound?" How many does it take to become a "hill?" 096's response is based on human perception. "If you see his face, he'll kill you..." So what even makes up his FACE? How accurate of a drawing can you make of 096's "face" before he magically decides "yeah, thats close enough to my face, I'll kill them over that." It just breaks down when you apply logic to it. If a human needs to see his face, 2 pixels isnt a face. Yes, its the front of his head for sure, but thats NOT a FACE, and the article specifically says "when SOMEONE views Scp-096's FACE." Edit- not to make this any longer, but another logic flaw comes from SCP-2521. It seems foolproof at first. It CAN understand language, but CANT understand images, so you can only communicate about it through images... But what about pictographic languages like hyroglyphics or mandarin? Those are a written language...but they are based on depictions. So theres a logical flaw to cover that wasnt considered when writing the article. But, I know I'm being too picky at this point.

Stories about omega task force teams that have goggles which, before they show the wearer the terrain, scan for 096, and when it detects his face they were designed to completely scramble it to not show ANY part of his body. There are also SCP's where there's a *fifth* wall, beyond even *us* - the audience. Some of them go beyond any concept of walls altogether. Some of them EAT the walls as their entire shtick. Some of them fuck with the narrative structure of the reality underlying the walls. Some of them can erase the entire concept of walls from existence. Some of them *ARE* the damn walls. The idea of any lifeform surviving - let alone evolving in - such an incomprehensibly hostile Universe has become downright absurd. What If Medusa saw SCP-096's face? In a big black horse, a chaos insurgency member goes fleeing away from the facility, with a picture of none other than shy guy himself's face, folded so he doesnt accidentally see it. He is making his way to Medusa's garden which contains many of her victims now turned into stone. This guy also made sure to take scramble goggles with him. He had engineered them specifically so that they can scramble and block medusa's eyes from his vision, as well as SCP-096's face. He finally arrives at the garden, it sounded empty and quiet, it had a lot of plants, and of course, many stone statues. The stone statues ranged from birds, humans, centaurs, to even a variant of Leland Turbo. Bro puts his special scramble goggles on. Bro gets off his big black horse. Bro equips the picture of shy guy. Even though he designed his goggles to block SCP-096's face, he often felt uncannyness holding the picture and held it very cautiously. The garden was dang quiet. Only one to two birds were heard singing every now and then. He yelled "I KNOW UR THERE" at the top of his lungs. "Hello, young man", said a voice behind bro. Bro turns around, and saw a women wth sunglasses and her hair covered with some cloth or something idk bruh (obviously medusa) He said "i've got a handsome fellow for you to take a look at". The women takes the sunglasses off, the cloth off revealing a bunch of snakes. She notices bro isnt turning to stone, and notices the goggles hes wearing. It is obvious those goggles are intervining. Medusa approaches the chaos insurgency member, with intentions of pulling the goggles off, but he dont move and quickly holds up the picture of SCP-096's face up in her face. She sees it, but ignores it and the snakes grab it and consume it, as she is determined to get those goggles, but it doesnt matter, shes already seen him. The chaos insurgency member then turns back and begins running away to his big black horse, but to his horror, he is stone. He screams the most horrifyingly loudest most painful "NOOOOOOOOO" you can possibly imagine, words cannot describe it. He stands there, feeling his heart drop to his stomach, as he hears Medusa's footsteps approching him from behind. He drops to his knees, and medusa grabs his hair, and spins him around with ease, as he has no resistance now. She is about to pull off the goggles when some horrendous screams start hearing nearer every milisecond. AAUAUAGGGH EEEUUH AAAAUUGG AAAAAAUAH She turns around and sees a tall, white and terrifying slender creature closing in on her. Medusa's first instinct is to stare the creature down, and thats exactly what she is doing, however, the creature is going on such tremendous speeds that he is not even stopping. She doesnt feel anything, and feels just fine. She slowly opens her eyes, and bumps her head with a piece of stone - a large, slender arm that is now stone. She looks up and sees the creature's face now, widest, most exaggeratted mouth open but as solid grey rock. The chaos insurgency member is barely crawling, but medusa slowly picks him up by the hair, and rips the goggles off his face. She looks at him in the eyes and feels victorious with three new stone collections. However, as she begins walking away, she hears stone cracking behind her, the tall slender figure stone cracked more, but it revealed his white skin underneath each crack. It cracked more, more, more, MORE AAAAAAAUUUGGHH EERUEH Keeping an eye on SCP-096, she slowly backs away, but is stopped as she hits the big black horse, she turns around for one second to see what it was, turns back around, and right in her face is the tall slender whitw creature staring her Picture a scene where 096 lets out a massive rageful scream, but it is perfectly cut as it switches to another shot of the helicopters with mobile task force ready to bag 096, then they drop on medusa's garden, ans finally bag 096 who is back at sitting in the floor.
I never understood why people make out 096 to be immortal,I mean,sure he is Relentless and extremely tought but he doesn't have abilities other than that (and always knowing where his target is),the writers made him out to be an unkillable God for some reason.

idk this really doesn't work for me. the computerized voice is nigh-impossible to understand so using it for a wide-range broadcast makes no sense. saying the message is from an "anonymous organization dedicated to blah blah blah" is also way off, the information serves no use. it only makes the message seem more suspicious and draws attention to the organization itself.

I mean, I suppose you could just launch it into space. I doubt it's gonna come back. Only problem is trying to get it there. If SCP-096 has targeted millions of people, how do you find out who is the next target before it reaches them? We also don't really know if SCP-096 is truly unkillable. It can take damage apparently. It just has a very high healing factor, much like SCP-682. The foundation refrains from using their most destructive arsenal in termination attempts, such as nuclear weapons and certain Thaumiel objects, unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. I would assume if SCP-096 begins targeting the whole world. The Foundation won't restrain itself in their attempts to stop it. Even if they can't permanently kill it, they might just dismember the creature, and continuously monitor its remains to ensure it never fully regenerates.

I feel like the circumstance would be so out of the ordinary, that it might spark new behavior from SCP-096. The first of which would be it no longer crying, and it just starts maniacally laughing. The second is that his intelligence goes through the roof, directly linked to the amount of people that saw his face. Third, instead of killing those who saw its face, it would instead force them to submit to its rulership. However, to ensure its power never faded, it would force others to see its face, as it had no power over those who didn't. New designation: SCP-096-B "The Paranoid King"

How many hours, days, months or even years would it take for SCP-096 to individually track down and kill all those people? Even running at 35 to 150 km/h would take an insane amount of time to pull off!
To be fair, if half or more than half the planet was to see Shy Guy’s face, I’m pretty sure he’d run to the next Ikea, steal and assemble a bed and then continue to lie there with depression. At some point, anger has to give way to absolute depression. While certainly capable of the task, this would probably the tipping point for him.

Parker probe estimated mission time is 7 years with 7 gravity assists to get close to the sun. Now you want to launch something even bigger that needs a containment stage within the rocket and you need to hit the sun or at least get into its atmosphere to burn up.

Nah, if you read the addendum thats cause a doctor broke into that mountaineers house and replaced the picture with a picture with 096 in the corner. He intentionally did this in a remote town to prove the real impossibility of containing 096 in the long term, changing SCP policy towards 096 but getting himself terminated in the process.
I've always believed this about SCP, but it's dumb to forget that semtantics is a thing, and sorta shows how bad the logic is on even some of the more popular articles.
Let me put it like this. You drop individual grains of sand onto the ground, and keep going, one at a time. Exactly how many grains of sand does it take to become a "pile?" How many does it take to become a "mound?" How many does it take to become a "hill?"
096's response is based on human perception. "If you see his face, he'll kill you..."
So what even makes up his FACE? How accurate of a drawing can you make of 096's "face" before he magically decides "yeah, thats close enough to my face, I'll kill them over that."
It just breaks down when you apply logic to it. If a human needs to see his face, 2 pixels isnt a face. Yes, its the front of his head for sure, but thats NOT a FACE, and the article specifically says "when SOMEONE views Scp-096's FACE."
Edit- not to make this any longer, but another logic flaw comes from SCP-2521. It seems foolproof at first. It CAN understand language, but CANT understand images, so you can only communicate about it through images...
But what about pictographic languages like hyroglyphics or mandarin? Those are a written language...but they are based on depictions. So theres a logical flaw to cover that wasnt considered when writing the article.

Stories about omega task force teams that have goggles which, before they show the wearer the terrain, scan for 096, and when it detects his face they were designed to completely scramble it to not show ANY part of his body.
Then the team approach and 096 scrambled them- because even one pixel of his face was enough to mentally set him off. DRAWINGS of this guy made by people who had seen his face in the past were enough. Its literally anything.

What If Medusa saw SCP-096's face?
In a big black horse, a chaos insurgency member goes fleeing away from the facility, with a picture of none other than shy guy himself's face, folded so he doesnt accidentally see it. He is making his way to Medusa's garden which contains many of her victims now turned into stone. This guy also made sure to take scramble goggles with him. He had engineered them specifically so that they can scramble and block medusa's eyes from his vision, as well as SCP-096's face.
He finally arrives at the garden, it sounded empty and quiet, it had a lot of plants, and of course, many stone statues. The stone statues ranged from birds, humans, centaurs, to even a variant of Leland Turbo.
Bro puts his special scramble goggles on.
Bro gets off his big black horse.
Bro equips the picture of shy guy.
Even though he designed his goggles to block SCP-096's face, he often felt uncannyness holding the picture and held it very cautiously.
The garden was dang quiet. Only one to two birds were heard singing every now and then.

He screams the most horrifyingly loudest most painful "NOOOOOOOOO" you can possibly imagine, words cannot describe it.
He stands there, feeling his heart drop to his stomach, as he hears Medusa's footsteps approching him from behind.
He drops to his knees, and medusa grabs his hair, and spins him around with ease, as he has no resistance now. She is about to pull off the goggles when some horrendous screams start hearing nearer every milisecond.
AAUAUAGGGH EEEUUH AAAAUUGG AAAAAAUAH
She turns around and sees a tall, white and terrifying slender creature closing in on her.
Medusa's first instinct is to stare the creature down, and thats exactly what she is doing, however, the creature is going on such tremendous speeds that he is not even stopping. She doesnt feel anything, and feels just fine. She slowly opens her eyes, and bumps her head with a piece of stone - a large, slender arm that is now stone. She looks up and sees the creature's face now, widest, most exaggeratted mouth open but as solid grey rock.
The chaos insurgency member is barely crawling, but medusa slowly picks him up by the hair, and rips the goggles off his face. She looks at him in the eyes and feels victorious with three new stone collections.
However, as she begins walking away, she hears stone cracking behind her, the tall slender figure stone cracked more, but it revealed his white skin underneath each crack.
It cracked more, more, more, MORE
AAAAAAAUUUGGHH EERUEH
Keeping an eye on SCP-096, she slowly backs away, but is stopped as she hits the big black horse, she turns around for one second to see what it was, turns back around, and right in her face is the tall slender whitw creature staring her
Picture a scene where 096 lets out a massive rageful scream, but it is perfectly cut as it switches to another shot of the helicopters with mobile task force ready to bag 096, then they drop on medusa's garden, ans finally bag 096 who is back at sitting in the floor.

We also don't really know if SCP-096 is truly unkillable. It can take damage apparently. It just has a very high healing factor, much like SCP-682. The foundation refrains from using their most destructive arsenal in termination attempts, such as nuclear weapons and certain Thaumiel objects, unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. I would assume if SCP-096 begins targeting the whole world. The Foundation won't restrain itself in their attempts to stop it. Even if they can't permanently kill it, they might just dismember the creature, and continuously monitor its remains to ensure it never fully regenerates.

I feel like the circumstance would be so out of the ordinary, that it might spark new behavior from SCP-096. The first of which would be it no longer crying, and it just starts maniacally laughing. The second is that his intelligence goes through the roof, directly linked to the amount of people that saw his face. Third, instead of killing those who saw its face, it would instead force them to submit to its rulership. However, to ensure its power never faded, it would force others to see its face, as it had no power over those who didn't.

Let's say around the same time about 650 million people around the world managed to view the face on screens before the foundation took it down. How many hours, days, months or even years would it take for SCP-096 to individually track down and kill all those people?
