I am the owner of a beautiful white 1976 Corvette. It is absolutely amazing just how much better it looks than that one. Mine has silver rally wheels with trim rings and chrome center caps instead of the alloy wheels. It has bright aluminum rocker trim. It has old style chrome mirrors. It has Stingray emblems instead of the crossed flags. It has chrome windshield trim. It has solid color paint, with no pinstriping. But the elephant in the room is that huge ugly bubbleback rear window. That thing is so bad it would still look ugly from orbit. Just what the hell was GM thinking? They totally ruined five years of C3 Corvettes. That car looks to be in beautiful condition. But that back window just ruins it.
I think the back glass looks fine and Chevy did it to open the car up and help stop the complaints of a small cramped cockpit. It didn't change much but the car feels bigger on the inside. Also this fastback design was becoming all the rage at the time and most people liked them and it certainly didn't hurt sales. And put the spoilers on and it looks even better. 😀

They started offering these cars in automatic so that women would buy them.
