It’s kind of funny, because I have just gotten into houseplants this year, so like you, I was telling myself that I did not like alocasias. But then I saw a Jacklyn for a really low price, and I thought to myself “Why not try it now?” The Jacklyn is not thriving but I have a corm that is now becoming a small plant 😍😍 And I bought frydek and dragons breath corms really cheap, and it is sooo fin to watch them grow! Oh and I also bought an Polly last week 🤪🤪😍
Your video was suggested to me by chance and I was shocked for a moment because I saw how few subscribers/viewers you have. I thought the whole video was so good and professionally done that I just assumed that you were also one of the big plant UA-camrs with thousands of viewers. The video is really well done, keep it up🥰🙈
Hi 👋 Joy! I just found your channel and I’m already liking and subscribing to you girl! I am very picky about who I follow and I am drawn to your professionalism and honesty, but maybe most importantly, the way that you introduce your collection is very thought out and you remain extremely focused on your content! I’m gonna definitely check out your UA-cam videos and can’t wait to catch the next one for sure 😊, thanks so very much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us, love Ginger PS I have a few alocasia plants but I have no clue what they are called I just see a plant that I really like and buy it if the price is right and then try to figure out if I can grow it and keep it alive hehehe 🤭
I think my favorite Alocasia in my collection right now is the Variegated Alocasia Frydek too! I don’t think that the leaves lose their white as they mature? Or at least as far as I’m aware? My leaves are easily over a foot long at the moment with a new one unfurling, and it has a really bright white color on it. Not of my other older leaves have lost that white color. I don’t know where you have yours in your house but mine is next to a west facing window and it loves it there! Anyway, I love your alocasia collection and can’t wait to see it grow bigger!😊💕
Thank you so much! I usually fill the water up to where the LECA ends (usually 1/4-1/3 of the container) and then wait a couple days after the water is gone to replenish.
Yayyyy! Alocasia are my absolute faaaaaaves 😍😍😍 And yes, dragon scale blooms smell like broccoli 😂 (note that I love broccoli but the smell is just not it lol) They stink up my entire apartment 🤣
I was planning to sneak in a baby Pink Dragon into the box I'm sending you...unless you wouldn't want it. Let me know! It's one of my favorite alocasias!
thanks so much for watching, friends! 🫶 are you an alocasia person?
Great collection! Yes, I’m definitely an Alocasia person and slowly or maybe quickly becoming an Anthurium addict!!😂

Alocasia are definitely in my top 3 favorite genus. Wish they weren’t so dramatic, but I love them so much.

I grow my alocasia in leca and they absolutely love it ❤🪴
Really enjoyed your video. Looking forward to more. On average, where do you keep the water level with soil in no drainage? Thanks!
Thank you so much!
