Blood pressure can be seen as a barometer of overall circulatory health. A resident with high blood pressure is at a significantly greater risk for heart failure, stroke, chronic kidney disease and damage to the arteries, which can cause heart attack. Conversely, a blood pressure that is too low can cause other potential problems.
In this video, Lisa demonstrates the proper technique for measuring and recording a resident's blood pressure using an electronic blood pressure machine.
