For a variety of reasons, a resident may be unable to ambulate or use a bedside commode. The Nurse Aide must assist the resident with the use of a bedpan in order for the resident to void. This video demonstrates the proper technique for assisting a resident with the use of a bedpan.

HI Shifah- Thank you for watching our videos. The patient was provided a wet wipe to wash her hands after wiping. It is not necessary during the state skill exam for the patient to demonstrate this action. It is important that she is provided the means to clean her hands which she was.

Hi Cing! Thank you for watching our videos! I do actually wash my hands several times in the video. For the Colorado state skills exam hand washing can be verbalized or rubbing alcohol can be used.
