I was following your End of Time part 1 breakdown there... I remember how much that spooked we, the idea of cloning yourself into every human on the planet
I'll never forget when I met the prof. I was working a meat counter and I was wrapping up a package of pork chops, he was very kind but I kept fucking up because I was very high, then I cried.
@@TolarianCommunityCollege yeah!!! And I was, I lost my mom when I was 12 so mother's day is a rough one for me 😅😅 thanks for your patience and kindness!
big shoutout to Prof for being such a good sport. getting bullied on his own show has gone from being a mundane occurrence to an actual part of the highlight reel. love him for that.
The social negotiation at the table of who to attack is kind of a weird element of the Commander format. I feel like a singleton 2 headed giant would have most of the same table fun but without that weird unfairness built in. Or there was another old format for any number of players where everyone simply attacks clockwise.
@@nikhilchhagan7371totally agree, i have watched every single shuffle up and play and the first one thats always getting the back hand is Prof. Its getting really old!
What I love about Shuffle Up and play, is that it really captures that “4 friends just playing commander” energy. Which is the reason most of us play commander anyway
It's easy to capture that because 99% of the time, that's what it is. So many of us have known each other for YEARS at this point, so while sometimes we have a new person we are still getting to know, the majority of these are really just "OMG, I get to play Commander with my friends!"
I also love that about Shuffle Up and Play. Takes me back to high school years where my friends and I would go to our card shop every Sunday to play hours of commander, none of us that good at the game lol. Fond memories
The only thing they're missing are those "too close for comfort" moments that happen from time to time lol. When someone at the table starts getting genuinely HEATED.
I always feel like she is scary away from home. On Commander at Home she plays silly things like her boat deck and is chill. Here and on GK she is a BEAST!
I have been a competitive yugioh player for years but I haven’t been having much fun with it as of late. This channel was recommended to me by the crazy youtube algorithms and wow am I so glad that it was. I am now a magic player because of this channel and am loving it! Thank you for all you do!
I play both as well. Magic table top and Yugioh online. Every time I get asked which is better and I can't give them a answer because both are great. It's hard to explain the difference to Magic and Yugioh non players.
As a fellow YuGiOh player who’s been pulled into Commander, welcome to another potentially expensive TCG. At least this one we can play with the whole friend group lol.
as someone that just got back into the game after over 10 years out of it, it's so nice that you guys read off every card and explain the action. lets this old dog keep up!
Peter Capaldi’s run was so underrated, I really wish they gave him more to work with, he really did the role justice. Watching the culmination of River Song’s story was the best for someone who started with Matt Smith then went back and watched Dr. Who from the beginning.
I saw the Raff video and decided to build my own version of it with the same basic concept, but less of a budget restriction. Control spellslinger+tokens. And I love that deck! Raff flies so under the radar because when you read him, he doesn’t look like he’d draw you very many cards, but he gets the card draw ball rolling, and then once you throw in some cheap draw spells, it snowballs out of control (or _into_ control, more accurately) pretty quickly.
I can’t believe it was a TCC video that got me to finally understand the “heart beat of a time lord”. They have two hearts, so they beat 4 times per pulse! I was such a huge fan during the SUPERWHOLOCK era of television, and just never understood what that meant, but now it all makes sense!! Thanks Prof!
Just brought the "House always wins" budget deck and have been playing it in paper. Absolutely loving it, and most of the tables have enjoyed the mechanics.
The pegasus tokens remind me of that meme for a drawing contest, the 2nd place is a wonderful very lifelike drawing of a dog, and the winner is an amalgam of lumpy shapes made by a 3 year old
So actually, Bobbie wouldn't have been able to kill Prof if she chose all modes and he'd had a creature in hand because Rankle has First Strike, so that trigger would resolve before the rest of the damage, then Dreadhound triggers.
5:00 our main house rule: If you draw an unplayable starting hand, feel free to mull until you got something playable. We're here to play magic, not sit and watch others play magic.
Watching prof talk about a great story from probably the best TV show ever to exist and three people not care hurts my soul. A shared enjoyment of Dr Who was the start of a beautiful relationship with my now spouse of 9 years who I have 3 children with.
Best gameplay show ever. I love watching friends bouce off each other and have a good time. Feeds me 'till the weekend when my goons and I get to indulge in the same manner.
I genuinely love everyone's personality in this video and I wish I could play with yall. Been a huge fan of you, prof, since the original inistraad set. You helped me buy my first precon and my first sleeves and deck box. If I ever got the opportunity, I would love to come play some casual edh with all of you!
I can't deny that it starts to feel a bit...genuinely annoying when no matter what's going on in the games, Prof is the first priority. Feels like a bit that's getting stale.
i love how in hijinks and in commander at home olivia is like yea i dont ever attack, but then when she plays with prof she just swings at him every time xD
The funny thing is the prof actually kinda did quote Talledaga Nights because there is a point where Ricky's dad says "There's plenty of other spots. There's second. There's third." Or something along those lines.
Oh mein Gott, als George am Ende Deutsch gesprochen hat hab ich fast einen Herzinfarkt gehabt :D (George speaking German at the end almost gave me a heart attack)

That story arc is so much fun! While Saxon Master genuinely scares me, Missy (the woman on Prof's Commander card) is pure gold
Jesse Robkin is a LEGEND! She needs to be on every episode. *chanting* Jesse Jesse Jesse Jesse!!!
I know its the running gag, but sometimes I get sick of Prof getting dogpiled dunked on and killed first so much
