    Stephen A, if you don't want to come off as a huge hypocrite, acknowledge how you DIDN'T do that when ASIAN players tried to make strides in the league and how you and Shaq said racist things and ridiculed them instead of treating them the same way you would've any other black player. Yes, I'm talking about Lin and Yao.

    • @ohdaUtube
      @ohdaUtube 5 років тому +1

      @J Day tell me WHY him and others kept marginalizing what was UNTHINKABLE of a player bounced around just cause he was ASIAN. He didn't even play in teams before him prior to getting traded. Even Matt Maloney(!!) got drafted. Kept ridiculing him, saying he's not NEARLY as good as he actually was based on the color of his skin (see: inferior). If he was anyone else, ESPECIALLY with the Knicks back then, he would've been dancing around like crazy.

I watch him play every game both now and when he played for the Jazz from 2007-10. Frankly, his overall game is better now than when he was young. No matter. What he's done with this very public discussion about his white privilege and what he's doing to change both himself and others ... this is what will make him a legend.

      i dont consider humanity having a race. unless you say the human race. the only reason that fallacy considered a thing is because it was institutionalized to keep indentured servents and poor europeans from uniting with slaves to overthrow the rich in the colonial period of US history. if humanity actually had races, there would be many different species of humans like there is with dogs and cats. but there is only one human species, therefore only one race.

      @Surf Surfing What you said is not wrong, if all white people did not exist there would not be racism between black and white people, but stating that is rhetorical because the ignorance inherent in humans would lead to some sort of hatred in race even without white people.

    You know i just gotta be honest here. Forgive me if you disagree, I don’t mean any disrespect to anyone. I’m not saying there’s no validity/truth there because there is. his argument base is right but its all the extra “victim” claiming that almost discredits him to me personally. And yes, as a white 28 y.o man ill never know the true extent of what its like to be black and I don’t say/act like i do know/get their struggle. Im also not gonna act like most and say “im not racist” because i do harbor a little resentment toward certain blacks(gangsters/wanna be gangsters) due to being stolen from/robbed/at gunpoint/ and literally running on foot like a bitch from a group of 3 when they were chasing me & trying to rob me. ( was homeless for 4 yrs.) BUT.. I’ve had same experiences from white groups minus me running and being at gunpoint. So forgive me for being real I don’t trust and avoid ppl that look/act a certain way because of past exp. the point of all this being i could understand certain feelings toward another race but to constantly play the victim and make it out that “the entire race” white or black is out to get u is b.s. again blacks have it rougher than whites in America; I acknowledge that. Don’t truly understand what its like BC IM NOT BLACK. But Stephen a saying there is “no stress greater than being black day in/day out.” What about cancer patients, schizos, targeted individuals, etc.? sorry for all this i just cant stand todays “victim” age shit just gets old whether its about race, sexuality, or w.e.

    The most telling piece of the story was when Korver states he was dismissive or detached from black issues. He stated that he immediately blamed both the black NBA players when they had certain issues. Now this is coming from a dude who's spent the last 16 years around predominantly black dudes. Riding buses and planes with them. Eating with them. Watching and studying and working alongside them in a much more intimate setting than most people do with their co workers. And he still had the prevailing American attitude. So if this dude can have that attitude after all those experiences, imagine what the average person who just has a cubicle down the aisle from a black person thinks.

    White privilege is a myth, Kyle Korver is where he is because he put in the work and is one of the best knockdown shooters not because he’s white. It boils down to parenting , passing down these disgusting racial beliefs. But to say that someone is privileged because They are white is just stupid everyone in life has problems their are white people out there struggling to feed their children which I can speak from experience my mum single handily raised me and my brother without any help from my father . The way people of any creed, colour and sexuality make it in this world is by working hard blaming your problems on race is disrespectful to your ancestors who faced serious hardships because they were born a different colour because in 2019 I don’t see people getting lynched, I don’t see bars where people are divided because of their skin colour but what I do see is a world where a black or white man can be president, a world where a black or white man can make millions off their talent and hard work and a world where anyone can be successful. It’s confusing that the people telling you privilege exists are making millions living in massive houses when they should be telling you that they live in these houses and earn the money they do is because they have worked hard for it , it teaches anyone listening that they should blame race which is THE PROBLEM because it is false and gives people an excuse.

    I think there was one very important piece of that article Korver wrote that needs to be talked about and that the idea of White Guilt over White Responsiblity. Korver brought up the fact that White people shouldn't feel guilty or made to feel guilty for the things they weren't involved in but the should take responsibility in not only speaking out against but also helping make things better

      Yes, that is the mistake that the media makes. They paint it out like white should feel guilty about something that they don't support just because their ancestors engaged in that behavior.

    Kyle Korver is a BETA! When are we gonna start holding the INDIVIDUAL accountable, and not the RACE. Forget all this identity politics bull jive.

      As soon as the justice system starts working in a way that makes that possible. How many cops have shot an killed an unarmed black man and kept his freedom. How many of us have to be imprisoned for the higher ups to ask themselves is this really just or does the system and by proxy us have a racial bias.

      Ben Simmons I’ll pray you’ll understand where I’m coming from. This narrative that this nation is racist and that white men should be ashamed and apologize for being white is WRONG. A beta isn’t someone who appeases a false narrative. A beta isn’t someone who is about the INDIVIDUAL and not the RACE of another person. But you feel the way you feel man, God bless you.

      @@Mr11x2 this nation is extremely racist and prejudiced and all those nasty things. Theres way too much evidence to argue otherwise. But whites should not be ashamed of being white they should be ashamed that their fellow human beings are being herded up and gunned down and they say nothing. They dont speak out. The majority just sits back and feels sorry for us. And that doesnt help anyone. Youd want ur neighbor to speak up if he knew the hardships u went threw and u knew that his voice would help. And youd be disappointed that he doesnt at least say anything. All we need is for white ppl to acknowledge that these things exist at least.

      Ben Simmons you say God isn’t real? Man are you lost... you are very, very lost. I pray and hope you find the truth that your Lord and father in heaven can only bring you. And this nation is not the most racist. I can argue it’s the least racist. If this country was as racist as you say then there would be no Lebron James, or a Denzel or so on and so forth. This identity politics you promote is very sad and divisive. This false boogey man you call racism is simply on life support, the only ones that keep it alive are the ones that promote this identity politics. Now I know there are racist people out there, but it’s not near as bad as people like you make it out to be. But I digress on this issue for now... like I said before, GOD bless you man, I hope you find him and his truth. Stop making blacks out to be nothing but victims, they’re better than that. We’re all better than that, we just have to start holding ourselves accountable and trusting in the Lord our father. Have a good one, and one again, GOD BLESS.
