Pretty Privilege is real and I think most people are doing all they can to fit in the standards so they will be noticed. I imagine if people were noticed and treated nicely no matter how they looked or what they had, I'm sure fewer people would try and fit that mold and be themselves because they are accepted.
I don't understand why this show hasn't reached millions yet. You women are so intelligent and insightful. I've listened to other self-help podcasts that only think they are on the level of introspect that you ladies are. Let me be petty so you do not have to. I said what I said. :-) You mention that you are online big sisters. I looked up your ages and I have you guys by x-amount of years ;-) but you are so far more mature than I was at your age so I bow down and respect the fact that you are my big sisters doing big things! I cannot wait to listen to the next episode!
“you need to be anchored in something that does not change” SISTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS SO GOOD!!!! MY GOODNESS!!!!! NAH YALL WENT OFF WITH THIS ONE!!! wowowowowowowwwww AMEN to all of this!!! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Hi sisters, PLEASE do a video on how-to's for CV letters! That would be super informative and our generation could use more women of color teaching these topics. You ladies are amazing and thank you for the content!
I felt it when you mentioned we have one life to live. I'd be damned if I don't get to enjoy the best years of my life. I've lost 35lbs since year and it's giving me a new respect to myself and my body 😚 I feel bad for all the things I put her through but she has arrived with self-love! Amazing all around episode! You ladies say things way better than I could articulate them! 😭
This episode came at the right /perfect time. While I'm still processing the last episode, this one has helped me make sure I don't fall into ' birthday' insecurities cause I've learnt that insecurities come in all forms and sizes and this week my birthday insecurities are being addressed. And Also I think one of the biggest problems with nowadays is that people are taking advantage of the fact that people want and value strangers opinions I thank you ladies for this episode 🥺
I find it so MAD that the topics you speak on always sync with what I go through at times it’s absolutely crazy. But I love it!!! Thank you so much ladies, this is definitely one that I need to come back to and take serious notes. 🦋✨
Love this, very honest and the range is there. I will posit that there is no such thing as objectively pretty. Aside things like hip to waist ration there is no science to attractive/pretty. It’s very much convention and subjectivity
Renee and Courtney DID NOT HOLD BAACK in this episode ...urghhh loved this episode👐🏾💓👐🏾 . It is a new fave 🥺and I have shared with a couple of friends who need to hear THEEE honesty .
Sometimes I ask myself that if we were to live in a matriarchal society would pretty privilege exist ? And if it did to what extent would it exist. You mentioned that it isn’t a conscious decision people make to treat “conventionally pretty” people better. However I’ve found it less common amongst women to treat people they don’t find attractive badly …. Look at how many pretty girls are married to “conventionally unattractive men” And the times that women do treat other women badly is solely based upon the male standards instilled in us . Like for example accepting the pretty girl into your squad so you could get invited to parties and be the centre of male attention or bringing another womens looks down for male validation. It’s never for our own validation as women. While men on the other hand are rarely seen married to “conventionally unattractive women” when they bring a women down its to boost their own egos and to reflect their own inner insecurities and self-hatred. Not to get the validation of women .
I really like this podcast, however I don't think people voicing certain goals you should have is always bad. You can have any goals you want, but that does not mean it will get you to where you want to be. For example if you want to be fit, working out once a week and eating pounds of cake is not going to get you to that goal. Some of your goals are nor realistic and will not get you to the life you want to attain.
I am making a conscious decision to love myself. People say life is short, but life is too long to be discontent the whole journey
Exactly! I’m going to start using this saying ❤️ thank you

This is my first time listening to a full episode and I loved it. Young women need this level of truth telling, and it is clearly based in love.

The only thing you should be sacrificing your comfort for is the weights ladies.
Lift those weights, you will not look like a man.
