Moa has said how she always feels bad for the people at the back in the arena shows being so far from the stage - this was one way to bring the stage a bit closer to them. As they toured the world they realised their foreign fans must have been studying and learning Japanese to sing along with them. As a mark of their love and respect they decided they must reciprocate and return the compliment by learning a song completely in English. 'The One' is that song - it is dedicated to the fans (who they also named The One) and is effectively their love letter to the fans.❤ This was the official video, so the audio was from the album - specifically the Japanese domestic version, so it was the half and half English/Japanese version. The international release had the full English version. They have switched it up as well, there is an "unfinished" version (basically acoustic, just vocals and piano ... it is beautiful) on The First Take channel, but that is pretty much just the first verse. That other song is full on Prog Metal (an homage to Dream Theater's 'Dance of Eternity') called 'Tales of the Destinies'. On the album 'TotD' leads into 'The One' - on the only occasion they played 'TotD' live it went into 'The One' with a beautiful piano bridge ... that was the finale of Night 1 at the Tokyo Dome in 2016 (and that one really was extended a lot more for the live performance - but being there you wouldn't care).

Babymetal did a full English version as well since they were touched by how many western fans learned Japanese lyrics to sing along at their shows. The "Kawaii" or "cute" elements kicked strongly in their earlier works when they were young. However, you'll see that in recent years, that's grown into a more mature "sassiness" that's befitting of Babymetal now in their mid-20s. In addition, this song was originally the 2nd half of a longer composition, that became two songs. The 1st half is a prog-metal masterpiece that Mike Portnoy himself have given the thumbs up on. Check out *Tales of The Destinies - Tokyo Dom 2016.* The one and only performance of that song live (probably due to how complex it is). This is an anthem to the fans. It's funny how different perspectives see things. I could not guess how many times I've watched this but never once did the words "kind of repetitive" enter my thoughts. To me it's always been more mesmerizing. Just a note to your-it seems-more regular viewers. In Babymetal's first phase-of which this performance is a part-Metallica saw them. They were so impressed they had Babymetal open a couple of shows for them. So Metallica those hoary but still epic gods of metal themselves were early believers in Babymetal.
Their song "death" is sort of a tribute to Metallica :) This song is great. Especially when you have heard more songs by them cause they have little callbacks to other songs in the guitar work that just brings a tear to the eye thinking these 3 young ladies made it in the metal scene. This band unites people. The One. PS - you havent got to see much of their metal side yet as far as the musicianship. You will see the babymetal attraction soon friend.
Babymetal timing is a characteristic of their shows , they made long introductions , extend some sections of the song and play some videos either to get time to girls to breath or like in this case to be near to people on the back of the venue for a long time. Nice react thank you 🤘🦊

There's a little bit of footage from 'Road of Resistance' in this, from the same concerts. The video has the audio from the domestic (Japanese) release of the Metal Resistance album. The international release of the album has an entirely English version. Usually this song is performed in English, even in Japan.
