The biggest: about 60000 (they say 55000-70000) at Sonisphere in 2014 and when they played Tokyo Dome (2016) for two nights at 55000 each night in total 110000.
@@albertorivera4485 Rock am Ring was rated with over 80.000 people. But i think Rock am Ring had a few venues, not all on the big stage on which EC and Babymetal were performing.
I was at the Babymetal concert in Madrid last December, even in a much smaller venue (there was room for about five thousand) and without all the screens and props of the big concerts in Japan, the girls give their 100% the whole time. Su is the same Queen, Moa is the same Angel of Love, Momo is the same bubbly smiling young woman, no matter where they go they are the pro performers they've been since they were little girls. The fans chant all the songs in Japanese, not knowing the language at all of course, but we have it easier since Japanese and Spanish consonant/vocal sounds are pronounced 90% the same. There were some phones recording but not many, I took some clips here and there but tucked it away... why miss all the work the girls are doing in front of me, to capture some crappy quality phone footage when I can watch it on youtube anyway?
“One Organism” is a great catch since the fanbase is called *THEONE* The thing that makes their lives so magical is that the fans are part of the performance. When fans go to a concert, they’re not just there to watch and listen but are also there to perform along with them.
I'm disabled, so I was worried I wouldn't make it through the whole show. But I felt no pain...until we left, and then I thought I was going to DIE. There was too much joy and adrenaline running through me for me to notice I was *ruining* myself at the time. Worth it, tho. XD I'd do it again. A hundred times. And I'd still dance and headbang just as hard.
It was a trip of 16 hours to get there, but totally worth it. It starts hours before outside, massive lines for merch. Lot's of people talking to each other, cosplaying, taking photo's. After the show there's usually an afterparty with a lot of foreign fans attending. Only one other band i can recommend with good crowd interaction is Electric Callboy, but Babymetal is on their own level!
Excellent reaction. 'Megitsune' is a big favourite, often coming top in fan polls and it is the song they have played live more times than any other. This audience was great ... I think my favouorite BABYMETAL audience for this song was at the Red Fox Festival performance in 2017 - they had an exclusive all female audience . 'Megitsune' was the first single they released after splitting from the parent group Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band in their own right - that was in 2013 - the official video was released when Su-metal was 15, Yuimetal and Moametal were 13, about to turn 14. 'Megitsune' is also arguably the song that showcases better than most what BABYMETAL are about and one that truly reflects their Japanese culture the best starting with the sound of the traditional instruments (shamisen or koto, you decide which) in the intro and the lyrics about women being compared to foxes (kitsune - which also explains the fox mask Su had) which, in Japanese mythology, are able to shape shift and take human form in order to deceive. It is also a bit of a push back against the traditional female role in Japanese society I think - or maybe it is - whilst also praising and celebrating the women who have played that role over the years for their strength. They are saying that women wearing their make up and hiding their true feelings ("crying at heart, smiling at face") are not trying to deceive anybody, they are simply trying to please everybody - so they are not kitsune (foxes), they are megitsune (female foxes or vixens) - and they are strong. The melody used in the live intro and in the breakdown in the middle of the song is from the very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms). When Su spoke a couple of words and did a high kick she said "Otome wa ... nametara ikan zeyo." (Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated). The last part of this is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie said by the daughter of a gang boss. This was the PIA Arena in Yokohama - actually one of the smaller arenas they've played lately with a capacity of about 12-15k people I think Their biggest solo shows to date were in 2016 at the Tokyo Dome with 55k people ... they sold it out 2 nights running and played a completely different set list each night - that was every song from the first two albums and the bespoke choreo for every song too (yes they are the hardest working girls on the planet I suspect). Generally they will play about 11 to 15 songs in a concert - each one with the choreo and every song performed with maximum energy and quality right from the first to the last. To answer your question - I've never seen and can't think of another band quite like them. I've also seen some of the recognised greatest live bands in their prime over the last few decades - I was never better entertained by any of them as I have been at the BABYMETAL concerts I've been to. When I go to see BABYMETAL it is different to any other band - with other bands I hope they are going to be on form, put on a good show and entertain me. When I go to see BABYMETAL none of those things are in any doubt - I'm just hoping the crowd will be good enough for BABYMETAL, that they will all be joining in, jumping on cue, chanting and singing along, doing the right call and response things etc. On the phones at concerts - filming on phones is not allowed in Japan, they are very strict about it (fancam videos are rare) and it makes for a much better experience for everybody there - you don't have to try to see past a sea of phones, people are not watching the show through a screen taking a shaky video they will never watch and everybody is there in the moment, joining in and being a part of the event.
Megitsune is also one of the hardest songs for Su to sing, as it is very much on the edge of her current vocal range(in addition to having an intense choreography and generally difficult song structure that requires absolute mastery of breathing and vocal control). It is one of the very few songs that she can regularly be heard struggling with, especially during long touring schedules. She also frequently uses it as a tuning song to check her voice and ear monitor before shows. That's not so say that she ever does a bad job with it, but she absolutely does struggle with it at times.
BabyMetal is a production. It all grows from the mind of its producer: KobaMetal. He finds/hires the songwriters, the musicians, everything. He just happened to find astonishingly talented performers and songwriters. He clearly cares a great deal for the audience as well.
Thanks, great reaction 👍🙂 Love to see your journey down the fox hole, please keep reacting to BABYMETAL 😊 And yes, I've been to one show and it is exhausting but also so much fun to participate in the crowd 🤗 Of course you don't have to, seeing the ladies giving 200% of their energy you just have to go with it 😄 Take care ✌️
Great reaction, thanks! "Megitsune" is one of their most loved songs and their most played live one: 337 times since it was premiered in 2013. The style sub-genre is electronicore, a mix between electronica and metalcore with a hardcore style breakdown. It took 36 demos to Takehiro Mamiya best known as Yuyoyuppe (or Yuppemetal), the song's arranger, until Kobametal (their producer) was 100% happy with the final result. It may sound crazy but this is why "Megitsune" is one of their best songs (if not the best). Japanese crowds are incredibly coordinated not to mention that taking pics or video is strictly forbidden. Good luck with the mask. BABYMETAL merch is sold in limited quantities so it's always sold out and become a collector's item. So, it's difficult to get that mask but not impossible if you know where to search. I got one of those last year... and they are not cheap. 🤘🦊
Great reaction, and interesting that you mentioned that commented on everyone acting as "one"...and the Babymetal Fan base is called "The One"! Most amazing thing I have seen in my 61 years, and so glad that I "found" them in 2018. Looking forward to the next experience!
I love my BABYMETAL more than anything. Just so amazing and unique. Fun, positive, the energy is crazy. The only other band that I feel is fun and unique is Otyken. They are from Siberia. Very positive and talented too. 🤘🦊🤘
i was at one show last year in germany it was absolutely hyped xD and I for sure had no voice after it, but it was an absolute blast you can't even feel exhausted because one song comes right after the other, no time for that
Hell yeah guys! The fans all know what do because this song is their most played live: 340+ times since 2013. Furthermore, the audience will always be part of their act. They build in quite a bit of crowd engagements at every set. Even more so when they're on tour, with a smaller and more intimate crowd. This show was in April 2023, but you should see how they run the crowd 8 years ago: Road of Resistance (Official Live), when they were 17/15 (with a 20K sold out crowd). Also, there are a few logo'd videos from MetRock 2015, which is one of the best festival crowds from a Babymetal show. Look forward to more! 🤘🦊
It’s funny you guys mentioned how people must be hopped up on adrenaline during the show and then crash immediately after. Nope. You have the best high you’ve ever had for hours and hours after the show. I’ve seen them 15 times and it never gets old. It’s a must-live experience
Largest concert was at the Tokyo Dome of 55k people per night. That's 110k people over two nights. And phone/camera use is strictly forbidden at Japanese concerts. And it's also a form of respect. It's cultural. Great reaction guys!
It depends on the artist and the venue. You can film an entire Asterism show in Japan with no problems. BAND-MAID allowed fans to film one song at Yokohama Arena.
Tokyo Dome was just an amazing show. With that said, they've probably had a "larger" overall crowd at festivals like Rock on the Range or Reeds/Leedings, but I'm sure it's split across multiple stages.
Largest concert ever was in Rio de Janeiro in 1994, with roughly 3.5 million attendees. It was a free show, but still huge nonetheless. I hope you guys continue to enjoy this band. I was at a show in Japan a few months before this one, my feet were full of blisters on the first night alone, so I had to take it easy on the second night.
My 52 year old ass saw them in Louisville last year and it was probably the most exercise I had gotten in years and I loved every minute of it. It was a festival crowd, so not everyone there were fans, so I probably landed on more than a few toes jumping up and down, especially during "Babymetal Death" 😁🤘🦊🤘😁
Watching them live is actually the best, but if you want to get a feel of how they were when they were crazy young(and still awesome) , then check out the official music video of this song
Bring on more Babymetal! Couple of my personal favorites are, Headbanger( official mv, moabanger, momobanger. Suggest that order) Road of Resistance (live in Tokyo) and Monochrome (first take, piano version) Check them out!!
As other’s have noted, earlier BABYMETAL songs were built around the call and response you see here. Moametal (and at the time Yuimetal) were responsible for the chants (ainote). While fans have had over a decade to learn what to chant and when to jump, when BABYMETAL uses well know chants (such as “sore”), the Japanese audience already know what is expected of them. Having only been to their US concerts, I still highly recommend going. Depending on the song, you will still encounter a significant portion of the people there participating; not every BABYMETAL song has the ainote so some crowd participation is more subdued, even in Japan. I am not sure where you are at but they will be in San Francisco in about two weeks. If you are nearby, I hope you can join us!
I went to a BABYMETAL concert last December here in Spain and even though they were not so well known in my country, in the most popular songs, like this one, I saw people who were not interacting get up from their seats to do the dance with them. Unforgettable.
I was swimming in my sweat just after 3 songs on their last year Europe support show for Sabaton (namely BM Death, Megitsune and PA PA YA). Then (thank the Fox God!) they played more timid songs: Mirror Mirror and Monochrome, when I was just standing there and use my hands only, regaining some of my stamina. And then they played another high-octane songs: Gimme Chocolate and Road of Resistance which drained any energy left in me. It felt so good haha!
"The One" is the official name for the fans and members of Babymetal, together they form The One. Su-metal has mentioned more than once how she enjoys creating songs together with attendees at their concerts around the world. I interpret it as every show being a unique experience where everyone in the room contributes to the performance. My legs were numb towards the end of the evening when I saw them last year, but it was awesome anyway. 😄
The fans give all of themselves to the artists because they can feel a similar attitude from the artist to the fans. These girls have been giving 110% at every show and have fought against elitism and gate keeping since they were 12. The fans who know that will always respect that and give their all :)
_Sore!_ 🦊🤘🔥 One of BM quintessential songs. Try also to enjoy the official MV with the original trio and with that heavy breakdown hitting even harder. In general songs from early are better to enjoy with the original formation so you can appreciate the evolution, any song after 2019 including songs from latest album and collabs are ok with latest live shows like this one. Good luck getting that t-shirt and if you still have no luck then try to get VIP tickets when going to a live concert and you'll get the chance to get some of those exclusive and sweet merch. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
After these shows if you are in the standing areas, everyone is soaked through with sweat, but you aren't allowed to crash until the afterparty is over 🤣
i am 59 years old and have seen them 4 times here in Australia 🇦🇺 , these amazing young ladies go hard with the dancing and singing for the entire show ...the atomsphere is pure 100 % adrenaline pumping...and i can't wait to see them again
They sold out two nights at Tokio Dome 55k people each night. Babymetal concerts in Japan are very expensive and sold out in minutes. They are surrounded by the best professionals available, composers, stage custome and light designers , the choreographer is a Olimpic cerymony level and the hole team the band the girls and the crowd are know by THE ONE We are the one Together, we're the only one You are the one Forever, you're the only one Take a look at Road of resistance live in Japan to see the first formation 🦊🤘
Guys that was a fantastic reaction. Your enthusiasm, wonderful energy and obvious enjoyment made for such an enjoyable watch. This performance of "Megitsune" is absolute fire and I love seeing the joy in the ladies eyes as they look out on the audience. Just a quick couple of thoughts. The only band I can think of that has this level-and it's a very different energy-of crowd control and epic scale performances is Rammstein. And they perform their concerts worldwide in German so there's the language thing too. But as awesome as Rammstein can be nobody puts such a smile on my face as Babymetal. They are a whole different experience from anybody else. Also the fox is part of traditional Japanese lore/culture. That's to say just google "babymetal fox god masks" and you'll see a menagerie of them. Babymetal has used different ones over the years. Keep up the great work gentlemen the reactions are pure gold.
Thank you very much for your kind words, I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to tune in. We'll keep the Babymetal reactions coming! We can't wait! 😀
Normally they don't play more than say 70 minutes on a concert, but at least for the audience it is one rush. They are constantly on the move as are the fans. It is so much fun.
if you go to a Babymetal concert expect to come out soaked and compleatly exausted... Every Song has its own crowd interactions which moast of the visitors know... for example sitting on the floor(METALI!!), worshiping the fox God (Headbangeerrrr!!!), a wall of death (Road of Resistance) or a rowing pit (Megitsune). I where on a few concerts of them and due to the samller locations I was able to see them verry close (3row). It was always fun!!!
I realize that you already reacted to the Karate MV but I suggest Karate Live at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls. Remember 2016
The fandom is called „The One“ for a reason. :-) It really does feel like that. Speaking of The One, it sounds like you are not taking a half-assed approach at this with trying to register for the „fan club“ (which is also called The One). Unfortunately, the process is a real PITA, at least for non-Japanese fans. I think the dancing has a huge part in getting the hype up. It helps to energize the crowd, which in turn energizes the girls on stage, making it spiral up to insane heights. I might not be the best example, as I recently turned 50 and haven‘t exercised for about 30 years, but at their show last year, I was about to tap out about half way through. I actually retreated to the back of the venue for the last two songs to get some breathing room. It was pretty pathetic. Can you imagine being THAT guy in a BABYMETAL crowd? :-S As others have already said, BABYMETAL is not like a normal band, it‘s a whole team. There are professional song writers, lyricists, choreographers, instrumentalists, etc., all contributing to the final result. Many metalheads have a problem with that. But I think it’s the only way how it can be that good. If you look at any one of these different facets, you‘ll notice that it‘s top notch. Everything. I have two recommendations, both of which have great crowd scenes as well: „Road of Resistance - Live in Japan“ for some Speed Metal, and the official MV of „The One“ for more like a Power Ballad.
I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this but when sports teams whether professional or college play in Colorado there is oxygen available for the players and they use it. I watched a fancam of a BabyMetal show in Denver. Not once did i see the girls reach for an oxygen mask.
Megitsune has been played at almost every live show they've done for more than a decade, most fans know it from the lights let alone the first bits of music. Not a cult though. :p
Great reaction. Guys, i have seen BabyMetal 5 times now, All in London at Wembley Arena , Brixton Academy, The Apollo and 2 back to back shows at Roundhouse in London not as far as some fans travelled just 500 mile round trip and qued 12 hours to be near front 😁 . It would have been more, but i had to wait because Japan was in lockdown from 2020 to 2023. Unfortunately, you're right. There are quite a few fans that watch the show through their phone . I pick maybe 2 songs before the show because i want to experience the show but not through my phone If they perform the songs i pick i whip my phone out and just hold the camera up and dont look through it. i just hope i got a good recording. I got some great ones, but Moa sat on the edge of the stage a couple of feet away, and my thumb hit the stop recording button 😭 Their is no one like BabyMetal, and i have seen Bands like Iron Maiden and AC/DC but never felt the feelings like i get with BabyMetal, the charisma and stage presence they all have is off the scale especially Su when you see her she commands your attention . Long comment when you start talking about them it is hard to stop 🤣 anyway, so i would surrgest Road of Resistance either live in Japan version earlier in their career or the version from PIA Arena 😁 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼 ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.htmlsi=SeDDsvWz7UaEm-_2 ua-cam.com/video/XpGRYhY897E/v-deo.htmlsi=ln6td8soW3UPEGH6
Their performance at the Tokyo Dome 55,000 sold out. TWICE! React to "Babymetal - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan)" and "The not so extensive guide to Babymetal" by A Fox Song. If you wanna know about BABYMETAL.
I don't know if commenters read the comments of others but I'd write this to you as well as the reactors. Momo is terrific. The group couldn't exist without her. I miss Yui so bad I still cry when I see her in videos. She made the group what it is today. She was the heart of Kuwaii and was so damn beautiful. I'd be a Patreon if you'd not only show the current videos but include from time to time the shows where Yui could show off her dance and singing like in sis anger. I hope koba can see fit to resurect the Kuwaii genre with Metalverse because it is a genre that should never die.
I'll be ne seein them in concert in a handful of months at a venue that has a max capacity of 1,400. Ive never been to a metal concert (actually the only concert I've been to was a projekt revolution tour show with linkin park and MCR) so I'm stoked but also really wish i could see them in Japan. That seems like auch an experience! Anyone who's seen them in smaller USA shows please let me know what to expect, I just know I'm going to be sore after 😂
I've seen them live several times in Europe, but unfortunately they don't travel with their big stage shows. Those are massive productions, built specifically for particular arenas. But only for a couple of shows, and then never to be seen again (until the Blu-ray comes out, anyway). My favourite is probably their 2016 performances at the Tokyo Dome. But, while the shows over here in Europe are smaller and less spectacular, the girls themselves never hold anything back. And in some ways it is actually nicer to see them at a smaller venue. More intimate, I guess. As for their creative process, it is important to understand that Babymetal is really the creation of Key Kobayashi, or *Koba-metal.* You will never see him on stage, but all the fans know him, and he is the real creative force behind it all. He is a life-long metal head, who came across Suzuka Nakamoto and asked himself "why has no one ever used vocals like hers in a metal band?" And while I doubt he ever thought it would become this successful, he took the idea seriously enough to see it through. He collaborates with a number of great musicians and songwriters to create the songs he wants, and spends inordinate amounts of time finetuning their production. The musicians you see on stage (called the Kami Band) are all amazing session musicians, but they generally do not write the music. The girls are invited to collaborate (and have all contributed to the lyrics of a few songs), but they were only 10-12 years old when they started, and their tasks were to sing and dance. So that is what they do. Everyone is a specialist, and Babymetal is a team effort. More of a metal themed stage production than a conventional band, really. There is so much to say about the history of the Babymetal phenomenon, so let us know if you are interested in the details. I am sure the fans will be happy to fill you in. For now, I would suggest that you step back in time a little bit. But perhaps not to the very beginning. I don't think you are quite ready for that yet. I would say we try early 2015, and take a look at _Road of Resistance,_ live at the Saitama Super Arena: ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.htmlsi=7iIDT_DCoLsiPnyp
The side-girls have a specific job: In Japan, it's considered impolite to sing along at a concert. The rest of the audience is there to hear the band, not you, so it's not typical to go to a show and sing along. The side-girls are specifically there to give the crowd a part that it's OK to chant along with. Keep your eyes out for their tour announcements. They do North America all the time, and the smaller shows are just as intense (but with more people with their phones out for sure ☺) And ya, the sooner you can watch a whole concert recording from start to finish, the better. The hype that you're getting from single songs just rachets up from song to song and by the end your adrenaline is through the roof for the finale. There's no band like them.
Hey guys, thanks for featuring my favourite artist. Really enjoy your commentary and your back and forth. Babymetal is easy to underestimate if you've only heard the name or heard their most viral songs like Gimme Chocolate, but give them a proper chance and they'll steal your heart. I'm from Norway and I also have a small youtube channel, I heard you mentioning you wondered what Norwegian music sounded like in your first Babymetal reaction. I'd like invite myself to your channel and show you guys some of Norway's best music. :P Let me know if you're interested.
We're not currently doing any collaborations since we just started and are still learning. But we would love for you to share some of your favorite music from your country 😀. We can add a link to your channel in the description and mention you during the intro. We have quite a few recommendations to go through, so we'll add your music to our list. Take care.
@@Honestreactions9682 Fair, fair. Well, I'm loving your Babymetal reactions, so I'm just happy for you to keep going down the foxhole. If you want a recommendation, I'd go for Akatsuki ( ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html ) But for Norwegian music, I love Katzenjammer (means caterwauling in German). They're four women who all sing and play all instruments, and they all switch out during concerts. They once said in an interview that they all play around 30 instruments, but they don't play any of them very well. Their signature instruments are the bass balalaika with the Cheshire cat's face on it, and the drum set which includes a trash can, an lunch box and a toaster. This song, A Bar In Amsterdam is a fantastic intro to this weird and wonderful group. ua-cam.com/video/bFcDdVGJq7o/v-deo.html
Biggest Babymetal show (not festival. Babymetal only) - 2-days in a row concert at Tokyo Dome. 55k ppl each day, 110k total. (and they pack it in a hours after sales start) HIGHLY suggest u react Babymetal - Tales Of The Destinies. It was performed once. At Tokyo Dome 2016. Its a very progressive metal song.
You need to check out Road of Resistance live in Japan (2015), where they played at Saitama. I already loved this band from a handful of songs, but that performance made me realize just how talented and special they are.
If you’ve either A) Ever been in the ocean and experienced a riptide current, or B) Been to a BABYMETAL show, you’ll know what it feels like to be in a mosh pit, and suddenly move, or be carried, by the crowd to the left and then right by literally 10 feet back and forth, lifted literally off the ground, during that bridge section of the song😆🙂 It’s like an ocean wave; EVERYONE in that crowd is gonna be there up front to mimic the left/right motion/wave, and damned if it’s something I hadn’t experienced in a lit until those lives shows if this song 🙂,
I've been able to see them live here in Belgium right before the Covid pandemic started. It was amazing. The fandom is called 'The One' and you really feel that at a concert. Here in Belgium, it's not that easy to get people really hyped, but holy shit, at their show, the crowd went wild. I think it is the same everywhere with Babymetal. There's just something about them that brings people together. Been a fan since 2015 and although I'm not as obsessed with them as I used to be anymore, I'm probably forever going to remain a fan. Megitsune was the first song I heard from them and ever since then it's still my favorite to this day.
Babymetal World Tour 2016 Legend - Metal Resistance - Red Night & Black Night concert had a total attendance of 110k people over 2 days. Some festivals they appeared at had more.
The audience participation shows the essential role.of Moa, Momo and Yui, the support singers/dancers, who link the crowd with the performance. You'll note that the crowd sings with them, as to sing with the main vocals is rude in Japan. If you want to see them really work the crowd at a young age, try Headbanger live at Legend 1997.
Different genre of music, but for crowd participation watch Maximum the Hormone MV for "Koi no Sperma." Filmed at several festivals. There's a little dance that goes with it. Tens of thousands of people doing the same dance.
I don't know if you noticed it, but the crowd never sings nor screams when SU is singing: they follow Moa's and Momoko's lead, who act like kind of "cheerleaders" and chant whenever they do! Many fans love the smaller stages we get in Europe and US, because the girls make an extra effort to do crowd interaction with the fans close to the barrier! They throw smiles, hurts and more making eye contact with fans!! There are also a lot of fans who follow the choreography in those smaller shows, and I can tell you that after 4 songs I'm already exhausted 🤣 Expecially after they do Papaya - Gimme Chocolate and Megitsune back to back to back 😆 Babymetal have been doing around 20k arena shows in Japan since 2017. We believe they didn't like the sound at the Tokyo Dome (55k people) so they are doing smaller arenas. But it's not really easy to get tickets. You have to enter a lottery to be able to buy a tickets for the Japanese arena shows :D
I just re-watched this reaction, and you made a comment of their fan base being like one. Babymetal fans are referred to as "The One." This is in the Babymetal lore. Die hard fans will tell you this as well. They even have a song named that. So you really nailed it.
This fan base is something else; I remember seeing them at the House of Blues in Chicago, and there was another fan handing out chocolates to the other fellow fans in line, even though she had had a very rough few weeks personally, but just because…Gimme Chocolate” is the song that started it all, and here someone was doing that because we all had found a weirdly non-judgmental family of fans, even though we didn’t really know it yet. People that take the time to care about a thing that much 🙂(btw, I’m still friends with her to this day after that experience…then we all went bar-hopping together…it’s just a true “g out of awesome people,” because “fandom” doesn’t do it justice 🙂)
Something people new to Babymetal like you guys need to realize going in , especially with songs like Megitsune here. Along with Iijame Dame Zettai, headbanger , doki Doki morning and others. These were songs they were performing before there really was a Babymetal. They were just a part of Sakura Gaquin. And their age at the time. When they first started performing Doki Doki morning Yui and Moa was only 11 and Su 12. When they recorded it and the music video, Yui and Moa were still 12 and Su had only recently turned 13. When they recorded Megitsune and the original video for it was released when Yui and Moa were almost 14 and Su was still 15. At this point Moa and Su have been doing this for more than half of their lives. Oh yeah, I think their largest audience for a pure Babymetal show, not a festival. Was two nights in a row at a sold out Tokyo dome . Both nights filled the venues 55,000 seats for a total of 110,000 fans over two shows
I’ve seen them twice in Japan and 6 more times around the world and the Japan shows are just on another level. And yes, it is very exhausting, especially when you aren’t in your 20s anymore lol. The good thing about the smaller shows and venues is the more intimate setting and way more personal interactions with the crowd ❤ 🤘🦊🔥 These days they usually play 12-14 songs at their headline shows with small breaks in between to catch breath and grab something to drink.
Also, side note: You mentioned that Only Japan gets the big shows, but here’s the real shocker: even smaller venues back in the day, they all out absolutely EVERYTHING into those smaller shows, to a level you wouldn’t believe. It’s why I actually prefer the smaller venues now when seeing them live 🙂
👍 👍 Great job guys 2 night back to back sold out shows at Tokyo Dome 55,000 each night. Sonisphere 2014 in the UK I believe was 90,000 Download Festival 2016 in the UK 60,000+ Also sold out Wembley Arena. The ladies call the UK their 2nd home because of all the love snd support by hardened British metal heads.
Both girls are vocal talents in their own right. Take a look at Moabanger LIVE Moa takes over lead vocals for the song Headbanger on her 30.th birthday. Moa also does solo's Onedari Daisakusen (Operation Bribe Dad) LIVE at Budokan 2021 GJ (Good job) LIVE at Budokan 2021
When you are talking about the largest crowd to see a live show. That honor goes to Metallica who had 1 million people watching them live in Moscow in the early 90s.
Babymetal is a team. They have a team of writers they use. The writers almost certainly work with the ladies (as does the choreographer) but outside of a few songs the ladies do not write the music. In fact neither do the musicians you see performing on stage. The band just plays the music live, they don't even actually play on the studio tracks, just live.
Although the studio musicians on BABYMETAL tracks are usually uncredited, Kami Band member Leda Cygnus played guitars and bass on the 'Arkadia' and 'Amore' studio tracks. He's also responsible for the song arrangement for 'No Rain, No Rainbow'. I'm not aware of any other Kami Band members with studio credits for BABYMETAL songs.
I feel like I remember reading that su is involved when they're writing the vocal melody but I really don't know how I would find that specific interview.
Babymetal makes it rather hard to join the fan club and to buy merch. Just signing up to their website is an adventure. Babymetal runs on FOMO, so most of their merch is very limited runs. This is from the performance at Black Night at PIA Arena in April 2023. I was at this show jumping up and down and yelling “Sore!” in a manner most unbefitting for a man of 47 years old. After the show, the fans all have to go a nearby pubs and rehydrate ourselves with Japanese beer. The musicians don’t have any role in the song writing. They are hired session musicians. Babymetal has a song writing team that is overseen by their producer Kobametal. Babymetal shows in Japan are very hard to get tickets to. You have to enter a lottery just win the chance to go, so everyone that is there is a hardcore fan. The regulars like myself travel to Japan several times a year to see them do these shows. The show at PIA Arena was actually a crowd of 12,000, which is on the smaller side for one of their stadium shows. The biggest show they have ever done was at Tokyo Dome in 2016, which was 55,000 fans each night over two nights. A full Babymetal set for one of these shows is around 14-15 songs, which works out to about 90 minutes for the full show. Babymetal give this level of effort in every song of the set and they are often dripping with sweat by the end of the show (and so are the fans).
wait til you watch Headbanger and watch the crowd bow to Su, the Queen. it is so wild when you watch it the first time. and when you do BxMxC make sure to do the live version. the videos are cool but live is just so much better. to see them live which i did in 2019 at the Forum in LA and to hear Su's voice is so good. the thing i took away from that show other than the music is the fact that all ages go to their shows. i saw kids all the way up to 70 year olds. they connect with everybody. the smaller shows are good too but they did have some bad crowds that don't react like they are suppose to. last year they did 95 shows. you think about that. and they sound the same the last one from the first one. i watched some bands in the 90's at the end of their tour and they sucked.
We had to partially blur a section of this video to upload it. But it's a small price to pay to witness the majesty that is Babymetal, enjoy! 😀
I have some authentic BM BLU-RAYs and DVDs if you would like ?
I love this song. I went to Japan to last month to see BABYMETAL's Legend MM concerts (Momometal's birthday shows). Best concerts I have ever seen.
The biggest: about 60000 (they say 55000-70000) at Sonisphere in 2014 and when they played Tokyo Dome (2016) for two nights at 55000 each night in total 110000.
Tokyo Dome the best show ever
@@TheFoxholeUA-cam Facts.
Well, talking about one day, I think the Sonisphere is now behind Hellfest '24 and Rock am Ring '24 performances
“One Organism” is a great catch since the fanbase is called *THEONE*
The thing that makes their lives so magical is that the fans are part of the performance.
Good for you. Never give up, never surrender 💪🤘
This was the PIA Arena in Yokohama - actually one of the smaller arenas they've played lately with a capacity of about 12-15k people I think
Their biggest solo shows to date were in 2016 at the Tokyo Dome with 55k people ... they sold it out 2 nights running and played a completely different set list each night - that was every song from the first two albums and the bespoke choreo for every song too (yes they are the hardest working girls on the planet I suspect).
Budakon Black Night is the best original trio live version, when they elevate up from under the stage at the intro is a goosebump moment every time 💎
@@stangcobra592 I think Budokan Red Night may be even better, but the video on YT is blocked in most countries.
They have unique choreography for over 65 songs
Mikiko ❤❤❤
BabyMetal is a production. It all grows from the mind of its producer: KobaMetal. He finds/hires the songwriters, the musicians, everything. He just happened to find astonishingly talented performers and songwriters. He clearly cares a great deal for the audience as well.
Thanks, great reaction 👍🙂
Love to see your journey down the fox hole, please keep reacting to BABYMETAL 😊
And yes, I've been to one show and it is exhausting but also so much fun to participate in the crowd 🤗 Of course you don't have to, seeing the ladies giving 200% of their energy you just have to go with it 😄
Take care ✌️
Joining The One gives us the ability to foresee what Su wants.
Thanks for the great reaction🤘🦊♪
🤘🦊
Went to both Legend MM shows in March and it was freaking insane. I suggest seeing them in Japan if you have the means to do so.
The bigest concerts that they have perform was at the TOKYO DOME SHOW´S . The two days were sold out with 55,000 people per day
Great reaction, and interesting that you mentioned that commented on everyone acting as "one"...and the Babymetal Fan base is called "The One"!
i was at one show last year in germany
it was absolutely hyped xD and I for sure had no voice after it, but it was an absolute blast
you can't even feel exhausted because one song comes right after the other, no time for that
The name of the fan base is The One. So your observation was on point.
BabyMetal alone was Tokyo Dome - 2 sold out back to back shows, 55,000 each night.
I was at a show in Japan a few months before this one, my feet were full of blisters on the first night alone, so I had to take it easy on the second night.
um, you don't really crash right after, cause there are the after parties that keep you pumped after.
It's my dream to see them live, they're absolutely INCREDIBLE
It felt so good haha!
those last shirts sold out instantly, and yep doing the fanclub thing and navigating Japanese web sites is a bit of an adventure lol
lets go baby metal ft bmth king slayer live..🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
_Sore!_ 🦊🤘🔥
One of BM quintessential songs.
See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
👍👍Awesomely awesome performance. The MV is also must see. Great reaction.🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤
After these shows if you are in the standing areas, everyone is soaked through with sweat, but you aren't allowed to crash until the afterparty is over 🤣
7:35 that's a perfect pause for a perfect smile 😂
Beat me to it.
Yess . Moa so beautiful ❤
I know its not to late but welcome to the fox hole
You both very very welcome
Kitsune Up! 🦊
Great reaction🤘🦊I was looking forward to your BABYMETAL reaction videos!
🤘🦊🤘
i am 59 years old and have seen them 4 times here in Australia 🇦🇺 , these amazing young ladies go hard with the dancing and singing for the entire show ...the atomsphere is pure 100 % adrenaline pumping...and i can't wait to see them again
They sold out two nights at Tokio Dome 55k people each night.
Babymetal concerts in Japan are very expensive and sold out in minutes. They are surrounded by the best professionals available, composers, stage custome and light designers , the choreographer is a Olimpic cerymony level and the hole team the band the girls and the crowd are know by THE ONE
We are the one
Together, we're the only one
You are the one
Forever, you're the only one
Take a look at Road of resistance live in Japan to see the first formation 🦊🤘
I realize that you already reacted to the Karate MV but I suggest
Karate Live at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls.
As others have already said, BABYMETAL is not like a normal band, it‘s a whole team.
Literally had a heart attack after one of their shows lol. Seen em twice since going for a third next month.
I got some great ones, but Moa sat on the edge of the stage a couple of feet away, and my thumb hit the stop recording button 😭
Their is no one like BabyMetal, and i have seen Bands like Iron Maiden and AC/DC but never felt the feelings like i get with BabyMetal, the charisma and stage presence they all have is off the scale especially Su when you see her she commands your attention .
Long comment when you start talking about them it is hard to stop 🤣 anyway, so i would surrgest Road of Resistance either live in Japan version earlier in their career or the version from PIA Arena 😁

Ive seen them last September in NYC it truly an experience! Going to see them at Sick New World fest in 2 weeks!!
The fan base called THE ONE
Check out tokyo dome and sonisphere thats totally amazing
I don't know if commenters read the comments of others but I'd write this to you as well as the reactors. Momo is terrific. The group couldn't exist without her. I miss Yui so bad I still cry when I see her in videos. She made the group what it is today. She was the heart of Kuwaii and was so damn beautiful. I'd be a Patreon if you'd not only show the current videos but include from time to time the shows where Yui could show off her dance and singing like in sis anger. I hope koba can see fit to resurect the Kuwaii genre with Metalverse because it is a genre that should never die.
🦊🦊🦊🔥
I was lucky enough to catch them at a small club with maybe 200 people in it when they ran a small america tour and the energy was just as strong
We unfortunately found them too late.
We missed them by 6 months ☹️
@@Honestreactions9682 I think they're doing 2 shows in San Francisco next week with Dethklok and DragonForce.
They had an arena show in LA at the Forum. I went to a smaller show for my first time, then the Forum the next month. Night and Day.
I would say we try early 2015, and take a look at _Road of Resistance,_ live at the Saitama Super Arena:

If you want a recommendation, I'd go for Akatsuki ( ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html )
But for Norwegian music, I love Katzenjammer (means caterwauling in German).
(and they pack it in a hours after sales start)
HIGHLY suggest u react Babymetal - Tales Of The Destinies.
Why not do Death Legend 1997? (edit) your ready for it.
Tens of thousands of people doing the same dance.
great reaction...🦊🦊🦊
BabyMetal live in Japan,(version )Road of Resistance ' video plaease....
Younger ladies but amazing crowd work.❤
This is BABYMETAL's first music festival outside of JAPAN it is a full set: ua-cam.com/video/0R517ZjKX9o/v-deo.htmlsi=86sv394QQpWJcsvT
There are also a lot of fans who follow the choreography in those smaller shows, and I can tell you that after 4 songs I'm already exhausted 🤣
Expecially after they do Papaya - Gimme Chocolate and Megitsune back to back to back 😆
Babymetal have been doing around 20k arena shows in Japan since 2017.
BABYMETAL next week in San Francisco! Be there!
I was 10 ft away from Moa when I went to their concert. Awesome band
The chants and crowd reactions are because they saw the original MV first
They've performed at the arena stadium in L.A. and the O2 arena Wembley...
The choreography is made by the incredible and talented Mikiko ❤❤❤
Both nights filled the venues 55,000 seats for a total of 110,000 fans over two shows
Checkout their Tokyo Dome concerts. Or the song Road of Resistance live in Japan performance. They played there when they were younger too (teens).
I’ve seen them twice in Japan and 6 more times around the world and the Japan shows are just on another level. And yes, it is very exhausting, especially when you aren’t in your 20s anymore lol. The good thing about the smaller shows and venues is the more intimate setting and way more personal interactions with the crowd ❤ 🤘🦊🔥
These days they usually play 12-14 songs at their headline shows with small breaks in between to catch breath and grab something to drink.
Also, side note: You mentioned that
Only Japan gets the big shows, but here’s the real shocker: even smaller venues back in the day, they all out absolutely EVERYTHING into those smaller shows, to a level you wouldn’t believe. It’s why I actually prefer the smaller venues now when seeing them live 🙂
👍 👍
Great job guys
2 night back to back sold out shows at Tokyo Dome 55,000 each night.
Sonisphere 2014 in the UK I believe was 90,000
Download Festival 2016 in the UK 60,000+
Also sold out Wembley Arena.
The ladies call the UK their 2nd home because of all the love snd support by hardened British metal heads.
Both girls are vocal talents in their own right.
Take a look at Moabanger LIVE Moa takes over lead vocals for the song Headbanger on her 30.th birthday.
Moa also does solo's
Onedari Daisakusen (Operation Bribe Dad) LIVE at Budokan 2021
GJ (Good job) LIVE at Budokan 2021
Sonisphere 2014 was about 50-60.000 people
Watch headbanger from PIA 2023 , the audience is insane
Even though uncredited, I suspect that Barone played on the studio tracks of TOO as well 🤔... of course OTFGK 🤷♂️
🤘🦊⚡️
The choreograph is mad by the talented and amazing Mikiko ❤❤❤
@@DeePal072 Songs on TOO use a drum sample that sounds exactly like one another song with drums by barone so yeah I agree with that 100%
I feel like I remember reading that su is involved when they're writing the vocal melody but I really don't know how I would find that specific interview.
REACT BABY METAL, ONE OK ROCK
ME AUTO SUBCRIBE 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
wait til you watch Headbanger and watch the crowd bow to Su, the Queen. it is so wild when you watch it the first time. and when you do BxMxC make sure to do the live version. the videos are cool but live is just so much better. to see them live which i did in 2019 at the Forum in LA and to hear Su's voice is so good. the thing i took away from that show other than the music is the fact that all ages go to their shows. i saw kids all the way up to 70 year olds. they connect with everybody. the smaller shows are good too but they did have some bad crowds that don't react like they are suppose to. last year they did 95 shows. you think about that. and they sound the same the last one from the first one. i watched some bands in the 90's at the end of their tour and they sucked.
Queen SU ❤❤❤
please check out Road of Resistance Live in Japan ❤. You will see how people obey to these girls
